*Authors Note, as I get better at writing I'll come back to earlier chapters and reword things so they sound better.
"You want to know my story? Why?"
"Well it's bound to be entertaining, you've come so far already!"
"Haaa, okay. It all started a very long time ago, way back when I was about seventeen or eighteen.
I remember waking up in the middle of the night to a strange feeling, like the hairs on the back of my neck had stood up. I remember the usual outside city being loud and bright, though when I looked out I saw nothing but fire and brimstone. Ash dancing in the air, I look back and think about the beauty of it all."
"What?" I rubbed my eyes expecting to see things straight when I opened them again. I was wrong but I saw things clearer, I wasn't in my city let alone my apartment. Hell, the land of demons it's exactly how you might think except rarely any demons to be found. I remember leaving the cave I woke up in and going outside and seeing the first "live" thing there.
A toad it's skin dyed red and it's body a third the size of me.
At first it was funny because I thought it was close and small but as I got close to the creature I had once believed to be almost cute I began to feel nervous as I realized the size of it.
I knew where I was it was really quite obvious but I was didn't really realize how serious it was, I was disillusioned with the whole idea.
"Hey guy, Whatchya doing out here" my voice was almost shaking near the end. I remember staring at the teeth as it leapt towards me. I fell on my rear and it flew right over me and crashed into a boulder, I instantly realized exactly how serious this ordeal was.
Only two thoughts came to mind do I run? Or do I die? I rushed to my feet and began running, ultimately not the greatest decision as it jumped towards me again but I wasn't so lucky. I fell face forward and it stood atop of me about to feast.
It's embarrassing to say but when I hit the ground nose first I screamed, again when it bit into my shoulder. Even though fire surrounded us I felt cold, cold flowing in my veins and out my shoulder.
However unlucky I was to be there I wasn't unlucky enough to be brought there alone.
I felt the jaws of the toad being peeled from me by a very furry hand. At this point I was seething in agony but I managed to turn onto my back to see what could only be described as the creature form Greek mythology a Minotaur. It's hand was huge as it held the toad like a grapefruit.
POP
I'll never forget that sound.
