Brendon and Iris relaxed into each other. What had happened the night before had been a long time coming. Iris felt conflicted; she wanted to be with Brendon but a part of her yearned for Cal. The part of her that had cared about Wynne seemed to have vanished. Iris didn’t miss it. She was torn in two, between two gorgeous men. She ran a hand over Brendon’s chest and sighed. She wondered if she could ever choose between the two of them.
Cocopops started barking, and Iris pushed away from Brendon as he forced himself up from her carpet. “I’m really starting to hate how people feel comfortable walking into your yard.” Iris laughed, the sound seeming to light up the entire room. Brendon smiled and wondered how he would ever be able to leave her behind when he picked up his entire life to leave the country.
