Kane received those notifications after knocking down the kids for the fifth time in a row. His mana was finally full again. Not only that, but he was also about to level up again. It was quite surprising that he could level up so fast, but given that humans had been reincarnated as monsters to fight, it wasn't that hard to believe.

Unfortunately, it looked like Kane wouldn't have time for that. Although he bought time to recover his mana, the other kids finally started to miss the presence of the boy and the girl. They headed toward the orchard only to quickly find their friends unconscious on the ground, and their weapons broke. That didn't surprise the kids all that much. Even though they were tense, they also looked like they had faced situations like that before.
"It won't be easy, but it isn't impossible either."
The two fallen kids headed East after leaving the orchard, while half of the others returned to hunt the slimes that were spawning outside, and the other half started to look for Kane. He couldn't have possibly wished for a better outcome… as long as he didn't let his attacks be blocked or dodged, Kane would be able to defeat them. However, many eyes would be searching for him, so he would have to be extra careful.
"The last thing I need is to reveal my position and be surrounded by more than two enemies… I can't make any mistake, but I can't take my sweet time here."
Much to his surprise, the kids started to attack all the bushes nearby, and they also found the stock of food Kane had prepared to use in case of emergencies. That was a sign that Kane hadn't been the first to survive thus far by acting like that… he should have expected that given that his plans were too simplistic.
In any case, it was a bit too late to regret that. The kids were also smart enough to walk around in groups of three, one armed with a spear would stab the bushes, while others would cover for them, and the third would watch the surroundings.
"That is one hell of a formation to kill just slimes… but given that I knocked them down, it is only obvious. Killing them is possible, after all. I just have to attack them two or three more times while they are unconscious, and they are clearly aware of that."
It would be risky, but Kane would have to go all out and spend a lot of mana in order to deal with three kids at the same time. The number of boys and girls wasn't that different, so he couldn't rely on his dirty tricks all that frequently.
Although Kane wanted to attack first, he couldn't because the three groups were watching for each other blind spots. In the end, even if Kane succeeds in taking down a group, immediately another group will pinpoint his location. Besides, acting harshly would affect his aim. Kane had to keep his cool in order for him to aim properly and make every single Water Ball worthwhile.
"I guess it is now or never… I won't go down without putting up a good fight."
Spears were the most dangerous weapons for Kane, so he decided to get rid of those who had them first. Eventually, one of the groups who were searching for him finally got close to the bush where he was hidden, and when he was about to be stabbed by it, Kane fired four Water Balls.
The first two Water Balls hit the middle of the spear, breaking it completely, while the other two hit the face of the surprised brown-haired boy that was the owner of that weapon. The girl who was covering for him and armed with a short sword quickly jumped back once she noticed what had happened, but she didn't do it fast enough to avoid three more Water Balls. She tried to block the magic projectiles with her weapon, but the power of the first Water Ball made her lose control over her weapon. The two remaining Water Balls hit her chin, and she fell out cold.
The third member of the group, the short kid that Kane had knocked down on the previous day, tried to run and regroup with the others, but two Water Balls on his legs made him fall. Kane even heard the sound of the bones snapping, he succeeded, and his Water Ball even leveled up, but he used too much mana.

"Six enemies left, and I can use Water Ball nine more times… It won't be enough to knock them down, but there is still a way."
Fortunately, none of those six kids had bows. If they had, things would get really messy for Kane. However, he couldn't relax yet… the first group could always come to their aid, and that would make his chances of surviving decrease quite a lot.
As expected, after surrounding the bush where Kane was hidden, the two who attacked first were a boy and a girl armed with spears. However, they regretted that because Kane attacked the tip of their weapons. Not only his Water Balls stopped their charge, but they also made them suffer some damage thanks to the butt of their weapons.
(Congratulations! You leveled up. You received one reincarnation point.")
Kane smirked in his head; he allocated those points to magic without wasting time. Now, he was pretty sure he would be able to destroy their weapons with a single shot. Not only that, but he also obtained some extra mana thanks to it. However, it looked like things wouldn't be so simple… Kane confirmed that when the kids stepped down and a blond girl from the first group approached while she was playing with some knives.
"Ah... crap... It looks like this one will be difficult. She looks really experienced in handling knives..."
Fortunately, Kane was confident that he could deal with knives. Things would get really messy if she could use spears or lances, but still... Kane couldn't relax just yet.
