Chapter 73 - Aylin’s wish

From the sky Vivshi descended, Viego's eyes widened as he stared at the body floating down from the sky.

Vivshi's body landed on the sand with a thud, not moving. Aylin ran up to my body and shook me awake. I opened my eyes to see Aylin bawling her eyes out on me. Tears dripped down onto my face as she put her arms on my chest.

"Vivshi… such… an... IDIOT!!!"

She continued to cry as I lay there confused. I look over to see Viego lying there. I sit up, pulling Aylin off my body before standing up and walking towards Viego. It seemed like he accepted defeat, but the second I took a step closer, a scythe fell from the sky, landing between me and Viego.

From behind the rocks, Zyo appeared and leaped over the ledge. Making a few pebbles tumble down onto the beach.

"Well, it seems like you have the Prince outmatched, isn't that right Viego?"

Viego closed his eyes and sighed before turning his head away, gazing into the crashing waves.

"Well, after seeing what you did to the Prince I don't want to mess with you right now…"

"You said he was your prey, Princess of the underground, take him then." Viego mockingly said.

"Ahem, not today… not after seeing what he did to you, Pssst I need some info on that kid before I attack him…"

Viego scoffed at her statement before they quickly vanished away.

"It is over… Everything is over," Aylin said while on her knees.

I stood there silently, looking around my surroundings. The beach was so beautiful, the endless waves crashed on the shore washing up my feet. Turning around, you see the once glistening city of Nautilus, destroyed. Two giant holes in the city, houses collapsed, and the sounds of children could be heard crying in the distance. People rushed to help trapped individuals under the rubble.

"Aylin, did I cause all of this?"

She sat still, not saying a word before I asked her again.

"AYLIN, did I do this?"

She shook her head from side to side, it wasn't you, it was a dark entity and Viego that caused that mass destruction.

A dark entity… the true form of the Aeon of Freedom, the Aeon of Death.

"Aylin, please send me back."

I stared into the cities, watching fires scorching the lands and water flooding the holes.

Aylin halted her crying and asked me if I meant it in that way.

"Kill me."

Aylin jumped up and started shaking before beads of tears flowed down from her face again. Her flushed face became even redder and the mark on her cheek reappeared.

I looked at her.

"It is okay, wish."

"No."

She violently shook her head before furiously stomping towards me and slapping me. Her hit made me land on the ground, I held my swollen cheek with my hand.

She sat down with me and started to slap me again, but this time I blocked it.

"Stop doing that!"

She continued hitting me until I pushed her to the side where she fell exhausted. Breathing heavily and fatigued she fell asleep.

I lay there beside her, wondering what life I was currently living. I had lost everything that I had, Emovi, Devina, Sekito, everyone, and everything.

But then I looked at Aylin, closing my eyes for one moment and the next moment, the blaring Nautilus climate hit my skin. Warming up my whole body. I crawl over to Aylin lying there curled up and shook her awake.

"Aylin, Aylin!"

She slowly opened her eyes and looked at me with puppy eyes.

"Can you wish for everything to go back to normal?"

"I don't really know if I can do that…"

I asked Aylin what the limits of her abilities are. Then she gave me the explanation.

To wish, she consumes some sort of energy which is her Aeonic life force. The more she uses it, the more it is going to curse her. If the Aeonic reserves become too low, desire takes over and replenishes her powers. So basically a succubus in the form. So small wishes like having a cup of juice or some money aren't a big issue. But bigger wishes like reviving the dead and reverting objects into their original forms are more difficult. Therefore to revive me there, she activated her Aeon acclimation out of instinct and resurrected me. That being said, her Acclimation doesn't grant her everything in the world, it simply maxes out the reserves she has, enabling her to be able to grant one wish.

"So it is completely gone now? Your energy?"

"Yes."

"Aylin, come with me."

What is going on inside my head? All I can think about is reviving all my dead comrades but what about Aylin? What about her feelings about this?

I grabbed Aylin's hand and tossed her up on my back and walked into the forest. There was a small little temple and I put her down inside. The insides were small the exterior was covered in moss. Its silver shine had turned dull and the wood had started to peel off.

Aylin's body convulsed as the mark on her cheek reappeared. The curse of desire spawned and took over. She sat up and pressed me against the wall. The pink glow on her cheek illuminated the room. Her eyes with brimming with vitality and vigor. I touched her arms, they were warm and soft.

With her heavy breathing on top of me, I asked her.

"You wanna become my girlfriend?"

Aylin's marks shone even brighter and they spread down her chest.

"Vivshi, I love you."

Was it a lie? Or was it love, I seriously don't know but at this moment, there wasn't any option.

"I love you too Aylin."

I placed my hand on the back of her head and pulled her closer.
