Even as she stood in the middle of a rowdy club dancehall with her friends dancing around her, Evelyn felt utterly alone. One month wasn't nearly enough to get over her break up with Matthew her boyfriend, now ex-boyfriend. She was in her final year in college and he has been her only boyfriend since her first year. Their break up came as a shock, she actually thought her and Matthew were going to be together forever. But he had plans of relocating to another country, and this had made them anxious about their future. A break up was inevitable. But she missed him, despite being at a party with her friends and in the midst of happy people, she still felt completely lost and lonely.
Clenching her fist, she walked off in no particular direction. She worked her way through the crowd unnoticed by her friends and everyone around. What in the heck was she going to do without Matthew? It's been one month now, and she still hasn't figured it out. It's like her life was put on pause after their breakup. They had so many plans together, until this opportunity to travel out of the country came up. She clenched her fist again, calming her nerves. How could he just turn his back on what they had just for an opportunity to leave the country? She thought angrily. By this time she had gotten to the main entrance of the club. What was she doing? Was she leaving without telling her friends? She thought within herself, surprised at how subconsciously she had walked out of the party.
"Hey beautiful, leaving the party already?" A male voice called out to her. The voice was unfamiliar to Evelyn, so she looked up to see who had spoken to her.
