Call it a coincidence, but the portal that was the entrance of the sahuagin dungeon was in front of the river that crossed the city. It was also in the central part and the part that didn't get that much damage thirty years ago, so a lot of people came and went.
When Terry approached the place, he saw many groups selling weapons and equipment. Most of them were trash that the guild that had control over the portal obtained on the other side, but even trash was too expensive for Terry.
The guild was called Dynamic Team, and while it seemed a silly name, they were the strongest group in the city. They possessed over five thousand members. Usually, with those numbers, one wouldn't have to let others use the portal. Still, since the portal could take people to several different parts of a region of the enemy world, they didn't have to worry about losing enemies. There was always a massive amount on the other side, and they obtained half of the materials obtained by the solo hunters and one-third of those that had guilds.
Since Terry had never shown up there, some eyes were on him, but not even the guards around the portal stopped him. They only stop strangers from leaving without selling the materials… only those connected to the guild that owns a portal have the right to buy and sell things related to the materials found there.
Terry frowned again when he began to cross that portal and when the weird feeling of being licked all over his body began to annoy him. After not so long, he landed on the other side and on a beach…
"What the hell…" Terry frowned.
Unlike the previous one, that world didn't look like a world of monsters. Terry never went to one, but he could recognize a tropical beach if he ever saw one. He quickly looked around since he didn't know when monsters would show up, and a few hundred meters behind, he found a hill made of sand where he could see the portal.
"Good, it is close…" Terry thought, and then he heard the sound of water being splashed.
When he turned around, Terry saw two sahuagins that had left the ocean landing on the beach. He was expecting to fight one at a time, but it seemed that things wouldn't be that convenient. His spear was already in his hands, while the sahuagin summoned theirs after creating and making some water transform into it. They could have attacked him from a distance, but they charged instead of that…
Terry waited until they got within his range, then he lowered his stance and jumped to the side. The monsters' thrusts only hit the air, but they quickly followed Terry with their eyes. However, not for long. Terry thrust his spear at the head of one of them, and he couldn't help but open his eyes widely when the weapon easily pierced the creature's eyes. A blue liquid gushed from the wound when Terry pulled his spear and assumed his guard. That had been way too easy…
The other monster grunted in annoyance and then attacked, but Terry blocked the spear with his own… he didn't even feel the weight behind the attack.
"How curious…" Terry said.
The monster tried to push Terry away, but it failed. It summoned a water arrow and fired at Terry's head without any other choice. While Terry didn't expect that the creature could use magic in such a situation, and it didn't get him. Terry jumped to the side, making the projectile miss and the enemy trip. When the beast turned to the side, Terry's spear finished off the creature.
"I knew that this trait was awesome, but… but it looks like I underestimated it," Terry said. "Or perhaps all that grinding paid off."
Long Spear - Lv 5 (04/60 EXP) (Common)
Attack Power: 12
Defense: 06
Durability: 12/12
"Hehehe, this is good… very good," Terry smirked. "In a few seconds of fighting, I obtained forty minutes worthy of experience that I would receive by doing normal training… this trait is awesome."
That wasn't time to be grinning like a fool, so Terry began to work. Using his knives, he opened a hole in the monsters' chests, and from there, he got a small blue stone. It was a magic stone. An item that was the core of all the monsters, they can be used for many things like recharging magic items in order to save the energy of the users. Some of them grant special effects to weapons, and lately, the technology of Earth has been using them as a form of energy for many objects.
Things were simple for the time being, but in the future, people assumed that even airplanes would be powered by them since it was a form of clean energy.
Once Terry got the magic stones, he considered getting the scales and the claws of the monsters, but the other two jumped from the ocean to attack him.
"As expected, I won't have time to take all of their parts… Well, the magic stones are the most valuable ones, so it is fine," Terry thought when he assumed his fighting stance.
While his goal was to make money, Terry didn't have to do that only by getting materials. He didn't want to do that and reveal what his trait could do, but he could sell the weapons that he leveled up. It was clear that they were good enough even for a beginner like him to fight the sahuagin. With his power, even a human without a trait could become a force to be reckoned with…
In any case, Terry kept fighting the enemies nonstop for several hours. He only stopped to get the magic stones. Despite that, he didn't get tired. The excitement got the better of him since each of those magical stones cost one hundred dollars… he finally could buy something aside from Salamander's meat!
