Hoenn Desert, one of the ruins in the south.
Terrance carefully followed the route to the center of the ruins as he had the first time, took out his communicator, and waited for further instructions.
Currently, the four Trainers—Terrance, Arvin, Albert, and Murasakibara—each went to one of the four ruins. Each possessing a Pokémon capable of using Ancient Power, which Arvin had captured, they all reached their respective locations.
Terrance was somewhat excited. The Legendary Pokémon... he should be able to see it with his own eyes soon.
He wasn't very worried about falling into danger. Legendary Pokémon being powerful is mostly just exaggerated. In reality, many legendary Pokémon were not much different from ordinary Pokémon.
It was because they were rare and seldom appeared before people that they were shrouded in mystery and deemed powerful.
In addition, most Legendary Pokémon have longer lifespans and are generally stronger than ordinary Pokémon, which is considered normal.
Except for those like Groudon, Kyogre, or Sinnoh's Creation Trio, which are probably unique and have existed since ancient times...Legendary Pokémon like Moltres or Regirock are likely more than one.
He knew of many examples where ordinary Trainers had defeated Legendary Pokémon. Crown Academy had many records of this. Except for those Legendary Pokémon that might be the only one of their kind, Regirock, though mysterious, did not evoke a sense of invincibility.
"Countdown starting..."
The communicator beeped with a message. Ishi started giving instructions. Terrance took a deep breath and watched the countdown on his watch...
Tick... tick... tick...
Suddenly, Terrance commanded Baltoy to use Ancient Power on the cracks. Buzz... buzz...
This time, the cracks filled with light, and as time passed, the light grew stronger. Terrance realized it had worked!
One second, two seconds, three seconds...nothing unusual happened on Terrance's side so far.
In the north, Murasakibara and Albert also watched the same glowing pattern, feeling somewhat dazed. However, with no further changes, they were puzzled and could only focus their attention on the communicator, waiting for news.
While nothing was happening for Terrance, Albert, and Murasakibara, Arvin was startled.
As the light from the pattern grew stronger, Arvin felt the ground shaking, and the cracks under his feet were trembling more and more.
His mouth twitched, and he quickly retreated, notifying Ishi of the anomaly via the communicator.
He then swiftly retraced his steps to leave the eerie place.

In the desert, inside two helicopters, Ishi and Maki were nervously monitoring the communicators. All four sent updates, but Ishi was startled to find that while three of them reported little activity, only Arvin's location showed significant disturbance. It seemed that the awakening site of Regirock had been identified.
"I'll go support Arvin. Maki, quickly bring the others over," Ishi said quickly. "Keep an eye on the communicator for any further changes!"
"Got it!" Maki nodded solemnly, piloting the helicopter towards the other three.
With the experience of entering the ruins before, they found the most convenient routes in and out. For this recording, the Adventure Team spared no expense, equipping themselves with everything they needed.
After about ten minutes, Terrance rushed out from the center of the ruins. Despite his stamina, he was still out of breath.
Many lighting equipment were left inside the ruins as there was no time to retrieve them now. About thirty minutes later, Terrance heard the sound of the helicopter and his heart skipped a beat. They're here!
He didn't know what was happening elsewhere, but since nothing had changed on his end, one of the others must have encountered something odd.
The message from the communicator was to wait for Maki's pickup. After waiting for so long, Terrance had a guess: Regirock had likely appeared on Arvin's side.
Maki decided to pick up Albert and Murasakibara from the north first, then head south to get Terrance, and finally, all of them would go further south to Arvin's location.
"I'm here!~~~"
Terrance commanded his Pokémon to release a move as a signal, and Maki and others immediately arrived to pick him up.
As soon as Terrance boarded the helicopter, he saw the excited expressions on Albert and Murasakibara's faces. Clearly, they were also excited.
"Hold on tight—we're accelerating!" Maki said.
**************************
Forty-five minutes earlier.
Arvin sensed the disturbance and quickly retreated from the ruins. As he left, the commotion within the ruins intensified, making him inwardly anxious.
At the center of the ruins, the glowing crack expanded, vibrating with a buzzing sound, and fragments of rock fell as if the entire ground was about to split open.
Feeling the increased tremors, Arvin quickened his pace, but he felt somewhat relieved.
Regirock's awakening would take some time!
He wouldn't have to face Regirock alone.
The ground trembled, the crack widened, and deep beneath the center of the ruins, seven orange lights lit up simultaneously, forming an "H" pattern!
"Regi~~rock---------"
"Regi~~rock---------"
A deep, mechanical, and rocky voice echoed underground, unheard and unnoticed by anyone. As the sound slowly grew louder, the vibrations beside the "H" pattern of orange lights suddenly intensified.
By this time, Arvin had already reached the outside, gazing up at the massive ruins in shock.
The ruins... were also shaking.
"Just stay in there a bit longer, stay in there a bit longer… please sleep for a little more," Arvin prayed silently, hoping Regirock would take its time and not emerge until everyone was gathered.
However, Arvin's prayers went unanswered. Amid the sounds of "bang" and "boom," a huge commotion came from within the ruins. The dull thuds echoed through the ruins, resembling thunder.
At the center of the ruins, the ground split completely, like a door being torn open, revealing a deep abyss. A Pokémon with long, rocky arms made of brown stone pressed against the ground, trying to climb out from underground. Its protruding shoulders, club-like hands, and the rocky spines on its back were worn and damaged, marked by the passage of time.
Yet even in this state, as it emerged, it commanded great power, causing the sandstorm within the ruins to tremble and float in the air.
Arvin swallowed hard, unsure of the situation inside. He looked up at the sky, feeling that the time was right. Sure enough, it wasn't long before the sound of Ishi's helicopter reached him, allowing Arvin to breathe a sigh of relief.
"How's it going?" Ishi shouted towards Arvin.
"It has woken up. I heard Regirock's cry," Arvin replied. As if to confirm Arvin's words, a deep groan, like a mix of machinery and rocks, echoed again, instantly drawing both their gazes to the ruins.
