"Look Peyton, I know how this might feel to you, but, the mentor has really struggled to get any better with just martial arts, and you know, if we are not barbarians, we can't really grow any stronger without using a fortune to gain more strength," Austen explained.
"Yeah," Peyton replied.
It was true. For a non-magician to get stronger, they had to at least exercise for 5 years to have a strong enough body to be on par with mediocre martial artists, and then another few years to master their particular martial arts.
After they were done with the martial arts that only focused on using the hands and the legs or other parts of the body for attacking, they would immediately focus on mastering weapons.
And in total, if they were to successfully master the martial arts in all the areas which their specific martial art discipline was to teach them, it would take them at the very least 20-50 years to reach the peak of martial arts.
