Chapter 10 - Chapter 2 - First Vision of Magic- Part 2

Father puts me in a small barrel before hastily leaving saying to stay where I'm at.. like I have much choice in the matter. I mean I can barely crawl and just started standing up. I manage to lift up the lid on the barrel slightly to see what's going on

As I see one of the pirates slash one of the ship crew in the back Father crashes his shoulders into him throwing him to the ground.

A shock of horror comes across the face of the 3 pirates and the one with the staff yells out saying this was supposed to be a standard shipping cargo run.

Why was the Chief on the boat and at this point, father punches him in the Jaw and throws him off the boat saying your type of people will never learn!

As the pirate that got knocked down slowly regains his posture he yells out I don't care who you are. We came for supplies and aren't leaving without them! It was at this moment my eyes lit up and I saw the most spectacular event ever.

This man raised his arm towards father and a green sphere formed with 6-8 knife like bands of wind sharply flowing within before he launches it at father and it explodes into a huge gust of wind almost throwing me out of the barrel and it smashed into farther who was pushed maybe 1-2 feet and cursed out loud followed by if you wanna get dirty then so be it.

He shouted up "Water's divine Justice" before being enveloped from his shoulders to his hands in a water gauntlet armor piece and a light stream of water flew off the heels of his feet and in a moment he dashed with such incredible speed that it felt as I couldn't even discern where he went.

In one swift motion he landed a gut wrenching punch into the pirates stomach mixing blood and water before nimbly kicking him into the side of the head launching him off the boat. The 3rd pirate said screw this and jumped off to escape to wherever they dock at. All the other dock crew come out of hiding and start clapping and one screams " That's our Chief Master of water of fighting"!!

Finally the water around his shoulders and arms evaporates around him as if giving off an extreme heat and leaving fathers arms in a dark red tint. Almost like a sun burn; he walks over to the barrel and says common lets get you out of there.

Not scared are you? Big bad pirates aren't nothing to worry about. I just shake my head and give a soft no. We finally doc back into the main port where I see father has his arm more bandaged up as we head home we stop by a hut about 2-3 blocks away from our house.

Where an old women says an enchantment "let all this is damaged be healed by the shifts in time, those that still breath have your injuries marked away with the flow of mana" and in a Marvelous green light the burn marks around his arms fades back to the normal skin tone and the cuts from wind like attack slowly close up and fade.

The women gasp slightly saying he needs to stop hurting himself that she's only getting older. This women looks to be maybe around 60-70 years old with dark grey hair and a cane. Father gives a light chuckle and says I can't give any promises before telling me to let's get a move on.

He picks me up like a suitcase and heads for home. Once we have arrived home it becomes a simple routine of drinking milk, having soft potato soup and then passing out before even noticing I'm tired.

The next 2 months seemed to fly by and honestly I lost track of time and would of never guessed I had already spent a year here if it was not for the potato soup having some type of flare that read 1 year on it after a long day of being out on the water with dad as he sailed accross the water testing the ships and what not.

This is peaceful I thought to myself and something I can come to enjoy. It might be different but as long as I can protect those I love and make up for my failures. That will be enough for me; I also started standing and my legs are slowly strong enough to support myself for long periods of time.

I think to myself how much progress I'm making and before I know it I'll be able to be more helpful and feel less like a burden. Regardless; I finally close my eyes before falling asleep after a long 1 year of absorbing a new world.
