Chapter 86 - Return of Dexterity

As silver dropped down like snow, I searched throughout the skies for the Silver Saint, but there was no trace of him. As quickly as he had arrived and saved his people, he had disappeared.

Aylin stood up first and extended her hand towards me.

"Let's go!"

She yanked as I grabbed onto her hand, a firm gentle grip wrapped around my hand. A concerned expression grew on my face, and before Aylin could mutter another word, I dragged her towards the crate.

"Fuck!"

I couldn't believe she managed to escape this box and get away. As I was facepalming myself with Aylin looking at me with a perplexed expression we heard people screaming something out.

We decided to walk towards the screaming and saw as people got up from the rubble, they cheered and thanked the Mayor for saving their lives. They screamed out their appreciation and gratitude, knowing that their protector was somewhere out there listening.

I couldn't help but ask them what was so special with their Mayor. Why do they hail him so much, and why do people have so much respect for him?

From the slightest mention of their Mayor, they smiled. Recollecting from memories they told how for decades, there was a man here in Dragonspine who would hunt Dragons. He protected this city, saved thousands of lives, he brought those who hurt the city to their knees.

"We in Dragonspine do not fear danger, because as long as our Mayor is here for us, we will be safe!"

So that's the reason for having little to no security in this town. But aren't they relying too much on the Mayor? They have idolized him to such a point that he is some sort of god solving all their problems. Foolish, how do they not realize this man cannot burden a whole city by himself? They have no right chanting for him.

I grabbed Aylin's hand and took her away from the people.

She seemed to have a surprised expression as I suddenly yanked her away. But as she saw the expression on my face, she realized what I was thinking. As I was stepping away from the crowd I heard a familiar voice amongst the cheering crowd.

"Hey."

My eyes opened wide as memories rushed through my head. All the hairs in my body started to stand up as my blood went cold. The mark of Freedom burst open on my cheek as I clenched my fists. I stood dead in my tracks, Aylin almost tripping over as she realized I was standing completely still.

"What is wrong Vivshi?"

She looked up towards my face and saw the mark of Freedom growing. She gently stroked my cheek and asked why it was there.

Her eyes widened as she looked past my head. She pointed out her finger towards the person standing behind me.

I took one step to the side to get a look at the person who was standing there. Memories of Emovi rushed through my head, and how everything had led up to this moment. Amongst the crowd, a small figure with a blue cap, oversized t-shirt and long golden hair stood with her hand waving with a smile.

Aylin looked at her hand and realized in just a blink, I had vanished from her sight. Looking forward she saw me face to face with Devina. Her eyes against my eyes, I stared into her soul with the mark of Freedom oozing all over my cheek.

"Where is my sister?"

With a cocky tone she said that Emovi was fine, she was resting in her hotel room.

"You know what I gotta do right?"

She rolled back her eyes into her head before sighing.

"Something with Sekito, if I had to guess?"

"Give her over," I demanded.

"Not gonna happen."

She turned around for a millisecond and sensed the bloodlust ooze behind her. Stopping dead in her tracks, her legs were saking so hmuch that she was almost unable to stand. She thought that she had been bifurcated into thousands of bits. It was as if she could view into the future, she saw her body being mutilated so horribly that it turned into a pile of mush. Devina turned back around to face me with an uncomfortable smile.

"Okay fine. I will tell you about everything, alright?"

Taking out her pocket dimension she reached in to take out a little box. She then fiddled with it, before both me and Aylin were transported directly to a hotel room.

On the bed, the person who I had been searching so long for was sitting there playing checkers with Sekito.

Sekito looked at me before breathing out a yuck.

"Oh here comes Mr. Kidnapper."

Emovi looked up from the game and saw me standing there speechless.

"Sister?"

The mark from my face disappeared as I rushed towards her. I had missed her so much, I thought I had lost her. It felt like a missing puzzle piece had been finally placed inside me. Hugging her tightly, I clung to her weak small body.

"Emovi…"

She had never seen this side of me, she hadn't ever seen me shed a single tear. She thought I was her cool sibling who would be unphased by anything. But as tears rushed down my cheeks onto her clothes, her eyes widened in shock, but after realizing that I wasn't the all-cool sibling she smiled.

"I didn't know you were such a crybaby."

She patted my back as I wept. I had completely lowered my guard down in front of everyone and everyone saw that even an Aeon could break down. Emovi gently stroked my head as she said everything was alright now.

As Emovi comforted me, the thoughts of why Devina had brought me here and why she would show herself came to me. Why would she actually bring me here to meet Emovi was it because she had a new plan? If she did, should I really trust her?

I looked up from Emovi's chest and saw Sekito with a smirk on her face.

"Crybaby… heh."

Rage filled my body as I heard Sekito say those words, I was about to pounce on Sekito but Emovi grabbed my arms.

"It is okay, sis, it's okay."

A voice broke through our little banter, and I stopped flailing around.

"You must be wondering why I decided to run off to Dragonspine without telling you anything."

I looked up Devina with eyes full of doubt. I distrusted her after taking away the only thing I had to protect, my sister whom my mother entrusted me with.

"I wanted Zerstörer you to give you this mission, so you could complete it."

Sekito slowly turned her eyes towards Devina, side-eyeing her.

"SIS WHAT?!"
