(Jon POV)
"Sansa!!!" I shout for what seems like the thousandth time as I rush through the forest.
"Sansa can you hear me where are you!!!" the panic in my chest growing heavier and heavier as I try to navigate my way through this dark place.
"I'm here Jon" I hear Sansa shout about a few dozen feet away from me but since it's so dark I can't see her.
"I'm coming Sansa, just stay put!" I shout as I run in the direction I heard her voice.
But as I approach the place where the heard her voice I don't see anyone here "Sansa! Where are you"I shout while whipping the torch back and forth.
"Down here silly" Sansa says down by my feet.
As I look down I suddenly feel sick as I see a half decomposed corpse with it's eyes still moving and looking at me. I fight the urge to vomit as I start to tremble 'this can't be real none of this makes any sense' I say to myself to try and gain some small measure of comfort.
*Giggling*
I look down at the corpse which has started laughing at me to the point that the corpses jaw has fallen off "YOU ARE NOT REAL!" I shout while shoving my torch into its mouth the body erupting in flames. The brightness is too much for my eyes so I cover them but when I move my hand back down the boys is gone.
"This can't be real" I say in a pathetically sad voice as my situation starts to overwhelm me. It reminds me of what my father told me once.
(Flashback)
Jon is currently sitting by his father in the great hall, only then two are awake as Ned found Jon hiding under his bed when a nasty gust of wind blew his candles out.
"It's okay to be scared Jon but don't forget that the only person you'll have to face in the dark is yourself and whatever demons you come up with" Ned says in a light tone
"In the absence of light it gives our mind time to reflect on what we fear, what we regret and the horror of losing people we care about" as he says this he puts a hand on Jon's shoulder.
"Just be brave and calm it may not be easy but even the darkest moments of your life have some light in them "Ned says with a smile
(Flashback end)
I close my eyes and take a deep breath and steady myself 'Im fine' I repeat to myself and then I open my eyes again 'but Sansa isn't and she doesn't have any light' I say with new determination.
I keep walking back the way I came at least I think it's the way I came, hopefully I'll be able to find some tracks that might lead me to Sansa.
*whispers*
I keep walking with my back straight and my head up looking for any sign that Sansa might be in the area.
*Loud Whispers*
'Be brave just like father said' I think to myself while ignoring the increasingly closer whispering.
(Undermined time later)
"Jon, Jon Jon come back" I hear "Arya" say while I continue looking for tracks
"Brother please don't leave I need you I can't move I think I've broken my leg" "Rob" says while sounding barely coherent.
I clench my fists as I keep walking ignoring the voices coming from the dark.
"I thought better of you"
I hear a voice that makes me stop dead 'it can't be him' I think while shaking.
"My son would never abandon his family" "Lord Stark" states with disgust in his voice "I'm glad your mother isn't alive to see what you've become" he continues.
I feel a heat well up inside me as I stand there with the voices getting closer and closer
"You should've been sent to the wall sooner"
"You just wanted Winterfell for yourself"
"Covetous bastard"
"Born of sin"
"Nobody loves you"
Finally I couldn't take it anymore and the heat inside of me just exploded.
"FUCK OFF" I scream, at the same time the torch in my hand explodes in a huge ball of flames illuminating the entire area.
*Screeching*
Finally the voices stop and the only sounds I can hear are my own breath. I feel tired though as I decide to sit down for a minute.
'If it was all in my head what was that noise I heard at the end' I wondered as I tried to regain some energy 'and what in the seven hells happened to my torch, did I do that' I wondered.
I get back up and keep walking on, I then discover something in the distance a fire, it's small but it's definitely real.
I start running towards it as quick as I can without falling over. As I get closer I start to see a figure who is illuminated by the fire.
'It's Sansa!' I think to myself in excitement and a small measure of relief as well "Sansa!!!" I shout at her only for her to look up with a teary expression and start backing away from me.
"No no no you're not real you're not dead you're not real" she cries out while backing away on her hands and legs.
I catch up to her and put the torch down next to us and hug her "it's okay Sansa it's really me I'm real whatever you saw wasn't me" I say in a comforting manner.
Sansa loses control and starts crying inconsolably and hugs herself into my shoulder "Jon it was horrible! One moment you were there and the next you were gone and I didn't know what to do" she says talking into my neck.
"Where did you get the fire from" I ask while still hugging her.
"You left the knapsack with me, so I tore off a piece of my dress and soaked it then used the flint with a rock I found while feeling my way along the forest floor" she says while looking up at me tear marks streaked down her face.
"It was horrible the voices said to come and play with them to come and join the children, they said you were with them already and then I heard your voice speaking out of the darkness" Sansa says doing her best to not cry again.
"When I wouldn't come they got angry and said that the light I had would die and when the light dies so would I" she loses her composure again and starts crying hugging back into me while I continue to rub her back.
"It's okay they're gone now" I say calmly.
"Something happened while they were with me and it seemed to have scared whatever it was away" I say removing her head from my neck.
"We should take this opportunity to get out of here, we don't want them to come back while we are still here" I tell her.
Sansa nods her head and takes a hold of my hand "We won't get separated this way" I nod back at her and we continue moving through the forest.
(A time later)
"Look Sansa there's light shining through there" I point to the distance
"Hurry let's go" she drags my hand and runs ahead of me with me running along
"Don't leave us"
"The Children want to play"
'Shit' I think to myself, I then give Sansa the torch and quickly put her on my shoulder and run at full speed.
"If anything gets close burn them" I say to her while breathing heavily, my muscles straining even though Sansa was light I wasn't in peak condition at the moment.
*The light you have will die*
*You'll never see daylight again*
The voice was getting closer and closer, I still had a tiny bit left to run so I told Sansa the only idea I had at the time
"Throw the torch Sansa" I say
"What!" She says to me like I'm half mad.
"Just throw the damn thing" I repeat myself.
Sansa throws it and I jump through the hole in the brush that the light was coming out of. As I turn in mid air i see the light illuminating what looks to be a sea of moving shadows in the shape of people but that's all I see before we both hit the other side of the bush and are finally outside of the forest.
"We made it" I say mostly to myself as I look over at Sansa who looks like she was going to weep with joy.
In that moment the only thing I could really think of was.
'Father is so full of shit'
