Sonia and Val both gaze at you for several long moments, and you try not to show any discomfort at being scrutinized by two sets of crimson eyes. It is, you have to admit, an intense experience.
Then Sonia gives a short nod. "It's not the worst idea," she admits. "I'll bet we can find a few books on that in the school library." She shoots a sidelong glance at Val. "Quite a lot of them written by vampires, if I'm any judge."
Val doesn't respond, but the expression on her face before she turns away seems more thoughtful than disappointed.
"Still," Sonia says, "we have a job to do first." She jerks her thumb in the general direction of the main doors. "Let's get this done, then we can do some homework."
"Let's get going," you say, starting forward again. "The others should be ready now."
