Chapter 19 - Chapter 19

In front of Silver Field...

The young elephant beastman, Jasper, the Arc of Strength, was fighting with a bit of ease. 'I thought this was going to be harder,' he thought, swinging his hammer toward the army of orcs and goblins. 'Do they not have an ability?'

He was a bit bored with fighting. When he felt the aura of the army at first, he thought the battle was going to be epic.

But because he put his guard down. He didn't see a fireball coming his way. Fortunately, he has thick skin, so the fire didn't burn him too much.

He looked over to where the fireball had come from. It was an envious demon. "I despise your strength," she said, sending a wave of fire at him.

Although she has a common ability, pyrokinesis, she has the hottest fire Jasper has ever endured.

Jasper grunted, dodging the wave of fire, and although he dodged the wave of fire, he could still feel the heat on the surface of his skin. Behind him, some goblins and orcs thought it was a good idea to attack him, but they were killed before they could fully attack.

"Just die already!" The envy demon said this as she created another fire blast to shoot at Jasper, but she never got the opportunity to do so.

Her head was cut off by Dandelion, a curly, green-haired elf with hazel eyes, who is one of Ethan's classmates. "Ethan's talks aren't all nonsense," she said silently, remembering Ethan's little speech before he was kidnapped by Hadrian.

"Look out!" Jasper shouted, and she turned around to see a dark elf behind her. The dark elf had wind-based powers, which he used to attack her.

Dandelion barely dodged, only getting away with a few strands of her hair getting chopped off. The dark elves were kicked out of the elven race before the arrival of Nox because they failed to serve Gaia, their creator. She stripped them of their beauty and cursed them to never step into their realm again, and since they weren't accepted in most of the other realms, they settled down in the Dark Realm, where they quickly multiplied, but because of the dark energy found in the Dark Realm, they were corrupted and greedy for power.

They were both pushed back by the strong gusts of wind made by the dark elf.

Dandelion became angry. She must not let this elf win; she should be able to defeat him, or else what kind of disgrace would she bring to her people? She began to chant the poems of nature, and a sudden blast enveloped her sword as she cut through the wind and went in to attack the dark elf.

Taegen, too, was chanting the poems of nature; he is one of the few elves in the elven race that has the blessings of Gaia.

He doesn't use his ability to fight. There's no need to. He just fought with a spear in his hand and a confused frown on his face. Where are the owners of the powerful auras he felt earlier? None of the warriors they are fighting and mercilessly killing are who they are looking for.

"It's almost as if they are waiting for something," he murmurs.

All of what is happening is being watched by the elders and the Master. "The one we are after is not there," Claude said. "He must be hiding somewhere like a coward."

Lucifera laughs out loud. "The one who escaped from Vella's best is afraid to come out to fight," she said. "I don't think that is what it is," she said, poking Claude's nose, who snarled at her.

"He's not present," the Master said coldly.

"But wouldn't this mean that the deaths of the warriors are wasted?" Claude said in the most respectful voice he could muster.

"They are just pawns," the Master said. "The heads must have hidden him away from us," she said. "Send someone to find the boy; meanwhile, send out the rest of the troops and aim for that elf," she said, pointing at Taegen. "Kill him."

Meanwhile, in the Central Realm, at Oakwood High School...

Ethan and Emily stood in front of the class as the teacher asked them to introduce themselves. Ethan's eyes twitched in annoyance. Does he need to introduce himself?

"Hello, my name is Emily Moris," Emily said, introducing herself enthusiastically. "I am seventeen years old, and he is my best friend," she said, pointing to Ethan, who covered his face in embarrassment.

He hears a few people laughing, before hearing a few guys talking about Emily.

Ethan introduces himself in a cold voice. "My name is Ethan Remora; I, too, am seventeen years old, and if any of you think about dating her, I will end you and your bloodline," he said calmly.

"He doesn't mean it," Emily said, smiling in a friendly manner.

"I mean it," Ethan says almost immediately, and just to show how serious he was, he glares at the group of people talking about Emily. His eyes said, 'Touch her, and I'll kill you like an insect.'

"They both transferred from Silver Field Academy," the teacher said, excitedly clapping a bit. "Ask them whatever question you like," he said.

The students began making sounds of awe. "What's it like?" one of them asked.

"It's nice," Emily said, still smiling.

"Not really," Ethan said.

"It must not be nice for you because of the way you are behaving," a female student.

"Excuse me?" Ethan said he was offended.

"I mean, look at the way you are—wearing jewelry, and having bandages wrapped around your hands—clear signs that you are a troublemaker," the girl said. "My cousin goes to Silver Field as well, and she told me everything about the place, including that you are a horrible person."

Emily coughed out loud as she tried to hold back her laughter. "Lily, that was rude," the teacher scolded the girl before Ethan could say anything.

The teacher looks apologetically at Ethan and Emily. "I apologize for her behavior," he said.

"You aren't her caretaker; why are you apologizing?" Emily asked, confusedly.

"Don't apologize for something you are not responsible for; it's disgusting," Ethan said, before turning to the girl. "Lily is your name," he said. "First of all, I am not a horrible person unless I am forced to be one."

Emily nods at this fact. "Second, I am mostly too mentally exhausted being around people I don't like to look for trouble."

"And finally, she is more of a troublemaker than I am," he said, pointing at Emily. "Don't be fooled by her sweetness; she's a monster in disguise."

Emily laughed embarrassingly before punching Ethan's shoulder as hard as she could. The physical force applied could be felt, but Ethan didn't flinch.

"Weakling," he said.

Emily wanted to summon a gun and shoot Ethan. "Sir, could you show us our seats?" she asked, forcing herself to sound sweet.

"Sure," he said. "There are two empty seats at the back; if you are uncomfortable with them, then we can change seats."

They looked at the empty seats in the back, and they both looked at each other as if asking if the seats were okay.

"Thank you, sir," Emily said, when they both agreed on the seats.

Ethan couldn't handle normal school anymore. Math is a lot more boring than he thought, and everyone thinks so as well. He blinks tiredly, and when he can't handle it anymore, he puts his head on the table and sleeps off.

Soon he felt someone tapping him. He opens his eyes, his dark aura mistakenly slipping. "What?" he asked, clearly annoyed.

He sees that it was the math teacher. Mr. Johnson. A miserable looking human with heavy eye bags who is just shabby in appearance.

The shock of Ethan's aura had already dissipated, and Ethan yawned and streched. "Sorry," he said. "Your class is very boring," he said honestly.

"Well, I don't enjoy you sleeping in my class," Mr. Johnson said angrily.

"Okay," Ethan said. He glances at the board. "The answer is the integration of one over three cosec θ," he said. "I have learned all this, and it is boring; let me sleep," he says, putting his head back on the table.

Mr. Johnson looks over at Emily to ask her to get her friend up, only to see that she fell asleep while sitting upright. He didn't even notice it.

"How is that even possible?"

Hadrian was having a not-so-nice time in his glass, because he's in a lower grade than Ethan and Emily, he's not with them, and all the girls are looking at him with dreamy eyes. He feels uncomfortable being around people he doesn't know. "Alright, Hadrian," his homeroom teacher said. "You can go and sit next to Daniel," she said. "Daniel, can you raise your hand?"

The young buck beastman shyly raised his hand, and Hadrian recognized him. At least he knows someone, even if they just met today.

He walks over to Daniel with the girls fawning over him, and he sits quietly. "Nice to see you again," Hadrian said.

Daniel only nods in response.

This is going to be a long day.

'I wonder how Ethan and Emily are doing,' he thought.
