"Rending Whirlpool!!" the middle-aged man shouts and starts spinning while keeping his saber out. Water starts to accumulate out of nowhere and, within seconds completely engulfs the man, creating a whirlpool.
This is no ordinary whirlpool, as the water on its edges is moving at incredible speed. They can rend anything they touch into a paste.
"Another advanced-level technique," Brax says, and he tries to make some distance between himself and this life-threatening whirlpool, but the middle-aged man is a little faster.
He instantly closes the gap and the rendering blades of the whirlpool manage to shred Brax's robe while also leaving multiple deep cuts on his chest.
Brax clenches his teeth trying to subdue the pain. His opponent's speed is much greater for him to dodge this move, but he does notice that the whirlpool speed is only greater while moving in a straight line.
With his observation, Brax starts making swift movements, zig-zagging around the middle-aged man as he tries to rip Brax to shreds.
Though Brax is making it a lot harder for the whirlpool to catch him, the middle-aged man is very persistent.
Brax is not just planning to move around and wait for this man to stop from exhaustion. He is already planning for a counter.
All this time, his entire focus has been on the whirlpool, as he is trying to figure out its essence.
'Water made from Qi energy, meaning it has no impurities. I think I know what to do.
Brax releases his Qi into the surroundings, and with extreme concentration, his Qi finds gaps within the Whirlpool and starts binding into it. Each of his QI strands starts fusing with the water without being noticed.
And then Brax executes his plan. His Qi, which fused with the water, instantly separates itself from the water while taking away all the heat with it, leaving the water in a super-cooled state.
The super-cooled water reacts to the violent motion of the saber and instantly freezes, trapping the middle-aged man inside it.
The science behind this is similar to cold water stored in bottles that instantly freeze from any movement. Brax had to just remove all the heat from the whirlpool and science would do the rest.
Now that his opponent is frozen, it is the perfect chance to attack. Brax grabs his spear and goes for the attack.
A full-power thrust infused with his dense Qi. The tip of his spear starts glowing white hot and a blaze of fire dances around it. Since Brax's opponent is beyond his physical capabilities, he is not going to hold back one bit.
The blazing hot spearhead instantly pierces through the ice wall and stabs the middle-aged man within. "~AARRGGGGGG~" The sound of his pain-carrying cry instantly fills the surroundings.
Brax had aimed the spear to where the heart should have been, but his opponent is a tough one. Even being sealed within a thick layer of ice, he was just about to break through. That is when the spearhead pierced in. Brax's opponent moved at the right time causing the spearhead to pierce his stomach.
The ice whirlpool shatters, revealing the middle-aged man with Brax's spear going right through his stomach and coming out of his back. His wound is sizzling from the burning fire, but the man doesn't seem to be concerned.
His eyes are burning with fury.
Brax immediately pulls his spear back and creates some distance between himself and the middle-aged man.
The man grits his teeth in pain and puts his hand over his burning wound to put out the fire.
Brax finally gets a good look at the man. About five feet ten inches, long black hair, short beard, sharp eyes and eyebrows, a pointy nose, and a strong jawline. And, of course, half of his face is burnt because of Brax.
"So this is how you really look," Brax says smirking, pissing off the middle-aged man in the process.
"You are good. You managed to hurt me twice, but only because you caught me off-guard. You have some weird techniques I have never seen before. I am going to make great use of them once I kill you and get my hands on them," the middle-aged man says while observing Brax.
His displeasure increases as he notices something, Brax seems to be completely fine. 'I am sure that I got him with my whirlpool,' he thinks with certainty as he looks at Brax's bare chest.
Brax's robe is shredded, but his chest looks completely fine. The middle-aged man also sees that the cut below Brax's eyes is also gone. 'How strong is his healing factor? Does he have a technique that boosts healing?' As this thought crosses his mind, the middle-aged man's eyes flash with greed.
Healing techniques are extremely expensive and very rare to come across. Massive clans and sects will spend a fortune on acquiring one.
Seeing how there are no injuries on Brax even after being on the receiving end of his powerful Rending Whirlpool, the middle-aged man is now certain that Brax practices a healing technique.
"I have changed my mind boy, hand me over all your techniques, especially your healing technique, and I will spare your life," the middle-aged man says.
'Healing technique?' Brax questions himself. 'Does he think I practice some kind of healing technique after seeing me uninjured? Interesting, so there are healing techniques as well.' This piece of information pleases Brax.
As the greatest biologist ever known to man in his previous life, anything that influences bio-cellular activities greatly excites him.
"I don't know what you are talking about," Brax answers back. Even if he does have what this middle-aged man is asking for, he wouldn't give it because Brax is not an idiot. In fact, even an idiot wouldn't believe this man's words.
"Suit yourself," the middle-aged man says and goes for the attack again, but this time, instead of retreating, Brax goes in for the attack.
He pulls his spear back while still keeping its pointy end facing toward his opponent, Brax uses the Mirage Spear Thrust.
Multiple spears form out of nowhere, and all of them look like the original.
"WHAT!!" the middle-aged man is startled seeing this and immediately stops in his tracks to not get pierced again.
'Which one is the fake?' He questions. He knows what this technique is. Many members back in his clan practice the Mirage Spear Thrust, but he has never in his entire life seen someone execute it with such perfection.
"Fuck it!" Knowing that if he doesn't do anything right now, death will be the only outcome. So, with one single slash of his saber, he tries to protect his head, neck, and heart all at once.
And to give credit where credit is due, he manages to do it. All spear mirages that were aimed at the head, neck, and heart disappear. But he has severely underestimated Brax's ability to read people's intent and how brutal he can get.
From the very beginning, Brax is aiming for one thing and one thing only, as he knows a cultivator's instinct to protect their vital organs.
The middle-aged man was anticipating pain because he knew he would still get pierced by the spear, but he didn't know where the spear would pierce him. He expected it to be his shoulder, arm, leg, or stomach. But when the pain came, it came like a landslide.
His whole body clinches up, his throat squeezes as he cannot even get a sound out, his eyes are almost popping out of their socket. So when he slowly bends his head to look down, he sees the spear going right through his dick.
