I waited for Grey to start explaining to me what was going on. For some reason, he seemed uncomfortable being around me.
"Okay, so how much do you know?" he finally asked.
"I don't know anything, except that there's a narrator and dream hunter, and now you said there's something like a dream master as well?" I looked at him puzzled and confused by everything that had happened.
My dress was torn, for some reason no matter what happened in my last dreams, I woke up clean in the next one.
"Okay, so you know Ned, the one you call narrator..."
"HIS NAME IS NED?!!" I unexpectedly shouted louder than I had intended. Grey grabbed his ears and rolled on his side.
"Agh, yes his name is Ned! What did you think his name was? Narrator?"
"But that's what he told me his name was!"
"Ah, ... Was I perhaps not supposed to tell you?" Grey tried remembering Ned telling him not to mention his name in front of dreamers. "Oh man, he is going to yell at me all night".
"Hey! Focus! Tell me what you know"
"Based on what you told me you know, it seems like there has been a problem in your dream diary" he paused, "Ah, a dream diary is where every dreamer's dream is recorded and played accordingly," he explained.
"And Ned was assigned to narrate from my dream diary?"
"Correct".
"Okay, and what exactly is going on right now?"
"Hmm, It is more complex to explain everything while sitting here, we have to move to the beginning of the dream, apparently the dream hunter is chasing you"
"Who is this dream hunter? Why is he obsessed with me?"
"I'll explain as soon as we get there"
Grey stood and held out his hand for me to grab, I had no choice but to follow the person who could give me any bit of information, even though I did not enjoy being around him.
"Okay, whatever you do, do not let go of my hand." He instructed in a serious tone. I nodded in agreement and held onto his hand.
He opened the door and it suddenly felt like the space was trying to suck us outside. Grey took a step and the next thing I knew, we were at the beach again.
I let out the breath I had subconsciously held in and let my feet rest in the warm sand.
Grey looked around nervously and started pacing back and forth.
"Ned!" He called out.
"..."
"Ned, this isn't funny come out already!"
Suddenly one of the windows in the ship exploded and Ned came flying out and he crashed a few feet away from me.
"Oh My God!" I was astonished and I ran towards him.
Ned saw me and with a horrified look he looked at Grey and shouted, "WHY DID YOU BRING HER HERE?"
"What? You told me to!!!"
"Didn't Emily tell you to take Mary to the third trial?" Ned struggled to stand up.
"You asked Emily?! You know she wants nothing to do with me!"
Grey suddenly realized something was off and dashed toward me, "MARY! RUN!"
But before I could react a hand grabbed my neck and pushed me down. I did not have time to react. I couldn't see their face, but the uniform seemed like the one Henson was wearing.
"Let her go!!!" Ned shouted.
The sand started absorbing my body into it and I tried gasping for air. But the hand suddenly pushed me inside the sand and I was now falling into a sinkhole.
I could not see the figure that pushed me, but all I heard was, "Find the missing piece before my master finds you..."
A very familiar voice.
"Henso..."
I barely managed before being impaled through my gut by a large needle present in the bottom of the sinkhole.
