As we set out on our mission, we were tasked by Mayor Caelia to locate three guardsmen. After a thorough search, we finally found them at Winter Northgard Inn and Tavern, where they had established their command post. Upon our arrival, we observed them in the midst of a heated discussion with the town guard heads, militia, and mercenaries. We could already hear the commotion within. The guardsmen were gathered around a large table, their voices raised in argument. The room was filled with an air of tension, and the few patrons present were keeping a wary distance from the chaos. As we walked into Winter Northgard Inn and Tavern, the warmth of the hearth fire greeted us. The scent of roasting meat and freshly baked bread filled the air and laughing and conversing made for an idyllic atmosphere. A few patrons sat at tables scattered throughout the room, sipping at their ale or wine, while others stood near the bar, chatting with the keeper.
