"What the hell!"
I yelled stupefied.
'Wait no, this makes complete sense! I am the protagonist. Protagonist=hero, hero=protagonist.'
The logic was extremely simple to follow, I was the protagonist at this moment and I had to save the damsel in distress.
The same burst of energy that I feel when I celebrate came on here. I felt invigorated!
Attempting to rush towards Satoru I was stopped by Sango's firm grip. It was like I was shackled to the ground. No matter how much I pulled Sango would not give an inch! Suddenly I realized the situation I was in. I couldn't boldly rush into situations I have no idea about. So, I stopped and looked at Sumiko and Satoru once more.
As seen before, Sumiko was holding Satoru off the railing of the roof. There was something particular about this scene though.
While I pondered in silence Sango walked towards them announced our presence
"Sumiko-san, Satoru-san, what are you doing?"
"Yo, Sango-san. Check it out, Sumiko-chan is freaking strong."
He was casually cracking jokes while putting his life in the hands of some-else.
'What the hell'
I felt crestfallen, after many repeats of saving him for me to believe he was in danger and fall for his prank. Hold on a second-
"Sango-san, is this a prank?"
She looked at me with a smile and replied with
"The scenery is nice up here, isn't it?"
Understanding arguing wouldn't get anywhere, I would rather fight the semantics:
"A little loud, though."
"fufu~ you thought we would be eating together, alone? Right?"
I shrugged, taking this as an opportunity to ensure this repeat is prolonged.
"I don't mind eating here."
The afternoon sky held the sun up high, the sun's brilliance was slightly blotted out by clouds that decreased the intensity of the sun's rays making it aa perfect atmosphere for a picnic. I wouldn't deny that it is beautiful.
'I remember being up here to watch Satoru kiss Sumiko. To view some scenes, I have to setup like a ninja in certain spots. To view that scene in particular was a bit of a setup, I had to paint myself like the texture of the roof and lie still for a couple of hours. It took a few tries, but it paid off since I was able to view the scene. Viewing scenes is important as it gives me a look into how these scenes are supposed to go. To even explain how I figured out how I painted myself is-'
Sango pinched my cheek.
"You think too much, your food is going to go bad."
Her gleaming smile roused me from my thoughts.
"Oh, right! My food!"
I quickly unpack my lunchbox an reveal a buffet of my favorite foods that I worked tirelessly on.
"Wow! I didn't know you knew how to cook! Sumiko-chan pull me up!"
Satoru saw my lunchbox and was immediately intrigued.
"Ooo~ dumplings are my favorite, here let's trade."
Sango takes my dumplings and gives me her egg roles.
I have an expressionless face as she does it
'those are my favorite… Nooo!'
Somehow, she read my blank face and held out one of the dumplings to me
"Say 'ahh'"
"Huh?"
I said with a slight blush
I bashfully opened my mouth to eat the dumpling off her chopsticks. My ears where hot and my face was red. However, as the protagonist I must endure this small trial to succeed
Paku~paku~
She then held out one of her egg rolls for me to eat
"Sango-san, when did you get a boyfriend?!"
It seems Satoru was surprised at seeing Sango feed me off her chopsticks.
"Satrou-san, are you going to eat? Or are you just going to drool over his food?"
"Ah right, I was having fun with Sumiko holding me up that I almost forgot to eat!"
As Satoru was saying this, Sumiko prepared Satoru's lunchbox. He forgot it because he overslept.
Sango brought the egg roll closer to my mouth, but I had enough of this charade!
"S-Sango-san, we shouldn't… N-not here… What if someone misunderstands?"
"Then… Where do you want to do it?"
Satoru listens intently and Sumiko hums peacefully.
Wait there is an easy way out of this!
"Here, try some of my Squid Sausages. I made some last night but I don't know if they came out like I wanted them to."
I held up a Squid Sausage for her to receive with her chopstick. Instead, she ate it.
'instead, she at it. Instead, she ate it. Instead, she ate it.'
Huh is this Okamoto Sango? I guess this repeat is nice, but why is she being nice to me?
Afterall, there is no such thing as free lunch; thusly, I find it weird that she is being this unconditionally nice to me. Besides that, who is she? She is Okamoto Sango, a love interest for Satoru and one of the potential villains that will come to kill Satoru.
Okamoto Sango from past iterations was never anything like this to me, as her part in the script never interacted with mine; therefore, all past interactions I have had with her have been because of me. So, Okamoto Sango should be bothering with me in the first place. Also, how does she know my name? and why did she come looking for me last lunch?
Sango pinched my cheek again
"Jeez! At-least respond!"
Sango puffed up her cheeks cutely
Satoru giggled watching us while Sumiko was busy tidying up her and Satoru's lunchbox.
"What did you ask?"
"Where do you want to do 'it'?!"
I scratch my cheek, while looking at her.
"What do you mean by do it? We are eating here, aren't we?"
I was lowering my head while scratching my cheek and I looked up at her. Her cheeks were a furious shade of red and it seemed that steam was coming out of her head.
"Satoru-kun, let's leave so that they can be alone for a while."
"Ok~! Good-luck Boyfriend-san!"
With that Sango and I were the only ones left on the roof.
Quickly, Sango composed herself and leaned towards my face. I thought she was going to kiss me, however, she whispered something I never thought I would ever hear
"Who are you?"
'Who… Am I?'
Isn't it obvious? I am the Protagonist! Well… only for this lunch.
