Chapter 2 - The corpse is a fraud

Upon hearing Zixu Daoist's words, Mu Yufeng and Jun Zi Xi saw a glimmer of hope on their faces. As long as the curse was lifted, their son could be revived.

The night grew increasingly oppressive, the wind stronger, and thunder followed one after another, giving the impression that the heavens were enraged.

Located behind Cloud City, atop the Peak-Sealing Cliff, the terrain here was treacherous. It was a Feng Shui treasure because every eldest son of the Mu family throughout the generations was buried here. After each eldest son's death, a large amount of treasures would be buried with them to prevent grave robbers. Peak-Sealing Cliff was the best choice to deter intruders.

Behind it lay a precipitous cliff, with its depth unfathomable, and in front, guards from Cloud City stood watch. For ordinary people, attempting to rob the graves there would be akin to seeking death.

On top of a tomb adorned with marble, the grave marker read "Mu Yunxuan's Tomb."

To the left side of the tomb, a stone staircase led down into the grave.

"Boom, boom...!"

The lightning and thunder intensified, and heavy rain poured down, with each thunderclap foreshadowing death.

A massive white light descended from the sky and entered Mu Yunxuan's tomb.

"Mmm!" Within the pitch-black and glossy coffin, spacious enough for two people, the lid remained open, and a faint whimpering sound could be heard.

Su Zimo rubbed her forehead, her head throbbing. What was happening to her? She was in the middle of negotiating cooperation terms with her business partner. Why did her head suddenly start hurting?

Sensing a flickering light, Su Zimo slowly opened her eyes.

"Mmm!" Blinking her drowsy eyes, Su Zimo furrowed her brows. Where was she?

When she turned her head, a handsome man dressed in a large red robe suddenly came into view, sleeping next to her, his long hair a feature unique to ancient people.

Su Zimo widened her eyes in shock, her almond-shaped eyes filled with fear. She abruptly sat up, knocking over some peculiar objects on the red bedding without even sparing a glance.

"A coffin?" Su Zimo looked at the place where she had been sleeping. It was undoubtedly a coffin. If this was a dream, it shouldn't feel so real! The scene was truly eerie.

Su Zimo pinched herself forcefully.

"Ouch, ouch, ouch...!" Su Zimo shook her reddened hand in pain. "Damn it, this doesn't seem like a dream!"

Suddenly, she noticed that she was holding a red paper in her hand. Su Zimo examined it closely and saw two large characters written on it: "Jia Shang" (marrying into a funeral).

"Jia Shang? Isn't that a phrase associated with ghost marriages?"

Suddenly, the man next to her stirred slightly.

Su Zimo froze in place, staring blankly as she watched the man gradually wake up.

When the man's deep and captivating eyes suddenly opened wide.

"Ah...! Help! A zombie...!"

The shrill and terrified voice made Mu Yunxuan furrow his handsome brows, his impatience evident.

"You, you, don't come near me! If you come any closer, I'll kill you!"

Su Zimo pointed at Mu Yunxuan, bewildered. What was happening to her? Even if it was a dream, it shouldn't be this realistic.

"Damn woman, shut up," Mu Yunxuan growled, furrowing his brows once again. They were pressed close together. Did he have to go over there? However... Mu Yunxuan glanced around and speculated on the situation. His deep and wise eyes involuntarily shifted towards the frightened woman.
