Goten and Beerus start to clash in the sky, creating shockwaves that causes the ground to shake. Goten then lands a right hook to Beerus's face, but the God of Destruction quickly responds with a punch to his gut, causing Goten to spit out blood and sending him flying. Before Goten can fully recover, Beerus rushes him, grabbing him by the face and pushes him towards the forest.
"COME ON! SHOW ME SOMETHING WORTHY OF A GOD!" Beerus yells.
Goten can't move an inch, he can barely breathe or even think.
"ARE YOU REALLY GOING TO LET ME SLAM YOU INTO THE GROUND WITHOUT A FIGHT!?" Beerus yells.
They pickup more and more speed, creating a bright light around them. They soon hit the ground, creating a big explosion in the forest. As the smoke clears, Goten is laying on the ground, surrounded by destroyed trees. Beerus walks towards the fallen Saiyan.
"It's a good thing you were able to withstand the explosion, I really thought you'd be a pile of ash." Beerus says.
Beerus then kneels over Gotens body.
"What a bore. I'm half asleep now."
Beerus then throws a punch, but Goten is able to block. The God of Destruction throws multiple punches, while Goten tries his best to withstand them.
"You were supposed to be different! Supposed to be worthy! But you're just the same as everyone else! IS A REAL CHALLENGE TOO MUCH TO ASK FOR?!"
Anger flares up in Goten.
"How about this!"
Goten headbutts Beerus then punches him in the face, backing him up. The young Saiyan then backflips to gain distance, slowly catching his breath. Beerus stands to his feet with a smile on his face.
"That's the spirit, Saiyan. I like that look in your eyes."
As Goten slowly recovers from the onslaught that he just survived, a smile appears on his face.
"Even after the damage you've taken, you're still enjoying yourself."
Goten stays silent for a moment.
"No offense Lord Beerus, but I don't feel like talking right now."
Beerus laughs.
"Fine with me."
The two then clash again, creating another explosion.
"This fight is getting intense. Hard to believe that's the same kid I trained." Krillin says.
"Just like his father, hogging the fun and glory for himself. And yet for once I'm glad it's not me." Vegeta says.
"The way things are progressing. It's almost like Beerus is training him." Piccolo says.
Bulla looks on with concern.
"Goten..."she whispers.
Beerus throws a punch that Goten dodges, getting cut on his cheek, then throws a kick. Beerus blocks it but gets pushed back. While the two have another stand off, Beerus smiles.
"Not bad. You are very impressive, but you should know I'm not satisfied. At least not yet. I mean, I still haven't come close to using my full power in this fight." Beerus says.
Goten chuckles.
"I know what you mean. I've been going at about seventy percent myself." Goten says with a smile.
Beerus is shocked by this.
"What!? You're holding back?"
The God of Destruction then gets angry at The Young Saiyan.
"Alright fine! Let's see how you do at this speed!" Beerus yells, rushing at Goten.
Before Goten can even blink, Beerus lands a punch to his chest. Goten tries to land a punch of his own, but Beerus jumps up in the air, avoiding it, then lands a roundhouse kick across his face. Beerus continues the attack, overwhelming Goten who can barely keep up with him. Meanwhile in other world, Goku and the others watches with worry.
"This isn't good, Goten is loosing ground fast." King Kai says.
"Oh no." Gine says.
"Hang in there, kid." Raditz says.
Both Goku and Bardock watch in silence, with Bardock turning to his youngest son, knowing that deep down he's worried. He then turns back to the fight. Back on Earth Beerus lands another punch that sends Goten stumbling back, with Beerus coming back at him.
"Are you taking me seriously now, boy!" Beerus yells.
Goten grits his teeth, clenches his fists, and dodges Beerus's next punch. As Beerus is surprised, Goten lands a solid punch to his gut that stuns the God for a moment. Beerus quickly responds with a high head kick, with Goten blocking. The Saiyan then throws a another punch but Beerus uses his forearm to block and goes for a knee to the gut. Goten pushes it out of the way and goes for reverse roundhouse kick but Beerus dodges, then flies up into the sky. Goten gets frustrated by this sudden retreat.
