Chapter 42 - Klee wants to marry Jams

"Can we go to your place... for real?"

Lumine's eyes shimmered with a mix of shyness and anticipation, not worried at all about Jams having any ulterior motives.

Jams nodded, "Of course, we instantly clicked, and I can't bear the thought of you and Paimon being alone out there."

"Fisher, how come you suddenly know how to sweet talk? Well, since you complimented me on being cute, I'll reluctantly agree to represent Lumine," Paimon crossed her arms, happily speaking.

"Yeah, I'll pay the rent!" Lumine chuckled, her tone gentle.

"Big brother Jams..."

At that moment, Klee tugged gently at Jams' clothes, her sparkling eyes blinking. "Klee wants to spend the night at big brother Jams' place too."

"No problem, let's ask your leader Jean if we can somehow convince her to come as well..."

"I... I want to go too!" Noelle hesitated for a moment but ultimately raised her hand.

"Then count me in!" Barbara didn't want to be left behind either.

"I'm Lumine's guide, can't leave me out!" Amber quite enjoyed the feeling of everyone being together.

The bard Venti, who wasn't very productive, also raised his hand. "Hey, um, I..."

"Get lost!"

SPLASH!

Jams kicked him and sent him flying into the Wine Lake.

...

They entered Mondstadt.

"It looks like a nice city, with fresh air, clean streets, and everyone wearing friendly smiles."

Paimon, fluttering around, took a deep breath, her cute face brimming with delight.

"Well, of course! Mondstadt, the City of Freedom, isn't just a nickname for show!"

Amber placed her hands on her hips, her pretty face beaming with pride.

Barbara and Noelle felt much the same way. After all, Mondstadt was their home, and receiving praise from outsiders made them feel proud.

"Alright, stop gawking around. Let's go to my place first, get acquainted."

Jams patted Lumine's shoulder and led them into the residential area south of Mondstadt. They stopped in front of a stylish building.

"Is this Mr. Jams' residence?"

Lumine halted her steps, curious as she looked at the three-story wooden structure with its red-tiled roof.

"This is..."

Noelle immediately recalled the name of the three-story building. "This is the Goth Grand Hotel. Jams, have you been living in a hotel?"

"I mentioned before, my family has quite a big place."

Jams slightly raised the corner of his mouth, unintentionally revealing his wealthy background. "After coming to Mondstadt, I used all my savings to buy the Goth Grand Hotel. I occasionally collect rent and such..."

"What!?"

Not only Noelle but even Barbara, Amber, and Klee showed expressions of surprise.

"Big brother Jams is actually a millionaire!?"

"I wouldn't go that far. It's just a small hotel, hehe," Jams modestly shook his head.

Klee's golden eyes sparkled with excitement as she tightly hugged Jams' thigh and sweetly smiled. "Now Klee doesn't have to worry about big brother Jams not being able to afford a dowry, yay!"

"..."

Enjoying the envious glares from everyone, Jams's mouth twitched slightly. Unable to resist, he reached out and lightly flicked Klee's forehead, saying with a hint of annoyance, "Dowry? What nonsense is going through that little head of yours?"

"Hmph, Klee just... wants to... wants to marry Jams..." Little Klee covered her forehead and pouted in distress.

"Jams, could you please come with me!"

Upon hearing this, the scout knight Amber immediately pulled out her identification: "You have the right to remain silent, but anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law!"

"What does all this have to do with anything? Klee and I are not like that, you have to listen to my explanation... It's not... listen to me!"

Jams reached out and held Amber's delicate neck and waist, persuading her kindly, "Klee is just a little girl, she doesn't understand the consequences of her words. Even if she wants to get married, I won't agree, and even if I agree, Jean won't approve."

"Even if Jean agrees, I won't agree!" Barbara huffed and glared at Jams.

"Even if both of them agree, I won't consent to this marriage!"

Noelle's light green eyes emitted a faint golden light of Geo element, and her demeanor became calm and serious.

Anything can be compromised, but not Jams!

"..."

Lumine rubbed her golden hair, unsure of what to say.

"Lumine, it seems interesting. Why don't you join in the fun?" Paimon whispered into Lumine's ear, suggesting mischief.

"Don't come up with any more ideas!"

Lumine glared at Paimon, then took the initiative to go over and help Jams out of the situation. "Amber, Mr. Jams is a good person, he would never harm Klee."

"Lumine understands me."

Jams, with a touched expression, said, "Although I may be handsome, I'm not that bad... But, by the way, is there a law in Mondstadt that prohibits marrying Klee?"

"Wow, you do have ideas after all!" Amber once again locked onto Jams' throat.

"Cough, cough, cough... If it's not against the law... why can't I think about it... cough, cough..."

Jams felt truly wronged. Even the Mondstadt penal code might not care about such things, yet they still wanted to meddle in matters of love. Does love need to consider age? Superficial, hmph!

"Even if the law doesn't care, we should learn to restrain ourselves with morals!" Amber lectured with righteous words.

"Save it, as long as I lack morals, morals can't bind me!"

Jams stood tall, his chest puffed out, feeling righteous even in the face of injustice!

Then suddenly, he felt darkness in front of his eyes, as if many small fists were greeting his "fragile" body.

Thump, thump, thump!

Seeing Jams suddenly pinned to the ground by the older sisters, Klee felt both moved and worried.

In Klee's heart, Jams was not a despicable lolicon but rather a superhero willing to defy the world for her sake!

"Sob, sob, please stop hitting each other!"

Klee pouted and suddenly reached into her backpack, threateningly saying, "If you don't stop, Klee will take out her boomsie bombs!"

"..."

The actions of the girls "educating" Jams immediately froze, then they all smiled and kindly helped Jams up.

"Oh my, Jams, why did you fall on the ground? You're already so grown-up, why do you still like lying on the ground and acting cute, you silly goose~"

"I just wanted to stop them, but I couldn't..." Noelle said weakly.

"It's fine, you're not fragile, and that's not even considered a real injury. A healing spell can fix it." Barbara tossed a Hydro-element healing at Jams.

"Jams, are you okay?"

Lumine supported Jams and gently wiped his face, still radiating her beautiful and sunny presence.

"What could be wrong with me... I hope your fists aren't injured... be careful not to break any bones... cough, cough, cough!"

Jams took out a comb and tidied his hair, then looked around at the group of beautiful girls with a hint of displeasure. "I feel like you didn't really hit me for Klee's sake."

"You're just jealous that I have a grand hotel in Mondstadt and deliberately picked a fight with me!"

With that, he pushed open the doors of his hotel.

"Come in, but don't sleep too soundly tonight, or else I'll make sure you regret it!"

...

The next morning.

Creak, creak...

Jams felt the bed beneath him rocking and creaking.

The noisy sounds not only woke him up but also woke up little Klee, who was sleeping in his arms.

"Ugh, Big Brother Jams, good morning, mmm~"

"Good morning? Save the 'I love you' for next time... By the way, what's happening outside? It's so loud... Oh my god!"

Just as Jams was about to get up and check the situation on the street, a giant boulder suddenly descended from the sky, narrowly missing his scalp!

Boom, boom, boom!

"What the hell! My house!"

The furniture in the bedroom was completely smashed!

Jams looked bewildered at the large hole on the ground and before he could even start getting angry, he heard terrified screams coming from the street.

"It's the stormterror! The stormterror is here!!!"
