Chapter 7 - Chapter 7: A Wedding Party

Days passed by for Juan like nothing ever happened. He returned to his taciturn personality, with only the text box giving him a joy every morning.

On the sixth day since he got the job.

Juan opened the door and walked out of the house. Seeing that the sun has already been above the morning sky Juan smiled while wearing his casual white shirt, black long pants with a belt already on, and his only leather shoes.

He got a sky-blue handkerchief at the back of his pants already pocketed. Since it was Saturday today, a weekend for work, Juan was free to attend his former crush's wedding ceremony. "Are they done changing?"

He followed the small path with a wooden fence on both sides. He arrived in a half-cemented wooden house that clearly shows the owners above-commoner status. There he saw Art wearing clothes like himself but with a blazer on top of his shirt.

Brooooom! Broom! Broom!

"Are we going to ride your father's motorcycle? I thought we were going there by commuting," Juan said as he neared Art, who was riding the already cranked-on old model motorcycle of his father. Art's father shouldn't be so generous as to let his son borrow his ride.

So Juan looked at Art curiously and said, "I know your father and what he liked. Tell me, how did you do it?" Hearing Juan's curiosity was piqued with awed face, Art laughed happily.

He shrugged his shoulders as he said, "Bro, such a problem can be said to have been solved using the power of money. Who doesn't like money?"

Art laughed without care as his hand kept pulling down the handle, making a broom-broom noise. Juan didn't like the noise or the smell of gas smoke.

But he reigns it in, as he doesn't want to create an awkward scene. "Where's Draw?" Art asked, seeing that Juan was the only one here yet.

Meanwhile, Juan shrugged as he said, "I thought he was here with you already. But, don't worry. Since you had already started the motorcycle, he would surely hear it. Anyway, do you have your invitation?"

Art nodded, and he took out his invitation. "Even if we lost it, who can stop us from attending? With so many of our former classmates there, who won't be able to recognize us?"

At the same time, Draw appeared at the entrance. "Guys, I thought you already left me. If not for Uncle, who I passed by just now and told me you borrowed his ride, I would have thought you two already left me."

"Come on, don't dilly-dally there and come at the back. We're going now." Art laughed as he gestured them to the seat at the back. Juan and Draw nodded before the two rode on the seat at the back.

"Careful, I used Kiwi on my shoes to make them look brand new." Draw joked around, making the two laugh. "Stop! I can feel my strength leaving me from laughing too much. If you don't want your ride to fly or slide away, then save your joke after we cross the road."

Draw and Juan chuckled, making Art's serious face crumble. It took some minutes before Art finally found some strength to move the motorcycle vehicle forward. "Finally, it's windy. It's too hot wearing this suit."

Art murmured with sweat on his forehead as he drove the motorcycle out of the small path and then to the main road. Juan waved at his parents, chit-chatting with the neighbors, and to the uncles and aunties he had together with the two.

"Well, be back!"

...

Brooooooooooooom!

Zooming in and out of every passerby's eyes. Art, Draw, and Juan enjoyed the breeze brought by their rides speed. Juan suddenly laughed as he noticed Draw's hair seemed to be gelled. However, the style seems to have gone awry because of the wind.

Draw was helpless, even with his two hands trying to hold his hairstyle down. Art, who had noticed the laugher at the back, had seen all of this in the side mirror. He couldn't help but laugh because of that.

Art once again felt his strength leave him from laughing too much. And the results, to avoid any accidents on the road. Their speed naturally slows down considerably.

Calming down, Juan leisurely thought. When he saves enough money, he will buy a motorcycle for himself first. So he can save time from going to work and returning home. Commuting costs too much money; it's better to walk since he the work is can be reached rather shortly.

But now, since he had one tiring job already, If he still walked back home every day, then his body might really not take it. Juan immediately calculated in his mind as they passed through the entrance of the city.

A motorcycle that he wants will cost between 90,000 and 150,000. If he wants to have that much money early on, then he can only solve that using magic. Like materialization magic that makes imagined things become reality.

However, that would be too much trouble thereafter. After all, the source came from the unknown. When he goes to register in the future, He might get caught up in the process of questioning.

In the worst case, his ride would be stolen in the name of confiscation. So why not use magic that can make money fast? Right, he can just make money using magic! He would try that next time.

For now, safety comes first, so he would accumulate enough ritual magic points to create more consumable healing magic. Still, just the thought of that magic circle back then.

If he can learn the meaning of its symbols and language. Wouldn't he be creating magic without doing rituals anymore? So, in short, After having enough healing magic, he would go for making money magic.

After good health, it would be money. Soon, the ride passes through many streets and crowded highways before stopping at the park in front of the large restaurant owned by Mylene's husband and Carl's parents.

