After a whole day of talking, Lulu and I learned a lot. And our jaw also hurt a lot.
'It feels like I can hear my jaw creak. Please let it just be my imagination,' I mock myself.
There are many things that I have learned from both Trin and Sung, such as; How many intelligent races there are, what's the parethezised number next to our stats, kingdoms, some history, dangerous creatures, and finally, magic powers!
'Everyone in this world has a system, I guess... I thought we would have some sort of advantage, but in a way, we do.'
First of all, there are eight races, excluding humans. The moment that Trin and Sung confirmed that they really were elves, I couldn't contain myself and yelled with excitement. I stayed red for a while.
As I described from my first encounters with the two, Elves are generally beautiful, at least to other's eyes. They are mainly petite and are known for their love for greenery, although they will still eat meat from time to time.
There are the ones that the God mentioned, the Dragon Kins, They are known for their lines of scales running along their body, the way Sung described it made me think it's for fashion, but he said that it was a form of protection. They have naturally strong bodies due to these said scales, but they are also known for their pride.
There are also the Dwarves, as expected they're small in size, but they have the willpower of a Giant. This race is known to be muscleheads, but they are also known for their passion for art, art meaning their creations.
Did I mention Giants? Yes! they are a race in this world as well. Unlike dwarves who are known to be muscular, giants are more of the opposite. Though they're called giants, they're only around three meters tall.
'I said only, that's still tall, but I expected Giants to tower over me.'
Continuing on, there are the Demons. Contrary to how they're portrayed on Earth, they are not actually that much of an evil race. They're known for the horns on their head and strange taste in art.
'The way us humans portrayed some of these races are starting to be destroyed,' I chuckled.
Then there are the said Gnomes, we were told that they look just like us but their average height is at 1 meter. They're known to be elusive, as you would think that they are slow due to their small legs. However, they are actually the fastest intelligent race, at least on land.
'I wonder what their reaction would be when they see a human for the first time.
'Maybe they'd think that we are their ancestors,' I let my imaginations run wild.
I mentioned "on land" because in the sea roams the merfolk race. They're the lords of the ocean, though there are some tales that there might be a mythical creature that could wipe them if angered. As merfolks, they are known for their fish tail instead of legs.
Finally, there's the vampires. Just like the Gnomes, they don't show themselves to the outside world much. They're known for their pale skin, blood red eyes, slightly pointy ears, and fangs that are also slightly long.
'Sung and Trin didn't say anything about them being weak against the sun, so maybe it's not their weakness at all.'
Now for the number next to our stats. Apparently, they are for potential. Up to how much we can raise our stats fast, and that after we reach those stats, it will be significantly harder to raise it further.
As for how to raise them... one just has to train to the extreme. how to raise the two stat, str and agi, are pretty straight forward, just push the body to the limits. The int stat is strange, it is the hardest yet easiest to raise, because one has to either have a lot of knowledge or experience, or they would have to be in a situation where their mind is at full use.
Trin said that torture can raise one's stats a little, but there's a limit, and also not practical.
'People who would torture themselves must be out of their minds by now.'
The health stat will naturally increase as one trains their body. As for mana, one has to absorb it from their surroundings daily or every moment they have if they really want to be "truly strong." Absorbing mana depends on how much the person has control over their own mana, an inexperienced person could absorb for a whole day but would only amount to half an experienced person.
'I guess it all depends on talent on this part. Maybe if there's a really good teacher out there, a hopeless person could become great at mana control.'
Although everyone has their own stat system, not everyone can be a superhuman due to their potential, since an average joe would have a potential lower than 1. People would be born with a 0.01 stat and only be able to raise it to 0.1 their whole life if they don't train rigorously. There are farmers who would get their str up to 0.2, though.
Even though potentials can be genetic meaning only people who work hard would be able set up for their descendants. Most people feel despair when they're born with low potentials so they don't even think about it. With these conditions, people just decide that they would live life a bit quiet. This was also the reason why I thought earlier that, in a way, humans have an advantage, just by looking at our potential, but I'm only assuming that every human has higher potential, like Lulu and I, than normal people of this world.
'In the end, everything falls into hard work.'
Now, there are kingdoms, to be brief, each race has their own, the only exceptions being the Vampires and Gnomes. Al'var Kingdom of the Elves, Grevil Kingdom of the Dwarves, Tarrvir Kingdom of the Dragon Kins, Tanued Kingdom of the Giants, Miscral Kingdom of the Demons, and finally Ensiad Kingdom of the Merfolks.
For history... there's too much of it that I don't even want to remember any of them. Just know that wars happened. The world right now is at peace, but I can't say anything about the arrival of humans, though...
