Chapter 12 - 12.- The Connection in the Shadows

When Sebastian regains consciousness, he finds himself in an unfamiliar and dimly lit room. Upon waking up, he notices the girl watching him from a corner, hidden and filled with fear. Sebastian blinks several times, trying to adjust to the surroundings, and then turns his attention to the girl.

"Are you okay?" Sebastian asks softly, noting the lost and fearful look in the girl's eyes. He tries to convey security and understanding in his words. The girl doesn't respond; her expression remains filled with mistrust.

Sebastian approaches her slowly, maintaining a respectful distance. "You don't have to be afraid," he murmurs, extending a hand towards her with care. His goal is to break through the barriers surrounding her and establish a connection.

The girl shrinks back even more, afraid to come closer to Sebastian. He understands her fear and decides to be more convincing in his attempt to gain her trust. "I'm Sebastian, I'm here to help you," he says with determination in his voice. He wants the girl to understand that he is there to protect and support her.

Sebastian sits on the floor, displaying a relaxed and friendly posture. "Come, I won't hurt you," he whispers sincerely, extending his arms in a welcoming gesture. The girl hesitates for a moment, but something in Sebastian's words and presence gradually reassures her.

With caution, the girl approaches slowly, observing every movement Sebastian makes. Her eyes reflect fear and vulnerability, but there is also a spark of curiosity and a need for comfort. Sebastian gently embraces her, allowing the girl to feel his protection and support.

"I won't let anything harm you," Sebastian reassures, his voice filled with genuine compassion. He holds her close, providing a sense of safety amidst the unknown.

The girl's trembling gradually subsides as she feels the warmth of Sebastian's embrace. She finally finds the courage to speak, her voice barely above a whisper. "Why... why did you betray them? Why did you leave them behind?" she asks, her words filled with pain and confusion.

Sebastian's heart aches at the weight of her questions. He takes a deep breath, searching for the right words to explain his actions. "I... I made a mistake. I let fear cloud my judgment. But I want you to know that I deeply regret what I did. I never wanted to hurt anyone, especially not those who trusted me."

The girl looks up at Sebastian, her eyes searching for sincerity. "Can I trust you?" she asks, her voice wavering with uncertainty.

Sebastian meets her gaze, his own eyes filled with earnestness. "I understand if it's hard for you to trust me after what happened. But I promise you, I'm here to protect you, to help you find answers," he says, his voice gentle yet firm. He wants to convey his sincerity and determination.

The girl's grip on Sebastian tightens as she begins to open up to him. "I... I don't want to be alone anymore," she admits, her voice tinged with vulnerability.

Sebastian gently strokes her hair, offering comfort and reassurance. "You're not alone. I'll be here for you every step of the way. We'll face whatever challenges come together," he says, his voice filled with conviction.

As the girl gradually relaxes in his arms, Sebastian feels a sense of purpose and hope. He knows that their journey will be difficult, but he is determined to help her find the answers she seeks and to make amends for his past mistakes.
