Chapter 5
What did he just say? I look like a donkey? Omg! How dare he compare me and worse to a donkey!
"What did you say?!" I asked irritatedly.
"You look like a donkey." He repeated his sentence with a teasing tone.
The fuck! Did he really repeat it?
"Girl, that's right. Stop it now! Everyone has been looking at us," Nasse said softly to me while holding my shoulder.
I took a deep breath and looked around and Nasse was right. Many people are looking at us and they all look at me badly.
What did I do? I'm the one who got insulted— that I look like a donkey and then they're still mad at me? How could they?
"Calm down, okay?" Nassed added.
"How could I calm down if this person compared me to a donkey? Tell me how, Nasse?" I asked him in a low tone of voice.
Nasse didn't answer anymore because he pulled me out of the queue. I struggled but he pulled me even harder until we got out of the cafeteria.
He let go of me as soon as we got away from the cafeteria. He immediately hit me on my shoulder so I gave him a bad look.
"Why did you drag me here?" I asked Nasse, annoyed. "That guy is getting on my nerves! He's been pissing me off since enrollment!"
I almost tripped with so much annoyance and frustration.
That man is really annoying.
What's his name again? Aidan—
"That's Blue Aiden Lacsamana, Girl and you can't get mad at him. He's the king of this campus and he can do whatever he wants," Nasse uttered.
My forehead crest as I heard what he said. What did he just say? That man is the king here? Wee? He is the king of arrogance and stupidity, tsk!
"Tsk. It's not obvious, Nasse," I said with a sigh. "Come on! Let's just hang out in the field."
I am disgusted with that man. I really hope our paths never cross again because when we meet again? Alas! Alas! I might not be able to estimate him and all of a sudden my fist flew into his face.
He must be thankful because Nasse pulled me earlier otherwise my hard as rock fist met an ugly face.Blue Aiden Lacsama, you are ugly! You look like a gentle monkey.
I'm sick of sitting on the grass and frowning watching those people walking down the hallway to the other building.
"Nasse, what building is that?" I asked while pointing at the bigger building and it looked brand new.
We are a new building.
"Architecture," he answered.
"They're lucky to be there. Imagine a new building," I said with envy in my voice.
Because our building looks old. Not even renovated. Our tuition fee is expensive and the building we go to study in is so old. It's not literally old but it looks really old. There is just a lack of renovation and cleaning of the glasses.
"I also heard that our building is going to be repaired. I just don't know when," said Nasse, turning to me in his direction.
The fuck! I just complained that our building is old and then... then it will be repaired.
"Why are you so surprised?" He asked.
I shrugged my shoulders and looked away. "I thought they didn't have plans to fix our department because our tuition fees are expensive and then your building… and I'm even complaining earlier before you said that they have plans to repair our department"
I let out a deep sigh. "It's a little old and ugly. Not that I'm mocking but it's really ugly."
Nasse burst into laughter.
"I thought I was the only one who noticed that our building was old. I really like you now, Amaris," he said while clapping his hands.
"I like you too," I said. I faced him and I saw his lips twitch. "Gaga! As a friend. Don't assume, Girl!"
I gave him a hard time and just looked again at the people who were there in the field. It's not hot here because there are many trees standing all around. This place is breezy and very relaxing.
Sleepy.
"So you and Blue have met?" Nasse suddenly asked me. I was silent and did not mind his question. Seriously, until now my vision gets dark every time I hear that guy's name.
My god! That man is getting on my nerves!
"Please! Don't mention his name to me, Nasse. My vision is getting dark. Just ask me anything except how we met," I uttered and bit my lower lip.
It's true. I don't want to talk about that monkey. I don't want to talk about the first time we met or how he became an enemy. Maybe he was really conceived out of spite or being abnormal so whenever our paths cross, he blames me. He blames me when something bad happens to him.
Maybe he really is a jerk..
He was born to be a pest in my life.
"Amaris!"
I turned to the person who called me. I was surprised because I saw Kyeler walking in our direction and he was with someone. Guess who? He looks like him. They look the same from how they dress up and how they walk. They both have the same demeanor and are the same outfit from head to toe. Except for their hair.
Kyeler's hair is messy and a bit curly. The guy beside him, on the other hand, is fine and looks like a model. They both look like models but Kyeler is the hot one with his clothes and hair. His curly hair is perfect for him.
"Kyeler!" I greeted him. A wide smile formed on my lips. "What are you doing here?" I asked.
He sat beside me. "Well, we were about to go to the architecture building. But I saw you here and I am here. I just want to chit chat with you," he uttered.
My face suddenly warmed up at what he said. Does its mouth really have no brakes? Straight to the point.
Honestly. I like him— I mean I've had a crush on him since the day I met him. You don't like what you want, do you? I just like him because he is kind and handsome.
I just have a crush on him. That's it!
"Nasse, it's Kyeler..." I introduced Kyeler to my friend Nasse.