"Get back here." Goten says, flying after him.
The two soon make it above earth's atmosphere, as Goten starts breathing heavily. Piccolo and Vegeta notice this and gets worried.
"This isn't good. Goten is loosing steam." Piccolo says.
"If this keeps up like this, Beerus will kill the boy. Then the Earth is doomed." Vegeta says in frustration.
Chichi then starts to cry, choking Krillin while doing so.
"Oh, my precious boy! Was he the one that had to fight that monster cat! Now he's in danger and I can't do anything about it." She says.
Bulla watches in silence, trembling at the thought of Goten getting killed in this fight. Beerus notices Gotens exhaustion and smirks.
"What's the matter, Saiyan? Tired already? Is that power too much for you to handle? Or are you just struggling to keep up?" Beerus asks.
This frustrates Goten, causing his face to turn into a snarl.
"Not even close!" Goten yells charging at Beerus.
The two throw multiple strikes at each other, with Beerus keeping the upper hand through the exchange. Goten then goes for a big punch, but Beerus disappears, surprising him.
"What? Where did he-"
When Goten turns around, Beerus appears infront of him and a look of shock appears on his face. He slowly looks down and sees that Beerus has shoved his hand through his side, impaling him. As blood drips down Gotens side and mouth, Beerus whispers something to him.
"My mistake. I seem to have the wrong person... You're clearly not the rival I was looking for." Beerus says.
As Beerus pulls his hand out of Gotens body, the young Saiyan falls back towards earth while the God of Destruction licks the blood from his hand. Shin, Kibito, and the Elder Kai all watch in shock.
"Damn it all." Elder Kai says in frustration.
In other world, Gine cries in Bardocks arms as Goku watches in frustration. Raditz puts his hand on Goku's shoulder as King Kai watches in sorrow. Gohan and the others soon see Gotens body fall from the sky.
"No... Goten!" Gohan yells.
"This... This can't be happening." Trunks says.
As Chichi cries, Bulla drops to her knees with tears in her eyes.
"GOTEN!" she screams as his body falls into the water.
While Goten falls to the bottom of the ocean, his mind is still racing.
"Wow... Lord Beerus is really strong... It's overwhelming how strong he is... I'm sorry guys, but I don't think I can-"
Before he finishes his thought, he remembers them. All of them. Their faces. Their smiles. Their unwavering faith in him.
"No... what the hell am I thinking? I can't stop now. Not with everyone depending on me. No, this isn't how it's gonna end. I am not about to give up!" Goten thinks.
Goten then clenches his fists, trying to come up with a solution.
"Think. How can I come back from this? How can I counter Beerus's power? Is a Saiyan God really not enough?"
At that moment, he remembers his reflection from when he first turned into the Saiyan God, noticing that it looks just like his base form.
"Maybe this isn't my limit... maybe this form is just the beginning... it's risky. But I have to try."
Goten concentrates with everything he has, Godley ki starting to surround his body. Everything Vegeta taught him about Super Saiyan and Super Saiyan two is being poured into Saiyan God. Everyone then notices a bright light coming from the water.
"Look, over there!" Trunks yells.
As everyone looks over while Vegeta smiles, knowing that this fight isn't over yet. At that moment Gotens eyes fully open, revealing that they've changed from red to blue. A ball of blue energy then rockets out of the water towards the sky, surprising everyone.
"Was that... Goten?" Bulma asks.
Goten makes it back to space, but his appearance has changed. His hair is now spikey and blue, and his energy is still divine but more wild and overflowing. Somehow Goten has become the first Super Saiyan God. Beerus is surprised by this but smiles.
"Well, you're just full of surprises, Saiyan."
Goten just smiles, ready to continue the fight.
