Due to my clothes being unruly and unprofessional to attend any meeting in I rescheduled the meeting for another day. I could say it was a bad thing, but the truth was I needed the extra time.
Even so, I would be lying if I didn't say I wasn't mad that a damn dog ruined my clothes. especially since mud is hard to get off pure white clothes.
So since I had a few more days till the meeting, I finally took a day off, after working for almost two weeks straight with no break, due to severe planning for the meeting.
I was spending it in the gym jogging steadily on a treadmill while music pumped through my ears, tuning out the rest of the noise in the gym.
Me exercising was the only other way I could deal with my stress in a healthier way and to kept myself from overthinking, but I rarely had the chance to hence why I found simpler methods to relieve myself.
After an hour of just jogging in place, I turnt the treadmill off and grabbed my bottle of water, heading over towards the boxing ring on the other side of the gym.
I stood at a distance away from the ring sipping on my water as two bodies went at it, both delivering one steady punch after another.
The tallest one in the ring was burly and was covered in muscles and veins, staining every inch of his body. His stance was rough and evenly guarded with a smirk that graced his face, his eyes dead set watching the moves of his opponent.
While the competitor was smaller in size and only reached past his abdomen but she held her ground. Her eyes watched his every move, not letting her eyes linger away for a moment.
Unlike the man who stood firm before her, she patted lightly on her feet, dancing like a ballerina mastering her art with confidence in each swing.
They both stood their ground for a moment, watching each others moves. her eyes watched him like a archer looking to plant her arrow into his next move. He did the same that smirk not leaving from his protected teeth.
Just as the room shifted into a tense silence that's when he made the first move striking fast with lighting bolt like speed, but like she could tell the outcome of the battle she ducked fast under his exposed body and with the power of experience and the sweat of training, delivered a gut wrenching blow to his stomach.
Causing a loud oof sound to ring out of his mouth and to echo across the gym. she held that position as the man's body fell limp spit, drooling down his lips onto the ring, before she moved away as his body sunk to the floor.
The rows of men and women cheered happily screaming their hearts out with their pride and delight, while the other side that betted on the man grumbled and sighed in dismay as they all got up and walked out unsatisfied with the outcome of the match.
The woman in the ring laughed a hearty laugh as she high fived rows of her friends as they gave their congratulations. The man that was once lying on the ground in an unconscious state was now standing being held up by a friend of his as he leaned on him for support.
I heard him mumble a few words to her as a bundle of cash was handed to her in hand. though you could barely hear his voice her voice could be heard proudly.
Her deep but womanly voice echoed across the gym as she talked with experience, giving words of knowledge to the young man.
Michelle used to be a pro boxer and weighed 5th in women boxing. For almost 10 years, she held up this title until she was injured in a fight that left her with a limb in her left leg. But since she didn't want to totally give up on her dream, she created her own gym and settled for teaching women self-defense.
I started training with her 2 years ago to help better protect myself in certain situations. Since I've started my business, I've had multiple threats on my life and even an attempted kidnapping once. So, to keep myself safe, I take not only boxing classes but a gun handling class to and I'm pretty good at both.
I sat in one of the chairs lining the outside of the ring, watching them converse amongst each other while I sipped on my water. For a split second her gaze caught mine with a brief look before her eyes flew back to the people in front of her.
After a minute, the bodies that surrounded the ring slowly dwindled away, leaving her to the ring by herself, sweeping away the remains of the last match.
I jumped up from my chair and walked closer to the ring as she was focused on what she was doing. before I could open my mouth, she beat me to it with a low laugh.
"Two weeks no call and no show I started to think you forgot about me Ms.Patience" she sassed, finally looking up as she placed her hand on her hip, the other held the broom.
"I've been busy sipping on champagne and being interrogated by old white heads questioning how I make more money than them," I said smoothly, leaning on the side of the ring.
I heard her scoff before padding down the steps of the ring and walk towards the trash can sitting in the corner of the room.
"Guess they hate seeing a sista succed,"
"You know they do," I sassed
She chuckeld lightly, putting the broom back in its place before turning to me from across the gym.
"So are you up for a match or did you lose your touch to paperwork?" she smirked, her tone marked with confidence it made a small smirk appear on my lips.
"Please, the want to punch these intitled assholes keeps me motivated" I rolled my eyes pursing my lips she threw her head back and burst into laughter getting the attention of some of the people in the gym.
"Alright then Ms.Ma'am get your gear on and meet in the ring we're gonna see what's up," she jumped back in the ring, looking down at me.
I nodded my head and headed towards the locker room to quickly change into my gear.