There are many dangerous creatures that roam this world, including the Fallen that we encountered in the forest. There's the Goblin, Kobold, Ent, Orc, Trolls. What makes these creatures dangerous is that they can use magic, they may not be as good as a human, but they can easily kill a normal person, even an amateur superhuman would have a hard time dealing with them. There are many more creatures out there, but that's for another day.
Finally, Magic. Apparently, there are five main categories for magic. There's Creation, Elemental, Amplification, Miracle, and Transformation. Sung explained that due to the complications of these magics, one can only use one type, but of course, there are people who have learned two, maybe even three. First, I'll explain the more complicated Creation. Creation magic is to create something you imagine. There are three layers to this magic there is; Short Term, Long Term, and Permanent.
Short Term uses little mana. The time it disappears is relative to the amount of mana used. They explained that there's no real way to gauge how much mana is used. It's more of a feeling.
For Long Term, a creation can last up to a year if your mana stat is at least 3. The creation can be changed, but in order to change, it has to have a connection to the current creation. An example is a knife to a sword. Although not as much, changing a creation will cost the current owner's mana. And of course, you can create other things while already having a creation.
Mana Crystals can be used as a medium to make creation last longer. But of course, using Mana Crystals would never make a creation permanent, no matter how much mana it has.
And then there's Permanent. A permanent creation can only be made with a stat of 5 mana or more, depending on the object.
Permanent creations can be unsummoned or summoned at any time. The creation can also transfer ownership at the mana cost of the current user.
Trin explained that just because people can create weapons and such doesn't mean that they're ahead of people in terms of said weapons. The reason is that weapons can be made with Mana Crystals, and the Dwarves are experts in this field. The strength of a weapon depends on the process it was made, the mana of the crystal, and the mana of the maker. Permanebt buffs can also be added in the permanent creation.
'It's an interesting magic, but I don't know if I'm suited for it. Maybe I'll ask the two for their opinion."
Next is Elemental magic. As the name suggests, it literally means elements, such as the commonly seen: fire, water, earth, and wind. Of course, there are sub elements that are more uncommon or even rare to encounter, such as dark, light, lightning, acid, nature, and metal.
Sung said that there are people out there who have more than 10 stat in their mana and create their own element. I can only imagine which ones they are.
Next is Amplification. This magic is one of the most commonly learned magic because of its practicality and simplicity. The reason a lot of people learn it is because all people have some sort of weakness in their stat, something that hinders them. The mana usage of this magic is low as well.
This magic Amplifies either strength, agility, perception, or five senses, or it can be all of what was mentioned, though, that will consume more mana. It can also amplify self-healing. And of course, it can only be used on yourself. It can also amplify an object that the user is touching, from armor to weapon. How long Amplification lasts depends on the amount of mana used.
'This magic is definitely practical, I can see how low mana people would be able to fight against high mana, although if a high mana person learns this, I wonder what would happen,' I thought to myself as I continue to analyze the information I have learned.
Next is Miracle. This magic is the most diverse from all five. This magic is the most complicated one. The magic can vary skills from healing to teleporting to small distances. There are some that can hide from the eyes of others. Trin stated that this magic is so diverse that there might be undiscovered skills.
'This is a really interesting skill, I like the idea of teleporting, especially when I said I'd like to be an assassin.'
And finally, the last magic, Transformation. It's simple yet complicated magic. It can transform the user to either an animal or just their structures. What makes it complicated is that a person would never be able to change their outer appearance, meaning changing face is impossible.
But of course, there's one race that specialized in this magic for a long time, they are the merfolks who have developed this magic for decades, due to their curiosity and desire to walk on land. There are some people who can fully transform their body into stone or metal, giving them protection.
'I guess what Lulu said at that time might actually happen now, except Transformation is a little different from how she expected it,' I chuckled.
While thinking of all this information, I eventually fell asleep.
***
I woke up feeling a bit refreshed.
'I'm still not used to how great the air is to breathe. Waking up feels more rewarding,' I sighed inwardly, thinking of how bad the air was on Earth.
I got up, then folded the futon and put it aside. I then stretched and proceeded to go to the bathroom to wash my face and brush my teeth.
'It's still weird how modern they are. They have bathtubs and showers, I used to think fantasy planets would use wells and such, but all of this is a good thing for me. I can never imagine myself not being able to wash my body properly.'
After that process, I went to the living room to find Trin and Lulu together, I greeted them.
"Good morning, you two."
"Good morning," the both of them replied. They continued to chat away.
'It seems like the both of them are getting along well.'
I went to the kitchen to get something to eat for breakfast. Though they're modern, the food they have can't really match against Earth food. That's what I think, at least. Maybe someday there will be a human chef who will introduce some Earth delicacy to this planet.
Placing the food on the table, I continued to think about the things that I would miss on Earth.
