Some professors you know think the best way to get good evaluations from students is to be all buddy-buddy with them. That's not your style, and you don't see a lot of value in stressing out over evaluations. Do your best job and let the chips fall where they may.
A White man with messy brown hair and beard scruff. He's wearing a puffy sleeveless coat over a t-shirt.
You do speak to the earliest students. One, Erick, is uninterested in small talk, too, only pushing his brown flop of hair back and muttering, "Hi, Dr. .," before he slinks to a table.
A Latina woman with shoulder-length black hair and thick-rimmed rectangular glasses. She's wearing a plum tank top.
"Don't mind Erick," the student behind him says. "He's always grumpy. I'm Inez, and I'm not." She sticks out her hand, which you shake. "Try not to bore me too much." She winks from behind her thick-framed glasses and heads for a table next to Erick.
A White man with a crew cut and a supercilious expression. He's wearing a button-up shirt with the top two buttons undone.
"Forgive my fellow would-be practitioners," another student says. "I, for one, am keen to learn from you. Jayden." He shakes your hand like he's trying to pump water from a well. You mark him down as a bit of a brown-noser, an impression that his crew cut does little to dispel.
At the top of the hour, you stand up from your desk and take your position at the head of the class. The students quiet down. "Hello, everyone, I'm Dr. .. Welcome to Beginning Summoning."
