The rest of the evening continued without incident. Mrs. Yuki insisted I stay for dinner, but I declined because I didn't want to continue embarrassing myself.
Mrs. Yuki became a little sad when I refused, but I took little notice.
When my blazer was finally dry, I went to exit the house.
"Thank you, Yuki-san, for showing me your house. I hope that I can listen to you play guitar again soon."
"Ah, you're welcome… eh? Anyways, come anytime you feel like it! I love when people listen to my music, it feels like I'm back to being a rockstar."
"See 'ya, Yuki-san!"
With that I wave her goodbye and make my way to my house, which was a little way away. The sun had already set, and the streetlights silently hummed.
Listening to the streetlights I also started humming, partly imitating the song I heard earlier by Mrs. Yuki.
Hmm~Hmm~Hmm~
I walked at a relatively normal pace, not really minding when I got home. Rather I was focused on the sky. It was the change just before the stars came out, so it was dark but the light from the sun still lingered. Walking down this path I felt a cool breeze that seemed to ask for an encore from my humming, to which I complied.
Humming some more, I looked to my right and saw the houses repeating. It all had the same look as mine. To the left was more of the same. This was a sight I've seen throughout all my repeats. However, some strange fascination with these buildings have prevented me from becoming bored of the same sights.
I finally make it back to my house, and upon arriving I notice a strange silhouette on my doorstep.
'My lunchbox! How'd it end up here?'
It was my lunchbox that I had left in the classroom. On inspecting it there was a note that had exquisite handwriting on it, and it read
"You forgot your lunchbox and never came back for her. She was so sad. So, I brought her here. Remember to give her more love by feeding her more food!"
I looked left and right to see if whoever left the note was still nearby, but they weren't. I took the note and folded it neatly and picked up my lunchbox.
Opening my door, I turn on my lights to find everything in exact order as I left it. Nothing that I didn't touch should be in a perfect position from the beginning of a repeat to the end of one.
Disregarding the thought that anyone would enter my residence. I go into my kitchen to make food for tomorrow.
La~la~la~
I hummed while making something for my lunch tomorrow. It was a simple meal, a sandwich, a drink, and some fruits.
Putting that away for tomorrow and after I readied myself for bed, I went to my room to check in for the night.
Dreamland here I come!
-Ah~ Friend B come here into my warm embrace~
-Friend B, notice me!
Ah the revelry! I am the protagonist!
Laughing on my golden throne, faceless crowds cheer on for me but there is only one subject I acknowledge: my loyal dog.
She is my most loyal servant~!
My cute little dog, she follows me everywhere! Her fur is so soft, and her cute little doggie foot pads are too irresistible I must bop them.
Suddenly she starts to speak
"beeep beeep beeep!"
"Huh?"
Waking up I realize that that was just a dream. Though, why am I holding a dog plushie? Tossing the dog plushie aside, I stretch getting out of bed.
'Alright! Let's get ready for another fruitful day!
Grabbing everything I need for the school day; I check the time to ensure I'm on schedule to greet Satoru. Perfect!
I open the door and walk exactly where I'm supposed to be.
"Good morning Satoru-san!"
"Yo! Boyfriend-kun!"
'huh?'
Satoru walks towards me.
'This isn't supposed to happen! Satoru, my son! What has happened to you?!'
He looked at my exacerbated expression. He looked a little confused until it seemed like he came across an epiphany.
"So, when you 'forgot something' in class you were secretly having a rendezvous with Sango-san?"
He nudges my chest a little.
'I-wuh.. huh??'
I was losing my mind here!
"W-what are you talking about! I-I didn't do anything like that!"
"Don't worry pal, I'll keep your secret safe with me. Also, feel free to hang out on the roof with me and Sumiko-chan. The more the merrier, eh~?"
Sumiko, who appeared out of nowhere, has a menacing glare at me.
"N-no… I wouldn't want to intrude…"
I say with a squeak-like voice.
"Non-sense, feel free to drop by whenever"
Satoru wraps his arm around my shoulder and turns to walk with me. Sumiko gazes on with killer intent, she changed to a neutral expression once Satoru turned around. However, on the way to school I felt her gaze penetrate my soul. So, I didn't turn around, I didn't think, and I didn't breathe.
Satoru let me loose when we reached school, on the way to school he kept ranting about his video game winning streak which I replied with incessant nodding.
Satoru is greeted by Friend A at the school gate.
"Good morning, Satoru-san"
Friend A says with a smile, and a twinkle in his eyes. A light breeze softly moves Friend A's short black hair. Friend A's arms may be crossed, but it seems like he is inviting Satoru into his comfort zone.
"Good morning"
Satoru wanted to quickly avoid Friend A it seems, as he dashed to the classroom. Sumiko's gaze of death was directed at Friend A.
"Jeez, it's pretty cold here~ wouldn't you say~?"
Friend A says to me with an impeccable smile and open demeanor. His dazzling eyes almost invite me in, but I ran to the classroom like Satoru after saying good morning to him.
In the classroom Satoru is seated firmly at his desk, Sango, Kohaku, and Yasuko aren't here yet. Mrs. Yuki isn't here either. I sit down at my seat to relax for a few moments before class starts.
'I wonder what's with Sumiko? She seemed a little more angered than usual. It's probably nothing though.'
