"You think that this place has one of those?" Sonia asks without much hope. "I mean, it's a magical, invisible prison. What are you hoping for, shoddy craftsmanship?"
You ignore her, starting to feel around the walls, going entirely by touch. Whether or not they think that your idea has much hope to it, the others begin to run their hands over the unseen barriers as well, searching for something that might not even be there.
For over a minute, you search in silence, and your heart is just starting to sink when you hear a gasp from behind you.
"Here!" Val cries. "It's…I don't know how to describe it—it's got some give to it. Here, help me push through."
The rest of you pile around the vampire, pushing and straining against the invisible barrier. As she's described, it's as though the wall itself is…flexing under your hands, shifting back under pressure. Confidence building up within you, you strain as hard as you can, trying to force your way through it…
…and suddenly, there's nothing there at all.
You have a brief, regretful moment of prescience of the next several seconds, then they happen. Buried under the bulk of two werewolves, two vampires, two humans, a cyborg-zombie, and a specter who apparently didn't want to feel left out, you gasp for breath until the team pulls itself off you.
Standing, though too winded to talk, you point forward. The rest of them seem to get the message.
Now freed from your unseen prison, you walk on through the grounds, not encountering any more obstacles or any resistance. Before long, you're standing at the thin wooden fence that separates Cavalcade Academy from St. Mary's.
