Grace gives a slight cough, looking nervous. "I…well, I think that's supposed to be me," she says. "They mentioned something about an examination; it was supposed to be helpful?"
Matron's eyes turn on the St. Mary's girl, scrutinizing her keenly. "I see," they say eventually. "Well, it's certainly true that I could glean information from such a procedure: what has touched your mind, what manner of creature it was. The question we will not know the answer to is…why?"
"Whatever's doing it is called Renzfal," you say. "It was in Grace's head too."
Matron doesn't speak for a moment, their eyes still on Grace. Finally, they shrug. "I don't know the name," they say. "Was there anything else? Anything at all?"
"Kan had a vision," Renault announces, drifting to your side. "He saw something when we were separated, didn't you?"
You nod as the full force of Matron's gaze sweeps around to you. "Another vision?" they say, their eyes narrowing slightly. "How very coincidental. And tell me, Kan, what did you see during this second vision?"
