Talking about the other villagers, indeed, even as they stood in front of the row of wooden barricades, they still hadn't seen any signs of life from the other people. Just as they started to question this, the wooden barricade in front of them creaked.
After noticing that there was a source of light coming from torches inside, the soldiers no longer needed to be overly cautious about the situation. The creaking of the wood became louder, and some who were standing too close to the barricade slowly stepped back, as the wooden logs seemed to rotate vertically.
There were two pairs of legs—four in total of course—standing inside the barricade, pulling a rope that rotated six logs in a row, forming what looked like some kind of gate. Apparently, only now did the soldiers realize that among all the logs embedded in the barricade, these six were not really embedded and had blunt ends.
