It was a cold winter morning, the snow was three inches more than last night. My poor frail mother lying in bed,her skin was as white as snow you could see her veins and bones easily, the air was thin, harsh and Cold Which made it harder to breath hearing her short breathes and gasps for air of my mother made me teary. Alas there was nothing I could do but watch in silence as my mother was taking her last breathes. My drunk and abusive father did nothing as he saw his wife in her death bed. Instead of helping her he shouted " woman get up get up, make me food to eat I don't care if your dying get up". He kicked my mother's bed expecting her to make food for him. I could see tears in her eyes as she knew she didn't have much time ,I told my younger brother to distract our father as our mother were in her final moments he did as I instructed and snatched my father's bottle of beer . in a heist he ran out of the house and so did my father. I cried and said "mother mother don't leave me I still need you here, I still need you now" then she sat up and handed me a box she said "darling I know, I don't want to leave you to but it seems like I have to" hugging me and wiping of the tears on my face. "darling in this box is a book of every thing you will ever need to know and 5000 dollars and a gold necklace " she took of her engagement ring and placed it in the box. "This was all I could hide from your wicked father at midnight you and your siblings should run far away from this man for surely he would sell you and your younger sister of for marriage. I want you to run at the dock specifically 4am an old friend of mine will take you far away from this place hand him this letter and he'll understand your father mustn't know of this * cough cough*" mother your coughing up blood we need to take you to the hospital" don't worry about me I don't have much time left any way " promise me something you promise that * cough* " "mother" " you will always take care of your siblings " as her eyes slowly closed and her hand slipped away from my face as I cried shouting I promise I promise!
