Chapter 46 - Unknown rescuer

The furious footsteps of a lunatic marched towards my location. He once more screamed out that he would kill the brat that made that cry.

He whipped his baton against the rusty iron cages. The haunting reverberation shot down my spine as I heard it nearing.

Continuing to smack his weapon against the railings he started to hum.

It wasn't a peaceful soft hum, but more like a childish playful song. He then saw me backed into the corner, grappling with my hair. My goosebumps raised as the frigid air hit my skin.

I kicked the ground dirt away from me and tried to cover my face. My once elegant and refined shoes were now covered in muck.

I tried to stop my tears, wiping away all the water from my eyes. My hands became moist and bloody.

The striking of the iron bars ricocheting became deeply ingrained in my head.

Tapping on the bars he asked:

"Are you the brat who wailed earlier?"

I couldn't respond, the feeling of anxiety and terror bursting through my facade of composure was on the brink of happening.

Holding it to the extent of pulling the blue hair strands out of my head. The blue locks that once were on my head fell onto the soiled ground.

My body trembled in the aspect of fear and gelid. My teeth chattered, and my feet tapped the ground in quick succession.

I shook my head while concealing my face, trying to convince him that I wasn't the one crying.

"Can't see shit in there, talk you little bitch."

Yelling out profanities he started taking out his keys and finding the right one.

"You better start talking before I pull up on yo ass."

I couldn't talk, if I spoke then he would know that I was crying and I was dead. I just wasn't able to.

The prisoners yelled out all different things.

"YOOO, SHE AIN'T CRYING," a woman proclaimed.

"GET HER ASS!" Another man called out.

A few of the jailed people laughed in a psychotic manner. It was as if they had turned insane from being down here, or after what they experienced.

I looked at the door and crawled towards it, holding onto the railing and cold rusty bars for life.

The guard shoved in the keys and twisted them. The lock dropped onto the floor with an eerie thud.

Trying to open the door didn't work, I sat there holding on to it with both of my arms. The man lit up a lighter and saw me grabbing onto the bars. He took a step back and kicked my fingers so I would let go of the door.

The sounds of my fingers cracking echoed through the room. My fractured fingers fell limp and a pain that could be described as shockwaves emigrated from my fingers

Blistering pain and swollen fingers made it impossible to grab onto the door. I turned around and placed my body against the door to prevent the man from entering.

The man tried to nudge the door open to no avail. He relit his lighter to see what the blockage was. He then saw me sitting against the door with my hands dug into the ground to prevent him from entering.

He then saw my face, the red markings, the tears, and the mucus that dripped down from my nose.

"So it was you, little shitty brat!"

The rowdy prisoners cheered him on as he started to stretch and lightly warm up.

When he was done stretching, he crouched down into a running position and tackled the door. Making it completely bust open.

The impact shoved my face into the muck and I lay there motionless, trembling in trepidation about what was going to happen next.

Then looked down at me as I slowly turned around to face him. His leather shoes were so dirty, they were covered in blood.

"Look at me."

I slowly look up and he grabs my neck. His enormous hands wrapped around my tiny and fragile throat. I struggled as I placed my hands on his arm. Even the slightest touch of my fingers made my body spasm in agony.

He then took hold of my arm with his other arm.

"They told me not to hurt the produce too much. But I guess you could just heal after a few days right?"

He applied more and more pressure to my twig-like arms and snapped my forearm.

I shrieked in pain as the torture continued. My arm dangled in the arm without any support. It felt like a thousand needles pierced the whole way into my flesh and bones. I let out another cry in anguish which made the man laugh even more.

"You should have thought about it before crying!"

He pinned me down onto the floor, my eyes covered in dirt and my mouth full of soil. I couldn't breathe.

Did Allegrano turn off the air again?

I started coughing up blood and rapidly started hyperventilating. My lungs felt like someone had poured boiling water down and drowned me in the ocean.

"What the hell is wrong with you?"

The guard looked repulsed at what he just witnessed. I started to vomit up blood and my inside was cooked.

All my internal organs were in the last stages of failure, my heart beat endlessly to pump oxygen. My lungs desperately tried to draw in air. My stomach expelled all the blood inside it. My legs dilated and puffed as my kidneys were on the brink of failure.

I'm dead. Surely I die today.

At the doors of death, I saw light, such bright illuminations, shining from a distance. Before I went, I heard the sounds of footsteps. I opened my eyes one last time.

"Allegrano?"