My slim and slender body graced a grey Adidas sport bra that showed off the small tattoo between my breasts and exposed the small flower tattoo going down my spine. to top my outfit out I wore some grey Adidas tights.
I grabbed my gloves and my mouthpiece and the rest of my belongings before heading back out on the floor where Michelle was there gear on and ready going over her warm-ups.
From this distance, she looked exactly like a pro boxer getting ready for an upcoming match with her slender but musclar body and moves that seemed to flow like air.
I slid under the ropes on the other side of the ring to not disturb Michelle. While she warmed up, I did the same, stretching out my somewhat musclar body. My dark skin glistened under the lights, showing off the abs I slowly started to grow over time from each boxing lesson.
After a 20-minute warm-up, we were both ready to start. I got into my fighting position, and my eyes focused on Michelle as she did the same. The once prideful eyes now turned to stone as she focused on me.
We both circled the ring, our eyes never leaving the others. It felt like we were locked in a game of chess, both queens waiting for the next piece to be moved to ensure the outcome.
In a split second, both of us moved at the same time Michelle came in fast with a kick which I quickly dodged and followed up with a punch that she also dodged.
She dealt out another blow with lighting fast speed before following up with some more. While she boxed away at my hands, I held my defensive position, waiting for the right time to counterattack.
"So how did your business meeting go? Was it a success?" Michelle questioned, breathing heavily, not once letting up on her punches.
I dodged under her fist and dealt a fast punch to her abdomen before going back into defense position.
"I had to reschedule some white man, and his damn dog ruined my clothes," I replied, narrowing my eyes as I dodged another punch and hit her cheek.
"I'm not mad though I needed the extra time."
"You sure you're punching like you are?" she laughed, dodging my punch.
Just as I was pulling back, she grabbed my forearm and pulled me In to connect a punch I ducked quickly just as the punch breezed past my head. I yanked my arm out of her reach and pushed her back with both of my hands putting distance between us.
She regained her composure quick like a true professional and backed it up with a barrigae of punches that left me In a defense position with no opening to retaliate.
She was like a snake striking fast not giving her prey enough room to retaliate that's what caught so many of her competitors off guard; her lighting fast moves and strong defense.
I was backed into the ropes just holding my defense to keep the hits from connecting.
"Come on patience get up off them ropes you got this girl" she yelled over the sound of her heavy breathing and rapid hits.
I thought quick thinking about my next move I looked at every possible target on her body her weak points her openings anything but she was tightly secured while still attacking.
Everything but her waist, stomach and legs that she left completely defenseless.
With quick movement I dodged her last punch and used one of my legs to sweep her feet from under her making them buckle. I grabbed her underarm with one hand and the other hand pressed firmly against her chest and pushed her with all my strength to the ground knocking the wind out of her.
I stood back up quick and got back in defense position breathing heavily as sweat trailed down my forehead and onto the floor while Michelle laid out on the floor her eyes wide in shock.
Michelle quickly stumbled to her feet out of breath as she rested her hands on her knees when I noticed she wasn't gonna fight back I dropped my position and placed my hands on my hips as my chest heaved for air.
"Damn girl you've gotten better I'm proud of you. You even managed to get me down" she praised nodding her head as she reached for her water
I nodded my head and grapped a hold of my water to sip on. Even though she praised me I knew she was holding back.
I finished my water in one swing before taking a seat on the side of the ring. Michelle came and joined me sitting on the side of me.
We sat in silence for a good minute both resting our aching muscles and body, before Michelle broke the silence.
"So how have you been for these past two months" michelle started up kicking her legs back and forth.
"I've been good just can't wait for this meeting to be over so I can go back to my normal schedule. How are my nieces and nephew's ?"
"Their good just want you to come over more often they miss you" she laughed lightly making me smile sweetly at the thought of them.
"When are you gonna settle down and get married" she asked turning to me as she sipped on her water.
"When my ass and breast sagg and I can't please myself," I replied in a monotone voice pursing my lips in which she laughed at.
"Girl you to young and pretty to be without a man you should at least get out there and talk to somebody and before you say anything taking a man home isn't associating" she said giving me a knowing look.
I shrugged my shoulders and stood up, stretching my body out. "No offence, michelle, what can love do that I can't do for myself except screwing lots of people over. besides, if love was real, the world wouldn't be the way it is now, " I replied softly as I grabbed my bag and my purse
"Alot actually It can bring out things about yourself that you've never seen before, and make you feel things that you've never experienced. who knows?it might just do the same to you" she voiced making me stop for a second and reminisce before that cold mask fell back onto my face
"Well until then I'll be sipping on some champagne by my pool waiting for it at the door of my mansion" I said over my shoulder as I walked towards the exit.
