*YAAAAWWWWNNN*
I yawned after I finally completed the 500+ chapter long web novel.
I looked at the time on my tablet.
'wow... I read that for 5 hours straight, huh...', I thought when I saw the time.
It was 2:30 AM.
'I should go to sleep now... don't wanna be late to class tomorrow...'
-----------an unknown amount of time later-----------
I opened my eyes slightly. Squinting towards the ceiling. The temperature was colder than usual. Well, it wasn't cold enough to cover myself with a blanket...
I woke up completely within a few minutes, and came to my senses.
'wait... where's the fan?', I thought as I looked at the fan-less ceiling.
Come to think of it, my ceiling wasn't this clean...
I immediately jumped up from the bed and looked around the room. My face distorted with confusion and then changed to fear.
'w-w-w-what... is this...?', I thought to myself.
'w-wait... maybe this is a lucid dream?', I said as I picked up my right hand and began to count the number of fingers I had.
'1...2...3...4...5...!!!', I jumped up in fear.
I punched myself in gut, and sure enough, I felt the pain.
The room I was in was not my own. It looked like a dorm room of sorts. It was extremely clean and had a minimalistic design, mostly white and blue.
But the most shocking thing about this room was the PC desk beside the bed. No, should I even call it a PC? It had a holographic monitor and a laser-based keyboard. Everything looked super modern...
'okay, calm down... I need to assess my situation and come to a suitable conclusion...'
I got out from bed and tried to recall what had happened last night.
But as soon as I started to recall what had happened, I collapsed. Not because I passed out, but because of pain.
My head started to hurt like hell. It was like getting hit by a sledgehammer over and over again. It was excruciating.
Death seemed like a better option than to endure that pain.
The torture lasted for 5 more minutes, which felt like days.
Finally after the pain had subsided, I got up from the ground staggeringly and sat down on the bed again.
'what... is this...', I thought.
Memories. Not my own, but someone else's. They feel so hollow for some reason.
"Samuel... Francis...?", I spoke up loudly, which made me even more confused.
"What the hell? I don't sound like tha-... wait a minute...", I paused that thought, and rushed towards the bathroom, which I somehow knew the location of.
I entered the bathroom, which was also super modern, and turned on the mirror. Yes you read that right, I had to put in a password to open the mirror. The mirror opened and I saw my face, along with some icons of apps and the time.
No, it wasn't my face.
In the mirror I could see a 17 year old kid with jet-black hair, orange eyes. He was wearing light-blue pajamas. If I were to rate him, he would be 7/10. He wasn't handsome enough to turn heads, but he looked cool enough to be respectable.
That kid was not me. I was a guy with brown hair, brown eyes and I was fairly handsome. I never looked like that!
But as much as I wanted to deny it, it seemed like I had taken over the body of this Samuel Francis kid...
And that was the least of my worries, as the world I was currently in, was exactly like the novel I finished reading right before sleeping last night.
"Shit...", I said audibly. Surprisingly, the voice of this kid was kinda cool. It was deep and clear.
The reason why I was cursing was quite simple. Its because this novel has a tragic end. Everyone other than the protagonist dies in a great war.
I left the bathroom and went back to the bedroom. I don't remember a Samuel Francis guy in the novel. I don't think any of the main cast or the supporting cast had black hair and orange eyes...
'He's most probably an extra character...', I thought.
"Hmm... Status.", I said out loud. I knew that this system existed in this new world.

"Hmm... apart from the Synopsis, I think this guy isn't half bad...", I said out oud while looking at the blue holographic window in front of me.
This Samuel Francis guy was most definitely a Mage. He was apparently talented enough to be enrolled at [Nexus Academy], the world's most prestigious academy that produces 'Hunters' that are capable of defending humanity from monsters, other races and dungeons.
Yeah, this world was like one of those cliche worlds, where there was futuristic technology, magic and other races along with dungeons and many other supernatural phenomenon. You get the idea, right? Also, after the dungeons started popping up, the continental plates merged and formed one great super-continent, which the humans called 'Pangea 2'
It seemed like I still had 2 weeks time before I had to go to the Academy.
'Good. I can't waste time in this world if I don't want to die.'
'As for what happened to me, back in my world, or who or what brought me here... I can't seem to find any possible explanations for it right now... I should just focus on the present more... Maybe when I get stronger, I'll be able to know...', I didn't pay much mind to my current predicament. I knew that moaning about it won't help anyone.
'Lets get the bare minimum of what I will need to survive the future...', thinking that, I opened my wardrobe, put on a black shirt and black trousers, and went outside 'My' house.
Apparently Samuel Francis lived alone. He was an orphan from birth, raised in an orphanage, had a very normal childhood in an orphanage, got recognized for his talent in magic, and was scouted by Nexus Academy to be a boarding student there.
After I went outside my room I was greeted by a small living room with a TV on the wall, and a small white sofa with a tea table in front of it. The door leading outside was just behind the TV.
Not minding the high-tech and modern aesthetic of the whole room, I left the house and was greeted with a view of the sky. The apartment was 6 floors high, and it overlooked a small part of the town.
I immediately left the apartment building and went straight towards a Skyrail station. Skyrail was a train system that went through the sky with the help of advanced electromagnetism, and superconductors, as well as wind magic. There were lines through the sky, which served as the tracks for the trains. Also, they were much smaller than the trains on the ground, which by the way still existed and are still very popular, as the fairs for a Skyrail was much higher than the Groundrails.
Although I didn't have to worry about the cost, since I had a VIP pass to get onboard for free, as I was a soon-to-be student of Nexus Academy.
