Ravenna and Lucifer appeared in the Great Hall of the UnderKingdom. He gently set her down, allowing her to stand on her own. Ravenna immediately gripped the arm of the throne, trying to steady herself. She had never realm-traveled, as her attempts with Michael had failed. Her stomach rolled, and her knees were weak. How did Michael and Lucifer do this all the time? Was that something they just were used to? Her head spun.
"Ravenna? Would you like to sit or have a drink? Your first few times realm-traveling is difficult." Lucifer tried to reassure Ravenna that what she felt was expected, but she felt anything but ordinary. "Here, let me call for some water for you. Edward!"
Lucifer guided Ravenna to sit on the throne as a man with paper-white skin, snow-white hair, and blood-red eyes appeared in a cloud of red smoke. "Greetings, Master Lucif – oh, hello." The man interrupted his greeting to Lucifer as his attention focused on the woman sitting on the throne.
"Edward, could you please bring water for the young woman? It was her first time realm-traveling, and it has not agreed with her." Lucifer addressed the man who had appeared in the Great Hall, who bowed and disappeared in the same manner he had appeared. "Do not mind him, dear. Edward has not seen a living human woman in a thousand years."
The man called Edward returned an ornate glass pitcher and several glasses on a tray. He offered a glass to Ravenna and looked at the woman sitting on his master's throne as if she was the most fascinating creature he had seen in a long time. "Th-Thank you E-Edward." Ravenna stuttered. She took the glass from the man, who continued to stare.
Ravenna shifted uncomfortably on Lucifer's throne. Lucifer noticed her movements and grasped Edward's shoulder. "Edward, how about you find Hellena and bring her here?" Edward's focus on Ravenna was broken, and his gaze transferred to Lucifer.
"Apologies, Master Lucifer, what was it that you requested?" Edward pressed his lips together, bowing his head slightly.
Lucifer patiently took a deep breath and repeated his request. "I would like you to find Hellena, and bring her to me, please. I would like a female demon to help take care of our guest here. I would also like you to make our guest feel welcome. No more staring. I know it has been centuries since you have seen a living human, but she is not to be stared at. Understood?"
"Yes, Master Lucifer." Edward turned and grasped Ravenna's hand, bringing it to his pale lips. "My deepest apologies. I did not mean to make you uncomfortable. I shall return with Hellena for you." Edward disappeared in his cloud of red smoke, leaving Lucifer and Ravenna alone in the Great Hall.
Ravenna started to feel less nauseous after sitting and having a drink. She no longer felt the dizziness from the realm travel and could look around where she was. The Great Hall where Lucifer had brought her to was sleek; the room had black walls with black marble flooring. Gold lanterns were placed along the walls, and several golden firepits were sunken into the floor. The walls had golden accents, and several black marble benches lined the walls. Lucifer had a dark aesthetic, and the Great Hall suited him.
"How are we feeling now, my dear?" Lucifer's words rang out across the Great Hall. He stepped toward Ravenna, who had settled on the throne.
"I'm okay now, thank you. I'm just worried about Michael. His Brother Zerachiel found him and told him the Archangels are coming. He is going to be taken back to the Kingdom. I'm so afraid of what is going to happen to him," Ravenna sniffled. Her nausea relaxed, allowing her to feel the anxiety about what Zerachiel had come to warn them of. "The Archangels have a way of tracking anyone as long as they have something important to their target. No matter where Michael goes, they will find him. He is doomed."
Ravenna began to cry. She understood what Zerachiel had told Michael, and the warning that she had passed on to Lucifer. Sympathy crossed Lucifer's face. He sat on the arm of the throne and pulled Ravenna closer to him, allowing her to cry into his ribs. Ravenna allowed him; Lucifer may be a troublemaker, but she felt genuine compassion from the Fallen man.
A pair of red clouds of smoke appeared in the Great Hall before the throne. Edward returned with a woman alongside him. The woman was similar to Edward in appearance; her skin was paper-white, and her eyes were blood red. Her long white hair was pulled back with a black ribbon. The pair bowed, speaking in unison. "Good evening, Master Lucifer."
Lucifer did not move, allowing Ravenna to weep into his side. "Thank you both. Hellena, I am sure you see we have a guest here. It has been a long time since we have had a living guest in the UnderKingdom. I would like you to prepare the room next to my own and see to it that Miss Hawthorne here has a comfortable stay while she is with us. She is with us under emergency circumstances, and by no means are any inhabitants of our UnderKingdom, the Human Realm, or the Kingdom to approach her without my knowledge, excluding you and myself."
The demon woman bowed. "Understood, Master Lucifer. The room will be prepared. Summon me if my services are required." Hellena disappeared in a cloud of red smoke, off to complete her list of tasks.
The other demon in the room raised his white eyebrow. "Master Lucifer, if I may…you have strict orders regarding who may approach our guest. What has happened to be so cautious?"
Lucifer's face grew dark. "The Archangels are after the Seraphim Michael. I am concerned that to get to him, they may try to get to our dear Ravenna here. I will be using some blood magic to cast enchantments on the guest room to ward off the angels."
Edward looked at the small woman crying into his master's side. "Understood. We will keep her safe under any circumstance. The UnderKingdom is our home. And while our guest is here, it is her home as well."
