'What time is it?' The queen anxiously wondered while navigating through the palace skies to reach her room.
When she finally saw it she breathed a sigh of relief and made sure to land on the balcony quietly in case her love was sleeping, which was the most likely case as the lights were off.
she walked in carefully while her wings disappeared from behind her. But all of her efforts of being quiet were useless as, in the corner of the room her baby was sitting all alone, looking at the wall with an angry pout.
Looking at her like that made the queen's chest hurt and she quickly rushed to comfort her love and apologize. she sat right beside her , picked her up, put her in her lap and hugged her tightly.
"I'm sorry baby , I'm really , really sorry. Mama got really busy. I promise, I tried my best to hurry but I got into some trouble. Please forgive me, hmm?"
Although, at that moment she was trying to cheer up and apologize to Reina, her own eyes were watering up looking at the birthday cake, on the table in front of her. The thing that broke her the most at that moment was that the candles on the cake were completely melted.
That made it evident that she must have waited for her until there were no more candles left to light up. she wanted there to be a way in which she could turn back time and leave that damned battle so she could reach here on time to celebrate Reina's birthday.
she tried to look up to avoid the tears falling from her eyes, but when she felt Reina sobbing in her arms, the tears kept falling with no sign of stopping.
After a while of them crying together, she felt Reina's breathing get even, and realized that she had fallen asleep. she tried to pick her up as gently as she could and lay her on the bed. Her baby was evidently tired as she didn't even move a little.
When she lay down on the bed, her half of our heart necklace shone in the moonlight. The queen couldn't stop herself from smiling, looking at the adorable little creature she birthed. Sometimes it was extremely hard for her to believe that Reina was actually her daughter, she was nothing like her when she was a child, and she didn't look much like her either.
'She looks like her father' she thought at that moment. It made her lose her smile. The encounter from today gave her many new problems to consider, like how someday Reina would mature and ask her about her father, how she wouldn't be able to avoid her ex-fiance forever and why she was about to transform once again today when she had already transformed six times that month.
The queen had a habit, whenever she would be deep in thought, she would unconsciously play with her half of Reina's and her heart necklace. Thus, when she was about to bring her hand up to her collarbone she suddenly realized that although she felt the cold sensation of the chain she couldn't feel the weight of the pendant.
Her hand flew up to her neck and indeed the pendant wasn't there. In her mind she was sure that she knew who had taken the necklace from her neck. It was a person who was fearless in front of her, a person who had enough practice of pickpocketing from her to become a perfect thief, a person who was taught what pickpocketing was from her and the only person around whom she had been distracted.
'FU**ING DYLAN ALEXANDER NORLAND'
At that moment Alexandria (the queen) really wanted to scream, shout, throw a tantrum and rip that 'motherf****r's' hands off to see how he'd be able to steal from her again. But at that time she was just too tired to do so. Additionally she also had her little cupcake in her arms, and it just felt soooo comfortable that she fell asleep leaving all her problems to be dealt with another day.