Stepping down from the motorcycle, Juan and Draw blew a whistle in the air, looking rather surprised by the medium-sized restaurant in front of them. "Looks like it's true that no pretty woman would settle for less," the latter said with some enviousness in his voice.

Juan, however, only reacted superficially, in his heart. He was anticipating the future; he can also have that kind of business. Money would then flow to him, not the other way around. Then, would he still tire himself out to go to work every day?

Yes, at least the job can become more of a hobby. Art was parking the motorcycle in the two-wheeled vehicle parking lane before he returned. "Let's go." They nodded as they stepped forward towards the entrance while taking out their respective invitations.

Soon they were welcomed by the valet at the entrance: "Good morning, sir. Do the three of you have the wedding invitation envelope?" Juan, Draw, and Art, um, took theirs to show. "May I open them?"

After receiving the envelopes, the valet nodded as he smiled. He immediately opened the door, and a waitress bowed a bit before she spoke. "Please do follow me, sirs." Then they were led to the second floor, where the bustle was already ringing out from the doorway.

Art couldn't help but click his tongue out: "Man, look at this building; it's quite big, isn't it?" Draw and Juan nodded, as they all had the same notion in mind.

Carl is a rich kid!

And so that's the reason why Mylene married him. The reason is because he is rich and can provide her with what she needs and wants. It's not that they were ridiculing her; they were just letting out what they felt. That all women are the same.

At the same time, she made the right choice. In Juan's heart, Mylene did indeed make the right choice. Why marry for less and be plagued by all sorts of hardships thereafter when one can be in peace and relax in the hands of the rich, provided that one is a beauty?

Love is only good if there's no stupidity mixed within it. Don't sacrifice in the name of love; instead, try to solve all the problems with planning and success in life before one's love blooms rotten with responsibilities and spurs many problems.

After all, what can love give you if it's already gray? Juan thought, and he was even more determined to make more money so that he could achieve something he could only look up to in movies.

Thinking about that, Juan smiled as he suddenly thought of the text box. Then the text box immediately appeared, like it knew what he was thinking of. Only with the help of this text box can he achieve even the almost impossible dream he has!

"After I return tonight, I'll study all those mysterious entities, legends, myths, and all kinds of folklore of many strange beings. I'll learn all their powers and abilities and find the suitable ones to achieve what I want to have." Juan mumbled softly with his mouth.

"Did you say something, Juan?" Art, who was closest to him, seems to have heard him murmuring but hadn't really heard it clearly, so he asked curiously. Juan shook his head as he replied casually, "I'm just mumbling about how long I can earn enough money to buy myself a motorcycle."

Art and Draw chuckled hearing that, and the latter immediately said, "In a year maybe? By that time, don't forget to let me have a try, okay?" Juan nodded as he laughed, "Of course. Just don't damage it, or you'll pay for the repairs." "Naturally."

"Also, don't forget that we should do some joyride too. Well, ride your bike to the farther place and visit the places we haven't reached yet." Art suddenly chimed in excitedly. Draw's eyes lit up. "Why not visit our former classmates houses too along the way? And our relatives and friends?"

Juan nodded as he agreed, "Then wouldn't I have to choose one that has more space to sit on?" Hearing this, a funny feeling immediately welled up in their stomachs as they laughed heartily.

Soon, they arrived inside the large room of the wedding party. Juan and the others immediately found someone they knew among the people around them.

It was their classmates who were forming a circle as they chatted on in their beautiful casual dresses, looking both handsome and pretty.

"Looks who's here, if it isn't my best buddy in high school! Art! Long time no see!" Suddenly a tall young man wearing a black business suit with slick black hair appeared holding a glass of wine as he suddenly pulled Art into his embrace before they parted with a punch on the chest.

"Sup man, you've grown taller than I am now, haven't you? Still, you've grown to such heights; how about we have some reminiscing after sometime? I had Juan and Draw with me."

"Sup." Draw got a high five as they smiled upon meeting each other. Somehow, this meeting seems like a reunion instead of a wedding. Soon, the other young men's classmates gathered around them as they slowly chatted about their time in high school.

Naturally, their circle wasn't the only one, so they had no need to worry about their own bustles. After enjoying some talks, Juan, Art, and Draw didn't just stand there and keep talking. They had come here for a wedding party.

That means the wedding has already been done; they only need to wait for the groom and the bride to appear on stage. However, looking at the food spread around the table, Juan, Draw, and Art looked at each other as they seemed to have understood each other's intentions.

Juan was the first to make up his mind as he nodded at the two. Following that, he secretly walked towards the table and picked up a plate of a whole 'lechon manok'. At the same time, he opened the food cover for rice and scooped some bowls for himself.

Afterwards, he moved away like a ninja and disappeared on the veranda, where he wouldn't be seen. Art and Draw's eyes sparkle at Juan's performance. They have been observing him as well as the others, and it seems no one has found out what he was doing at all.

