Chapter 1 - I´ll be lucky someday

I´ll be lucky someday – By the time I get to Phoenix by Glen Campbell

---

"My life has been filled with sadness, truth is, i don't have the slightly idea of how it is to live as a human anymore."

I had 2 loving parents, my dad is a businessman, he is firm and determined and makes good money, my mom is loving and caring, she always makes sure I am well fed.

My name is Rayne Williams, I was born in a storm just like Nikola Tesla and Vlad the Impaler, but im not half the genius or monster as them, my mom had a weird sense of humor, so she named me Rayne as wordplay, she had a lame sense of humor.

My life isn't that bad, I was smart in middle school, I had a "Great potential", or so my teacher thought, I was just a medium fish on a small pond, my grades went downhill once I entered High school, they weren't precisely bad, yet they weren't enough to get me into a top university, but hey, opportunities don't lack right?

Then, tragedy struck as a thunderstorm to a poor fishboat, it seems like I had a rare genetic disease that my mother family side has, Rheumatoid arthritis, it isn´t that bad right?, I sometimes see mother cry from the pain, and her hands are slightly off but it isn't that bad, it's a disease that will only get worse with time, but it only is bad when I get old, I'm still really young and strong!

Fibromyalgia, doctors Cases of both are typically two-to-three times higher in women than men, I guess I won the genetic lottery!

So almost all physical activities are off the bat, it wasn't that I couldn´t do them, I very well could, it just that doing them put me under excruciating pain, like every muscle on my body was burning inside my own skin.

So, I had to adapt to a more tranquil hobby, reading, when you read you don't exactly move, yet, through the pages I could still feel as If I could, it started first with normal books, some friends of mine introduced me to anime, then I read light novels, and in a downwards spiral, I ended up with web-novels.

It was refreshing to say at least, the lack of a quality control meant that anyone, not matter how good or bad, could write their own novel!

I finished high school with not so flashing colors and started working with my father in the family company, it wasn´t the work I desired, yet, it was all I could get if I wanted to make good money.

It wasn´t so bad, I could still be happy right?

Mother died.

My father took it worse, in her testament, she asked to be cremated, to get rid of the body that imprisoned her, she explicitly said "I don't want Elios to read this, if he does, I would have failed as a mother to him, I don't want to make him suffer knowing he will end up like me".

I did, I did read this, this were the last word that I read coming from her.

Dad got drunk, he preferred to be drunk that knew her wife took her own life because of a sickness he couldn´t stop, and worse, his son, will meet the same fate.

The food was always cold.

It doesn't matter, there is still hope, during those dark times, I discovered a novel, it had a generic title, [Strongest swordsman with the strongest system], it was the story about an orphan kid that after having his village attacked, with the help of an ancient artifact of sorts, becomes extremely powerful and gets access to an Op system, pretty generic, but the difference being, everyone died, every single character had a tragic backstory or ending, no matter what, fate was the same, the protagonist passed from a youthful kid who wished to stop the demons from destroying the world, to a hermit that just wanted to end it all.

In a recent arc, he discovered that the artifact that he had was connected to a weird super-weapon in the demon realm, and using his system, he is currently fighting one of the seven demon kings in hell to get access to the super weapon and blow it all up, Humans and demon-kind alike.

It had gotten interesting lately, I knew the author would beat up the poor man a little and then system would power him up like always!

And so, in his fight with the Demon king of rotten flies, the great warrior Caleb perished.

The end

Authors notes: I'm sorry guys, but for personal reasons I will be incapable of continuing the novel any further, I know there are a lot of things unexplained, but I think it would be better to end things like this.

This…This…

Rain falls outside home.

A sudden notification awakens me from the deep shock.

***

SkyFalling: To my faithful reader, this was my last chapter, but, to you, my dear reader, I send you this, a final gift from a not so kind author, go check the mail.

***

Weird, its really weird, creepy really, but it's really ridiculous, how dares he to joke like this, the last straw was throwed away and he dares to joke like this, I, I simply can't!

As my rant began, I heard a knock on the main door of the house, at first, I thought the knocks were thunder from the storm brewing outside, but they weren't.

I quickly made my way to the main door, were silence only remained, once I opened the door, a package was laying outside the door facing the streets, a torrential rain fell, yet the package wasn't a little soaked.

I quickly pulled the package in, it was slightly heavy, but it gets difficult to differentiate weights when one is weak.

The brown package laid on the ground of my living room, totally dry despite the apocalyptic rain that was happening outside.

With the help of a kitchen knife, I opened the package, and inside it, were…

A pair of human eyes inside a jar!

I quickly dashed away from the box, once the eyes were out of my field of vision, I checked my phone once again.

***

This was the best I could get for you; I wish you the best of the lucks.

Rain fell, a thunderous strike blinded the world, once I opened my eyes, the box was still there, but…

The room was different?
