Chapter 10 - The first sight

How small could this world be? Even though it can hold more than a billion people, it's not enough for a person to turn around and not see a familiar face, and that is exactly the case with Ana. Three years, that is how much long it has taken for her to force that face, that sinfully handsome face, out of her sick head. But now that the said face is here in front of her eyes, it would be just a matter of a second before her head starts revolving around him again.

What is he doing here? Ana keeps pondering without much idea while standing like a stilled image.

"Come on, Ana. Go inside now, honey. Quick!" Ms. Marie urges her before walking away with the grocery list and bag in her hand. And as if that brought her back to her senses, she quickly dashes off with Lucy tailing behind her. The poor dog doesn't understand why her lady is running like that, nonetheless follows her suit.

"I'm sorry once again." The lady apologises. Perseus throws a light smile her way.

"Ay. That's all right. And besides, I'm okay. Nothing much. It just hit the toe of my right leg, I guess."

"Oh! Please, I insist you come to our house." She proposes pointing at the baby blue coloured house across the road. "I will be able to see if it's serious and do some first aid."

"That would be unnecessary. Trust me." He says before looking at the little girl with two pigtails mounted over the small pink bike. "Hey, baby! It's all right. But be careful from now on." The girl bobs her head with a cute pout. He passes her a smile and turns around, but he does not see her there anymore. Where did she go?

"Shit!" He curses out. "Umm..." He again looks back where the lady and her daughter are. "Did you, by any chance, notice where that girl went?"

"Sorry, which girl?"

"She was there, walking her dog just a while ago. Ana, yes, Ana!" That's the name he heard that aged lady calling her out.

"Ana? Oh, she stays in the house right there! She is the daughter of Brandon." The lady tells him, showing him their house.

"Thanks a lot! Nice to meet you, and you too, pumpkin!" With that being said, Perseus jogs off in the direction of that house. The house was almost like a mansion from the outside. Painted a combination of red and sap green, it looks royal. Is she the daughter of a rich man? The looks of it say it all. But, that won't be a problem for sure. After all, his father is also quite rich and known.

Shaking his head off that ridiculous thought, Perseus takes a good look at the nameplate, that reads the name of Brandon C. And then, walks off with the girl from earlier as the only thought on his mind. A smile, not hideous but genuine plasters across his lips as he utters,

"I'll find you, my sweet Ana."