Gulp.

Feeling helpless, they can only succumb to their stomachs, as they find it hard to contain their saliva from dripping out of their mouth. "Let's do this!" In every ceremony, naturally, it's the food that is important and not the event or speaker to listen to.

Only food can bring joy and attraction to human lives. With Juan's example, Draw and Art unhurriedly followed suit. They chatted normally, as though they had found a funny topic.

Then, when they saw that no one was looking, they hurriedly picked up a plate of food and then scooped some bowls of rice before running away like ninjas with spoons towards the veranda, hiding like thieves.

What they didn't know was that many had seen them, but everyone who did acted like they hadn't. They too understood that if they weren't that busy socializing around, It would be them that would be doing that.

After all, who can resist the plethora of dishes on the table? At the same time, a lady in braided hair with bangs hiding her whole face to be seen and seeming to be wearing intelligent eyeglasses looked deeply at the trio silently.

She wore a very conservative, loose casual dress, but it couldn't seem to hide that she was hiding more than met the eye inside. "Hey, you seem to be staring at those three idiots too much. Do you like someone among them?"

Another lady beside her can't help but joke around after seeing her staring at those three for so long, even when they disappeared on the veranda. The conservative lady just smiled, but she didn't say anything.

...

Outside the room, on the veranda "Although it's hot outside, it isn't a problem since the room inside is much colder, which would blow some cold air towards us on the veranda," Draw said as he couldn't help but blow some air to the still hot rice on his plate.

"You eat too much; it is easy to choke with that. Careful, we didn't bring any drinks with us," Art said carefully as he slurped on the pasta in his bowl. "What about this?" Draw pointed at the wine on the fence.

Juan rolled his eyes. "Do you want to get drunk early on? On this kind of occasion, we need to wait for the night for the drunk party." Then he neared Art and pointed at his bowl. "Let's trade some."

Art agreed, "Alright. How about you, Draw?" Naturally, Draw wouldn't refuse the offer. "Of course." The former then continued jokingly, "Then come here and don't make me do it." Juan and Draw laughed.

Amidst the heat of the sun and the sweat oozing out of their pores. The trio didn't take too much time before they had their fill of lunch. Burped. The three looked at each other's empty plates and glasses of wine before they smiled, leaning on the walls in satisfaction.

"I think we already achieved what we came here for," Draw subconsciously said leisurely amidst his burping mouth. Juan and Art chuckled for a while when suddenly they heard the noise inside the room quiet down.

Soon the emcee announced the welcoming of the groom and bride. The three immediately looked at each other before standing straight to check on themselves. Although they were a bit sweaty, they each had their ways.

Juan put a towel in his pocket before drying his face and neck from sweat. After that, he calmly entered the room without making any attention or noise, as he soon found a good spot with the other boys to applaud like them. Art and Draw ñ also followed suit.

Their classmates only glanced at them mischievously before returning their attention to today's protagonist and heroine. Juan, Draw, and Art only smiled back as though they were oblivious to the meaning behind their smile.

Both the groom and the bride, in their handsome and beautiful wedding clothes, slowly stepped forward on the pedestal prepared for them to walk. Holding hands while surrounded by everyone's eyes.

They looked at each other rather lovely; their smiles looked so sweet that those single dogs around them went green from eating too much sugar. Juan somehow felt warm in his heart, although he didn't get to have her love.

He felt liberated; his heart felt much lighter, and he even felt somewhat comforted as he thought he had finally let go of an obsession he had been keeping deep in his heart without knowing. Juan immediately thought of his other crushes in the past.

If he saw them already having partners in life. Would he experience this kind of feeling again? Nah, if he found them having problems because of poverty or other related difficulties in life right now,

Instead of feeling liberated, he might feel somewhat heavy instead. Juan returned his attention to the protagonists of today. The after-wedding ceremony continued as the whole room was filled with a pinkish feel coming from the groom and the bride.

Everyone laughed at the emcee's joke as well as the guest remarks. Naturally, everyone praised them for a happy family and a long life. When it was time for the meal, Juan, Draw, and Art once again took on the stance of being ready for another battle.

Juan's former classmate couldn't help but jokingly ask, although he already knew the answer. His friends chuckled, remembering what had just happened a while ago. "Still isn't full yet?"

Juan, however, showed a poker face, as though his innocence was being wrongly accused. He knew that his former classmates were teasing him, so how could he admit it? He pointed at Draw and Art, as he righteously said. "It's them; I saw them taking two dishes back then. I'm not an accomplice."

Draw and Art looked at Juan as though their trusted comrade had suddenly turned into the most vicious traitor. However, Juan was already behind the others, smiling and giving them a funny face.

"Damn you, traitor!" Art and Draw could feel many eyes on them as they wailed in their hearts. They swear to take revenge after they had their second fill.
