As Goten is flying on Nimbus at top speed, he looks at his watch and sees that he has ten minutes until he is late.
"Alright, if we keep up this speed then I'll make it right on time." Goten says
At that moment, the young Saiyan hears screams and gunfire below him and sighs.
"Well, so much for being on time today. Go on home Nimbus, I'll take care of this alone. Thanks for the ride."
Goten jumps off of Nimbus and flies towards the trouble.
On the streets, a group of bank robbers open fire on two police officers hiding behind their car.
"Is this the best you cops can do? No way you're going to stop us!" One of the robbers say.
At that moment, Goten flies in and kicks the robber in the face and punches another one in the jaw. The last robber aims his machine gun right at Goten up close.
"Eat lead, punk!"
The robber opens fire, but Goten easily catches every bullet fired, dropping them to the ground at his feet. As the robber is stunned, Goten kicks him in the stomach and into car windshield. After the action is finished, the people around the area starts to cheer for the young man who just saved them. Goten looks at his watch and sees that he only has a few seconds to get to class.
"Oh, crap." Goten says to himself.
Before a nearby reporter can get an interview with him, Goten takes off in a blink of an eye, surprising everyone around him.
"Did...Did that kid just fly?" Someone asks.
With one second to spare, Goten runs into his class and sits down in a hurry, causing everyone to stare at him. Goten takes a deep breath of relief and smiles.
"Made it." Goten says.
Later that day, as Bulma works on a project, she sees a news report on the TV about a mysterious young man stopping a robbery, seeing a glimpse of Goten on the screen.
"Oh boy, Chichi won't be happy about this." Bulma says.
Vegeta walks into the room and sees the report for himself.
"Well, at least this one hasn't neglected his training like Kakarot's oldest brat." Vegeta says.
Bulma smirks.
"I know, I know, "Peace has made him soft", "He's wasting his strength" You've been saying this for a years now, hunny."
Vegeta sighs.
"I'm going to go train." Vegeta says kissing Bulma on the head.
Both Bulma and even Vegeta are surprised by this.
"Well, Vegeta. It's nice to see you show affection for your lovely wife." Bulma says with a smile.
Vegeta's face turns red as he walks away.
Meanwhile, as Gohan is in his office, his wife Vidal is telling him about Goten stopping the robbers.
"Although I am proud of my little brother for stopping those bank robbers before anyone got hurt, but I'm worried about mom's reaction." Gohan says.
"Yeah, my dad's not too happy about this either. He said it was just some young punk trying to steal the spotlight." Vidal says.
Gohan and Vidal laugh.
"Well, I just hope Goten doesn't mind the extra attention."
Back at school, While Goten walks down the hall beside his bestfriend Trunks, he gets stares and whispers.
"What's going on with everyone?" Goten asks.
Trunks chuckles.
"You're famous dude, everyone saw a video of you taking out those bank robbers." Trunks says.
Goten rubs the back of his head.
"Is it really that big of a deal?" Goten asks.
"Of course not to us, but to normal people who think Vidal's old man is the strongest guy in the world, a teenager taking on guys with guns is mind blowing." Trunks says.
Goten shrugs.
"I guess. Truth is I didn't break a sweat dealing with those guys. I wish there was some way I could at least try to go all out." Goten says.
A smirk appears on Trunks face as he reaches into his pocket and pulls out a poster for the world martial arts tournament coming up.
"Well in that case, I got something for you." Trunks says, showing Goten the poster.
Goten looks at it and smiles, excited about what he sees.
"Alright! Finally, I've been waiting for something like this." Goten says.
"It'll be easy work, until we get to fight each other though. Then of course I'll win the whole thing. Hope there's no hard feelings about me beating you." Trunks says.
As Goten laughs, Trunks sixteen year old sister(same age as Goten) Bulla soon approaches the two boys.
"Man, you're so full of yourself. Guy barely trains and still thinks he's king of the world." Bulla says with a smirk.
"When you're born with raw talent like me, you don't have to train all the time. And you're the one to talk, you don't even train at all." Trunks says.
Bulla scoffs.
"Yeah, because I don't care about that kind of stuff. I'll leave that to you boys."
Bulla then looks over at Goten and smiles, causing his face to turn red.
"Hi, Goten. Saw you on the news, you looked pretty good." Bulla says, getting close to him.
Gotens face turns even more red.
"Oh, um, thanks, Bulla. It was nothing, really." Goten says while rubbing the back of his head.
Bulla giggles
"Well boys, I gotta go. See you around, Goten." Bulla says, waving bye to Goten and hitting Trunks in the back of the head, for making fun of her and Goten in the background.
Goten stares at Bulla with a smile for a moment, before realizing he didn't say anything to her.
"Oh- see ya, Bulla." Goten says.
Trunks sighs, walking up beside his friend and putting his arm around his neck.
"Dude, can you go ahead and ask my sister out already? I don't know how long I can take of you two making googly eyes at each other."
Goten laughs, jokingly shoving Trunks off.
"Shut up. What about you? When are you going to ask out Mai?" Goten asks.
Trunks chuckles.
"Please, when have you ever seen me ask out a girl?" Trunks asks.
Goten thinks for a moment.
"Never." Goten replies.
"Exactly. Just play it cool, and she'll come to me."
At that moment, Mai comes down the hallway.
"Hey." She says to both of them.
"Hey, Mai." Goten says with a smile.
Trunks closes his eyes and lean against the locker.
"Mai." He says with a smooth voice.
Mai doesn't really acknowledge Trunks cool attitude.
"See? She's totally falling for me." Trunks says.
Goten can't help but smile at his friend as he walk to his other class.
Later that day, Goten arrives at his home and walks through the door.
"Mom, I'm-"
Goten gets startled by the sight of an upset Chichi standing there waiting for him.
"Home?" Goten says.
"I saw the news young man. What do you have to say for yourself?" Chichi asks.
"But mom, people were in danger, I had to help."
"I'm not other peoples mother, I'm yours! You've could've been shot!"
"Bullets don't affect me." Goten says.
"Don't talk back! I agreed for you to train with Krillin and Roshi, but that doesn't mean you get to put your life at risk." Chichi says.
Goten looks down, thinking to himself for a moment. He then looks up at Chichi, clenching his fists.
"I'm sorry for making you worry, mom. But if there's people that I can help, then I have to help in anyway I can."
Chichi stares at Goten for a moment, letting out a sigh and a smile. She then puts her hands on the young man's shoulders.
"You are your father's son. No matter how much I hate it, you're almost exactly like him, that's why I didn't try to stop you from training. But I don't want to loose you, the way I lost him." She says, putting her hand on the top of Gotens head.
Goten smiles and hugs his mother.
"You won't loose me mom, I promise."
Tears start stream down Chichi's face as she hugs Goten, lifting him up in the air and squeezing him tightly.
"Oh, my baby boy!"
Goten can barely breathe but still smiles all the same.
"Oh yeah- and, there's a- tournament coming up. Me and Trunks wanted to sign up."
"Is there a cash prize?" Chichi asks.
"Uh- I think so." Goten says.
"Then you go out there, and do your best sweetheart."
"You got it." Goten replies with a smirk.
