Vivian's lips quirk with a ghost of a smile. "Perhaps I would. You're playing the game, Agad the Imperishable, not that I'd hold it against you. Owing a favor is not something to be taken lightly. If you don't mind, I'd also like to ask about the state in which you found my home. And my servants—I'm told that they were poisoned. Do you have any insights that Qui may have missed?"
"What?" Vivian asks. "Why stab himself if he was already poisoned?"
"Well, like," Jordan says uncomfortably. "He was probably in a lot of pain. Wanted to end it quicker."
Vivian regains her composure. "Ah yes, that makes sense. I forget how fragile mortals can be." She checks an ornate wristwatch. "Would you mind if I took a moment to speak with Ms. Tremblay in private, Agad the Imperishable?"
You look to Jordan and she nods. "It's okay. We'll talk later."
You step away, uncomfortable with the sudden dismissal but disinclined to force yourself into the conversation when Jordan doesn't seem overly bothered. No doubt you'll hear all about it the next time you see her.