"I know, girl. I know him and who doesn't know the five of them?" Nasse spoke with a smile. "They are the only ones walking F5 here in the University," he added.
What? Walking F5? What is that?
"It's not. We're just normal people. It's just that other people are really overacting," said Kyeler.
"You are right, bro. I'm already annoyed with them. I know I'm handsome and hit, but don't let them tell me that they're dead in love with my handsomeness," Kyeler's twin said while laughing
Aye! GGSS only?
He's really handsome but he's just airy.
"Kye, what is your twin's name?" I asked softly that only he could hear. His twin's place is far away from the two of us.
Kyeler smiled at me and my heart beat so fast. Everything seems to be in slow motion. He's perfect in my eyes whenever he smiles. He's handsome and hot.
Heart, stop! You can't be attracted, okay? You've promised to Justine that you will never be attracted to men. So stop! You can't be attracted!
I slowly shook my head and looked away. I forgot. I'm here to study, not to waste time. I promised my friend that I would not enter into a relationship.
I should stop this.
I've been doing this since the beginning of class. My god! Amaris, stop.
"He's Keiran Rhys..." it answered.
"Oh okay."
"Don't you have school today?" Kyeler asked me.
I shook my head. "It's 11 am later. Nasse and I are just hanging out here. Getting some fresh air."
"Hey you? I thought you were going to the Architecture building?" I asked him.
"Yes, but our next class will be later," he answered.
"But we have to leave now because Blue texted me that if we don't leave the field then we shouldn't go in," Keiran said fearfully.
Omg! Is he afraid of Blue? Who the hell is Blue huh? Boss? Who are you really, Blue?
"We're leaving, because Amaris, our pet dog, is begging," Kyeler said laughing.
Dog? You mean monkey!
"Oh okay, be careful you might get bitten," I said with a smile. "But of course it's just a joke."
Keiran laughed. "Don't worry, our dog is vaccinated."
The three of us, Nasse and Kyeler, just laughed at what Keiran said. He's strong enough to look down on Asul now, but just earlier he was scared.
Wow! Change real quick.
"Vaccinated ha? I'll report you to him later," Kyeler said laughing.
"Bro, don't!" He sounds like a child while saying those words.
I just shook my head while looking at the two running in the field. They are like children who have escaped from their cage.
The two of them are cute. Imagine how handsome they are and admired by other people, but when they act, they are like a kid.
Maybe that's how people really are... there's something hideous in the body.
Let's just say that all of the mature people are just hiding their naughty side. They are serious about everything but that doesn't mean they are no longer naughty. They may also have naughty sides.
Being naughty is not a sign of being immature, okay?
"I don't know what your vitamins were before but why did you become close to them immediately even though you were new here?" Nasse asked me like a child.
I just laughed at him.
"Actually, I just met Kyeler. He just helped me get home because I was lost," I said and I smiled every time I remembered how kind and cool he was. "He's cool because even I don't know how to get home but him? He knows. I just told him who I live with and then, I'm home."
Nasse laughed but weakly. "But seriously? You really don't know how to go home?"
I nodded. "Yeah. It's my first time and the one who was supposed to tour with me and go home with me left me behind."
"Ohh! It's sad."
"Neither."
It's not sad either because now she seems to be kind. I know where her anger comes from. She was mad at Auntie Marina because she sent her to the states even though Lexi didn't want to... Lexi didn't want to go to America because she didn't want to be away from her Mommy but Auntie did it anyway and she got mad... Lexi was very mad at Aunt Marina and now she wants to get back at her daughter but Lexi is really angry. She hated us but she was trying to be kind.
"Class dismissed!"
I arranged my things and put them inside the bag. I took a deep breath and got up from sitting, but before I went out, I asked Nasse if he would join me for lunch today.
"Who are you with for lunch?" I asked Nasse.
"Nothing. Maybe it's just me," he answered.
"You can join me. Let's go together but I'll eat outside. I don't like the food in the cafeteria," I said and winced.
I feel that the food in the cafeteria is not safe. It's not because I'm insulting the food, but because in our school in the province, the food doesn't taste good and there are still hairs sometimes. The food in the cafeteria must have been a trauma for me.
"Okay! Let's just go to the Apollo restaurant," he answered.
My budget can only handle street eateries, just kidding. I have money from my savings and for my school activities in the future.
"Don't you like street eateries? I swear they're safe and delicious to cook. Their food is just like home cooking," I said as we started to walk out of the classroom.
"Wee? Seriously?" He asked.
I nodded. "Yup and you can save more."
"Okay. Let's try to eat."
Both Nasse and I were smiling as we walked down the hallway of our building. Everyone is looking at us but we don't care. We walked as we owned the hallway, that we owned the spotlight.
If the person hates you that much, let it be. They are not the only people in the world. If they don't like you, let them. Don't force someone to like you or love you. Be who you are, that's the only way you can do.
