He held the crystal and looked at it curiously. It gave him goosebumps. He didn't know if it was the trigger to lightning or there were other reasons to it.
The crystal was pitch black. He tried to insert his energy but regretted the idea as the crystal greedily sucked it away with no sign of stopping.
He started to sweat bullets as the thing refused to stop. After sometime the crystal showed no sign of stopping but he could fill all his reserves dried out.
His face had already lost colour due to exhaustion.
Just as it was about to completely drain him, the golden lotus symbol shone brightly with divine light.
Divine energy enveloped the crystal. The crystal immediately became dormant in presence of a superior form of energy.
Karl passed out due to exhaustion. This fight had taken a toll on his body. If it wasn't for the crystal, there was no way he could kill that near immortal existence.
He failed to notice the soul energy sucked away from the crystal. This energy was very pure to say the least. It went straight into him.
His soul strength soared at astonishing speed. This was soul power belonging to over thousands of people.
That skeleton had spent most of its life span collecting souls of powerful creatures. The crystal converted it to soul power which Karl was unconsciously sucking away.
His soul became robust oozing with power. All his soul limits were unblocked at his current level. All the elements were now at his call. He couldn't use them over time as his soul was too weak.
His race had many privileges he had yet to find out.
Luckily for him, he was unconscious as his body cracked allover. Blood flowed out, but not long his regeneration kicked in.
His body was cracked and regenerated over time. Impurities were pushed out. This process continued for 40 minutes.
Karl woke up. His bones cracked as he stood up.
A foul stench immediately assaulted his nose.
Looking around him, he spotted a dark substance on him and the ground.
"I need to take a shower, but first let's store away this crystal."
After erasing all his tracks, he disappeared towards a lake very far away.
The place was left in ruins. This was a catastrophic battle between an undead and a supernatural being.
The corrosive nature of the dark energy hard sucked away all the life over afew kilometers.
Various mountains had crumbled. Trees erased. Earth split. Craters formed.
It was like a battle of supreme entities had transpared.
Not knowing the impact of his battle, Karl layed on the lake calmly. His senses all alert. These fights helped sharpen him.
All his opponents were all that powerful. He didn't know if it was just luck but he managed to survive against all odds.
'Luck can also be considered power I guess.'
'Soon over world will have visitors. I need to become stronger in this period, there will nolonger be peace we believe we have now. Sure Luxuria is strong but I will just be a burden to her if am weak.'

The Great family heads immediately set a meeting. Something strange was going on to which they couldn't put a finger tip on.

The records of ancient say little about that crimson lightning but it clearly appears as the heavens are dead set at destroying something. That lightning was not for show. I only conclude that there are some forces involved in this than eyes meet, no normal supernatural can cause such destruction that transpared they must be high Rankers." "It's true that there are some forces involved in this but we haven't proved which one. There are dark energies left behind after the fights. These energies are highly corrosive in nature. Proof of this is an entire forest that has been drained of life today." A middle aged man spoke with a deep frown. As a high rank official in the SPF he should know much after investigation but he knew little to nothing which pissed him off.
