After doing her work in the morning, Edna saw the carriage arriving before it left again. It looked like her master had left once more. It was time for Edna to return to get her work and do whatever she could in this mansion.
Edna returned to the garden in the back to inspect a long-dead fountain statue. Yesterday, she saw a section of pipe in the ground that was leaking water when she tried to turn on the faucet. Edna had to dig the leaking part, then found the broken part of the pipe.
With the ability and simple knowledge that she had while working at the residence of the Westfall family, Edna wrapped the broken part with the leather cloth she found in the mansion's storage.
What she did was successful and the water was flowing again. The water that came out was quite smelly and full of moss. Edna only needed to clean it again because it was natural for it to happen.
CIRP CIRP CIRP!
Edna looked around as she was about to leave the garden. It felt like she heard the sound of bird chirping. Since she lived in the mansion, she never once heard the sound of birds. The aura of the mansion seemed to drive away the animals. Not even the sounds of night animals could be heard.
Edna looked for the whereabouts of the bird that hadn't stopped chirping. She opened the bushes whose branches were quite sharp.
She then saw a small bird chirping. Its leg was broken and many ants began to swarm around it. Edna immediately helped the bird and saved it from the swarm of ants.
She decided to bring the bird into her room. When she tried to get out of the bushes, the sharp end of the branch accidentally scraped her neck until it bled.
Edna rushed to her room. She put the bird she saved on her bed and took the blood that was coming out of her neck. With that tiny drop of blood, Edna applied it to the bird's broken leg.
A faint light shone from the bird's wound, and immediately the bird was able to straighten its legs again. It chirped again a few times. Edna, who was pleased to be able to successfully treat the bird, clapped her hands excitedly.
She was about to open her bedroom window to let the bird fly back into the wild, but suddenly there was a loud bang on the door, making Edna surprised because there was no one else besides her in the mansion at the moment. Luca, as well as Lord Maximillian, were away to carry out their mission in the city.
With fear, Edna opened the door slowly.
"Human," called someone in a familiar voice.
Instantly, Edna had goosebumps. It was her master, Lord Maximilian. She immediately opened the door. Her feet froze at the sight of a tall, red-haired man wearing a robe, revealing his bare chest in front of her.
"I smell blood."
"B-blood?"
Edna raised her hand to hide the sound of her racing heart.
She didn't even dare to lift her face. Her heart was filled with fear. The image of yesterday's incident rushed back, making Edna tightly shut her mouth. She was afraid that if she let out her voice, then she would be scolded like yesterday.
SNIFF…
Edna nearly fell backward when Lord Maximillian came swiftly over to sniff her.
"Human?" asked Maximilian once more. The man frowned in confusion upon seeing the boy in front of him. His eyes then fell on the small graze on the neck.
The scent of the boy's blood was very strong. Even Maximillian who was resting in his room was shocked when he smelled it for the first time. The boy before him had a scent of blood that was different from the blood of other humans.
It was sweet and enticing.
It was not supposed to be like this. Humans should have the repulsive scent of blood, like garbage that was left for a long time and started surrounded by a lot of flies.
Maximillian's hand gripped the neck of the boy named Eden. He saw the fear that radiated on Eden's face. He smiled slyly. The boy was afraid of him. Yes, that was how it should be. Human should know their place.
He was a great being. All creatures, especially humans, which were the lowest, had to feel afraid in front of him. He gripped Edna's neck tighter and using his long and sharp fingernails, he scratched the skin of the boy's neck, causing fresh blood to come out again.
Maximillian had never smelled a scent like this before.
"I don't think you're just an ordinary human."
Maximillian let go of his grip that almost broke the boy's neck. Edna, who was scared half to death, fell to the floor, looking at her master who licked the blood on his hand.
Maximillian's eyes widened in surprise. The man suddenly turned around and hurriedly left Edna who still couldn't process what happened just now.
Everything went by so fast. There was a knock on her bedroom door, her master appeared only to strangle her neck, injured her, then said her blood was different.
Who was the man? Why was he talking like he wasn't human?

Maximilian returned to his room with a gasp. He held his neck which suddenly felt very thirsty. He had never felt this in his life. He was not a creature that lived by drinking someone's blood. He ate like any other creature. But after tasting a drop of human blood, why did he feel something like this?
"Is this poison? Impossible. I am immune to all kinds of poison in this world. Nothing could ever make me like this."
His body suddenly felt hot. There was an urge to do something. He then saw the lower half of his body react. A deep frown formed on his forehead because he hadn't felt a sexual urge in a long time. And it was much stronger than he had ever felt. What happened?
"Ugh… damn it. This hurts…"
