Chapter 1 - Chapter 1

Lydia tosses and turns in her bed as the poorly covered window exposes the sun to her. She groaned as she wrapped the blanket over her head. Birds softly chirped outside, and the rustled nearby shrubs and trees. Lydia's phone vibrates against her bed stand. Lydia groans once more, as her arms reach for it. The blinding screen shines in her eyes. Lydia unlocks her phone, scrolling through her notifications. Trying to find the one that woke her up. She couldn't find it. What a waste of time. She could have slept for more hours. Lydia slowly lifts herself up from her bed, the covers still wrapping around her body. "Goddamnit.." With the phone still in hand, she opens up her favorite forum page for her favorite artist...Yuna Park. Yuna Park was a former K-pop group idol but ended up breaking off after dropping multiple hit singles and decided to just go off on her own. It ended well for her, with a lot of hit albums. Growing a big following. Forum was keeping fans updated on Yuna's meet greets happening all over the country. Lydia endlessly scrolls through the forum. Nothing. Wait.

"Meet Yuna Park at Moonberry Library on 8785 Lively Street! On Saturday, May 30th, at 12:30 Pm! Bring whatever you want her to sign! Bring pens, pencils, crayons, whatever! Tickets are $25 on the TicketLord app or www.ticketworld.com!" Lydia's attention peaked quickly and scrolled through the comments. It was legit. She couldn't believe it! She was here, in her town! Lydia snatched the blankets off her, jumped from her bed, and went straight for her laptop on her desk. She folds it open and unlocks it. Lydia removes the extra tabs left over from last night. Lydia types in the website as she plasters an excited smile on her face. As if all her dreams come true. Because it did. She scrolls down the page to see how many tickets were left. 50. "Oh my god!" Lydia screamed. She runs for her purse and searches for her wallet. She takes her wallet out of the bag and rushes back to her desk, also tipping herself over.

Lydia types in her credit card information, pressing enter in the system. Approved. "YES!!" Lydia squeals, jumping from her seat, hands raised in the air. Lydia does a little dance, credit card in hand. Lydia goes back to her bed, this time energized, and checks her phone. A message from Angelica. "Wyd? Have you heard about the meet and greet?"

"Ofc!! I just got some tickets now!!!"

"Oh wow, they just sold out a few minutes ago. so ur lucky!"

"Thanks, anyways. I have a job to get to. I'll text you later, k?"

"Kk"

Lydia puts down her phone and heads to the bathroom. She turns on the shower arm. Droplets of water began to drop from the head of the shower. Lydia begins to remove her clothes, shoving them to the side of the room. She steps into the shower, the warm water hitting her skin. Warming her up. Lydia runs her fingers through her brown like ginger hair. Soap suds ran through her body. What a way to wake someone up and start the day off. There wasn't much to do today but go to work. No classes for the rest of the month as the professor was out sick. This put Lydia more into her job as an intern as an art gallery tourist. Her professor suggested it to her as it would give more of a feel of what art looked like throughout the years and how they expressed themselves. Lydia doesn't particularly hate her job, just wasn't fond of it. She gets old to tell people about the same pictures she sees every day. Who made this? Why was it made?

Like she truly knew why it was made. She wasn't some 17th-century artist living in some random place in Europe. It was, to say the least, tiring and annoying. But it was nice to just sit down sometime and just draw what was in front of her. Just try to get the perfect lines and curves of the painting just right. It was soothing for her. Lydia stepped out of the shower and turned it off. She wrapped a blue towel around her body. The towel was secured tightly around her chest. Lydia opens her closet, showing her array of clothing. To sundresses to crop tops. Lydia snatches a white dress cutting off at her shoulder. Lydia slips off the towel dressing herself in her undergarments, then topping it off with her dress. Lydia sits at her vanity, her face reflecting toward her. Lydia grabs a hair tie. Tying it up to a bun, then sticking a sliver-flowered clip on her hair. She grabs two heels and slips them on her foot. Lydia grabs a black purse and other belongings that she needs. Before leaving her apartment, she looks back at it. A messy, disheveled apartment. Clothes were scattered everywhere, and the kitchen stacking up dishes and whatnot. The towel from before is on the floor. "God, I really need to clean up this damn apartment.." Lydia whispers in disappointment.

Lydia quickly moves down the pavement to the 5-year-old car she had since a teen. It's been running well( kind of) ever since! Lydia reaches her car and opens the door. She hops inside the car, starts up the engine and carefully backs out of the parking space. The road ahead was slim as the apartment complex was far out from the city. Only 20 minutes away to be exact. Lydia makes a left, onto the highway. Joining with all the other cars on the freeway.

Lydia arrives before the gallery opens. Her employer leans on the pole with a bewitching look. "You're almost late, Salavar.." She said with a serious tone. "Keyword: almost. Not you're late, Ms.Arlington.."Lydia said as she huffed and puffed from rushing into the gallery. Ms.Arlington gave Lydia a conniving look, then rolled her eyes. "Watch it, I can make you go broke as fast as my signature hits the paper.." She threatened. "You're not really my boss, it's Mrs. Taeko. She's the one who ALSO signed my papers, not really!" Lydia said in a singing tone. Ms. Arlington scoffed as she stormed away from Lydia. Lydia smiled with pride as she shut down Ms. Arlington for the 60th time. She has always been a pain in her ass ever since she's been hired. A tired old hag who bothers others for no reason. It's a mind-tripping thing that Mrs. Taeko would work with her. "Ah! Lydia! How are you?" A voice said. Lydia turned to see Mrs. Taeko in a bright red dress, her black hair reaching her back. "Ms. Taeko! Hi!" Lydia said with glee. "It's lovely to see you! How're classes?" She asks as she sits down near an oil painting. Lydia sat next to her, both of them looking, admiring the century-old paint in front of them. "So, have you heard about that..uhm what's her name?" Mrs. Taeko asked sheepishly. "Yuna Park? Oh yeah, of course! What's about her?" Lydia giggled. "She's in town," I heard. I wanted to talk to you since I know how much you love her!" Lydia was applauded for this. She never knew someone as old as Mrs. Taeko would remember her or even know her like that. Shows how much Mrs. Taeko cares about Lydia! "Oh yeah, I know. I already got the tickets earlier this morning. I'm excited for this weekend!" Lydia gushed. Mrs. Taeko chuckled as she saw the ginger practically getting ready to jump out of the seat. "Well, we must get ready for the visitor. We have an art class from the local high school coming in. A bunch of 9th graders." Great, a bunch of hormonal kids and their snarkiness. Once more, Lydia plastered a soft, but agitated smile for Mrs. Taeko. "Oh Lydia, I know how feel about people wasting your time, but hey there might be at least one kid who is interested!" Mrs. Taeko chirped with a soft smile. Lydia couldn't help but grin. "Thank you, it means a lot."

Mrs. Taeko looked around her, scanning the area for anyone. It was just Lydia and her in the room. "Has Olive been giving you trouble?" Mrs. Taeko whispered. "Oh, Ms. Arlington? Well, yeah but she's always been grumpy ever since that man slave broke free that she called her husband.." Lydia whispered back to her. Mrs. Taeko wanted to giggle, but out of respect for her friend, she didn't even crack a smile. "Well, yes. But, I'm tired of you coming in here and having to deal with her. I know she isn't the nicest person around here.."

"It's fine, I Promise. Besides, I don't want that hag pushing that anger on someone as sweet as you, Mrs. Taeko" Mrs. Taeko smiled. "Well, it's almost time. Come on, we have work to do little one!"
