The stork had a strange day today.
He just had his first chicks not long ago, and as the head of the new family, he had a lot of trouble filling the boundless stomach of theirs. He was getting hungry, and he was really tired of constantly hunting all day and night. Just as he was about to head back to the nest and take a well-deserved rest, he suddenly heard a very loud frog croaking.
Though he knew he was too tired to successfully hunt down a frog now, he just couldn't resist the temptation of filling his empty stomach. So, he headed towards the source of the sounds, and it didn't take long for him to find the big green frog sitting in the sand in the open.
The stork's eyes shined as he noticed that the frog still didn't know he was there. And as he was getting closer and closer to his unsuspecting prey, his heart started to beat faster with the thought of a delicious dinner getting firmer. But just as he was a few meters away from the frog, it suddenly turned its head back.
The stork really wanted to curse the frogs and their unfairly overpowered danger sense.
Knowing he was busted, he tried to speed up, but deep inside, he knew it would be hard to catch the frog if not for a miracle. And to the disbelief of the stork, the miracle really just happened; maybe the stork gods were kind today.
Actually, the miracle didn't really 'came' but it was actually there the whole time because the frog, like an idiot, fell face first into the sand.
The stork felt a little relieved, and his horizons really broadened a lot today. Who knew there were frogs in this world who couldn't jump? But he didn't delve into the matter and just focused on catching his prey. There was only a meter remaining between him and the lunch.
It was so close, yet so far.
Maybe Gods weren't the only ones watching today, probably the devils were also at play as the frog gathered itself and suddenly jumped away. Just as the stork was about to grab it and fly away.
Feeling a little disappointed and angry, the stork was about to turn back and fly back home with an empty stomach, but then he noticed something strange about the frog that made him change his mind.
'Haha, I knew the gods were with me today and gave me a stupid frog as a reward!'
The stork happily laughed inside and started to pick up his speed again as the idiotic green frog landed head-first into the sand.
