The next attack I instantly threw out was smaller and only worth 50, but just as it landed I knew that I had made a terrible error, as I watched it only serve to annoy the beast even more.
As it fully slithered out and attacked the side and everything around it without care.
Nami's direction was the first place he headed for and I watched with a terrified expression on my face, as the beast's body lowered itself to slam into her, in a way that was too slow for me to react to.
"Caen…" I watched her yell, expecting her to be squeezed to paste only to watch as she was merely tossed to the side as a huge air shield appeared to protect her.
"What the hell are you doing…" she instantly yelled the next second in rage as I watched blood slip from the corners of her mouth in a way that showed that she had been internally wounded.
In a split second, I realized that I was indeed being stupid. If the attack that fell on Nami had fallen on Moey, there was no way to guarantee that she would survive. Moreover, the more we fought, the more we would attract even more ferocious beasts go ourselves.

For a second, I felt tears at the edge of my eyes as I dragged such a huge amount of mana from my core, wanting to finish the beast off in the next second.
I slashed with all the focus I could muster aiming for the beast's neck this time around, glad to see it get sliced off according to my directions.
Its head fell to the ground and the smile that appeared on my face was huge.
It was my second beast kill but it was much safer and more exciting than the first.
I stood there in a slight daze jubilating in my heart when in the next second, I watched Nami move closer to the beast, dragging the body of the beast with a little struggle in a way that showed that she was using more mana that she would have liked before tossing it off.
I watched as the big five meter body rose to the air and flew meters away from where we were.
While Nami did that, Moey, was already using her mana to use the sand on the ground to cover the traces of blood on the ground with an expression of relief on her face even as Kern simply stood there with a sad look in his eye.
The moment it was all done, I miserably calculated the amount of points I was shocked to realize that I had just spent about 80% of my mana to defeat one beast.
"What then would happen If we were to get attacked by another beast?" My eyes widened a little in fear as I realized that I really was still too weak, and although the 1000 points looked like a lot, it wasn't.
"Brother Caen…" I suddenly heard Nami yell in glee, shocked at the sudden change of the way she addressed me only to see her hold the huge snake head to the ground and dig out the huge white mana core in it.
"We're rich…" she happily said, raising her hand up to show me the mana core before also, using her mana to toss sway with snake head as far as she could.
"You mean I'm rich…" I sighed in slight annoyance realizing that even if I were to make money, my new found family would suck away half of it, which meant that my growth speed in the new world was bound to be somewhat slow.
"At least, I should find out if sleeping really increases my mana points," was my next thought as I stepped closer to the wooden structure with the intention of walking in first and making sure that there were no other beasts waiting to surprise us.
At the entrance was a heavy wooden door that was slightly broken and had been removed to the side.
I didn't touch it and simply moved past it, creating a soft glow of light with my hands as I entered, glad to see that it was devoid of any other beast that could sneak up on us.
I instantly beckoned for the rest of them to step inside, before moving forwards to use the door to block the entrance from where I was inside, along with some stones beside the door.
"That would have to do…." I sighed looking back to see Moey going ahead to light up a small lantern she had brought along, one that was most likely for Kern's benefit since he was the only one that was unable to use mana.
Knowing how it felt to not be able to use mana, I couldn't help but pity him which was why I decided to treat him better than I had before, seeing as how I realized that I usually just ignored him and spoke more to Moey and Nami.
Still, now that we were all in a quiet and somewhat safe place, with only 200 points in my mana core, the next thing I did was to lie down on the wooden floor and try to get some sleep.
I was sad to see that none of them said a word and simply allowed me to do so.
A while later, I fell asleep.
My intention was to sleep for as long as I could, which was why when I stirred away a few minutes later, I instantly frowned and tried to go back to sleep.
But no matter how much I tried it was worthless and I continued to stay awake. I had only taken a nap and didn't think that it would work but just in case, I checked my mana core and I was again shocked at the result.

"What kind of insane cheat is this?" I muttered to myself, smiling with joy as my thoughts wandered to the endless possibilities in front of me.
