Around midnight while I was asleep, I heard my mobile phone ring. I knew who it was and I was expecting a call from him; I grabbed the mobile phone and took the call.
"Bruno," I muttered immediately when I picked up my phone.
"Audrey, where have you been? Why didn't you pick up my calls? I have been worried about you" He instantly bombarded me with questions. I couldn't speak, tears streamed down my face.
"I'm sorry, I..I.." I was speechless and didn't know how to tell him that I had been sold off by Mr. Parks.
"You're not in the club anymore. Are you?." He asked coldly.
"Yes," I muttered.
"Where are you?"
I remained silent. "Did Mr. Parks do anything to you?." He asked and I quickly cut off the call. I didn't know what to say to him. I know that Bruno cared for me so much. I knew what Bruno was capable of and if I told him where I was, he might act recklessly. He wasn't that patient and he's got a bad temper. I guess it was better this way. I quickly switched off my phone and went back to bed.
In the morning, I heard from Garret that Vincent would arrive soon. I didn't know why, but I was eager to see him. I decided to eat breakfast before he comes.
I had just taken my seat in the dining room when I heard about Vincent's arrival. I waited to see if he would join me for breakfast. I saw him arrive with two other people, one, was his friend from earlier and the other was a woman. A beautiful human girl. From the looks of things, she was no ordinary friend of his. Her actions, his reactions, and responses, how he took her in his arms. Soon, her gaze riveted towards my direction and I shyly took my gaze from them and focused on my meal.
"Who is she?." I heard her ask.
"It's not important." He replied to her briefly. I wouldn't lie, I felt heartbroken from hearing that. I watched them go upstairs while I began to eat my breakfast.
His friend, who I didn't know his name, noticed my stares and he came up to me and sat near me.
"Curious?." He asked me briefly.
"She is Hazel. Vincent's fiancee." He answered his question. More like mine because I was more curious to know who she was. I didn't expect that she was the Hazel they spoke about. Honestly, I wasn't as beautiful as her. She looked elegant and extremely beautiful. Her body was that of a goddess and it matched her chestnut hair color perfectly. Her sexy curves and slim long legs. I didn't match up to her standards.
"You are?."
"Nathan. Vincent's best friend."
"I'm Audrey." I said politely.
We began eating breakfast after briefly introducing ourselves. I was so curious to know more about Hazel and Vincent's relationship, but I didn't dare to ask him.
Soon, I saw Vince descending the stairs.
He came towards the dining table and was about to take his seat when I stood up.
"Where are you off to?."
"I'm full," I replied briefly.
"You barely even touched your food." He pointed, staring at my plate.
"Do you not like the food?."
"I like it, I just lost my appetite."
"Why? Do I irritate you?." He asked me and I stood silently.
"I asked you a question. Do I irritate you? You seemed to be fine until I got here."
I didn't reply to him. He stared at me awkwardly. Nathan ate his food quietly. Not wanting to get himself involved in our petty argument. Suddenly, Vince banged his hands on the table hard. I quivered fearfully as I watched the perfectly arranged table break into half and all the food fell on the floor. Nathan wiped his hand with a napkin after the mess Vince made.
"Yes, you irritate me. I despise you." I yelled at him.
Vince grabbed my arm and pulled me away roughly.
"Let go of me." I tried to loosen his grip on me. I was so sure that I must've sustained an injury from his grip.
He took me straight to my room and he pinned me on the wall.
"I irritate you? Huh?." He scoffed at me.
"Too bad, you wouldn't be able to escape me anymore because I own you. You're mine. My slave forever." He barked.
"I'm nobody's slave. Especially yours. Let go of me Vincent or you'll face my wrath. I'm not another woman who you make use of, I'm different."
"You're no different, Audrey. I brought you, you have to show your respect to me as your master."
"How much do I owe you? I'm going to pay you back even if it means working my ass off to do that. I don't mind fucking several men, Vincent. It's better than being stuck with you." I screamed at him. Vincent tried to grab me. I wouldn't let him. He forced himself and kissed me. Somehow, I wasn't angry over it, but I had to stand my ground because he has a fiancee so there was nothing between us. I angrily slapped him hard on the face. For a moment, Vincent was silent.
"Five months." He spoke.
"After five months if you can't pay me. Then you're mine forever." He finally declared and left the room.
I stayed indoors for days. I couldn't stop thinking about Vincent's words to me the other day. How was I going to make that much money in five months? Three million dollars was a whole lot of money. So much so that it was hard for me to think of any solution. I thought of going to Vincent and apologizing for my behavior. Although I've been here for more than a week and I've been treated nicely. I wasn't lacking anything. I wouldn't want him to change towards me for speaking to him in such a manner.
