Ryu wanted to give Ritsu her own body. However, he was lacking in points, so he planned to do it later.
"You need to learn the difference between the pronunciation between L and R"
"It's inevitable for mispronunciation to exist between languages"
"Japanese speakers pronounce L and R as the same thing as far as I'm concerned."
"From now on, if you mistake L and R, you'll receive a deep kiss in front of the class as punishment"
Ryu knew that line was from the manga, so he was surprised. He smiled deviously.
"Alright, Ryu," Irina-sensei purred, crossing her arms, "you're first. Let's see if you can distinguish the difference between the English words 'light' and 'right.' Go ahead."
"Um…" Ryu thought for a moment, but not too hard—he knew he wasn't planning to get it "right." "...R-right?"
Irina's eyes narrowed, a smirk forming on her lips as she leaned forward. "Incorrect."
Before he could even brace himself, she grabbed his tie and pulled him forward, planting a deep kiss on his lips, her red lipstick leaving a mark on his cheek. The entire class erupted into surprised laughter and gasps, some students averting their eyes in embarrassment while others watched with wide, shocked eyes.
Ryu pulled back, wiping his cheek, but he still wore that smug smile. "Guess I'll have to try harder next time, huh, Sensei?"
"Oh, you'd better," Irina replied, her tone dripping with mock exasperation. "Maybe next time you'll think twice before making the same mistake. Now, who's next?"
Nagisa cleared his throat, looking a bit nervous as he stood up to take his turn. "Uh… l-light?"
"Correct!" Irina-sensei said, smiling sweetly at him. She turned back to Ryu, her gaze still playful but challenging. "It seems some students can get it on their first try."
Ryu couldn't resist the urge to go again. He raised his hand, giving Irina a deliberately innocent expression. "Sensei, I think I need another try. This time, I'll get it."
She rolled her eyes but allowed him to stand. "Fine. This time, I want you to pronounce 'glass' and 'grass.' Go ahead, Ryu."
"Uh…" He paused, scratching his chin as if deep in thought. "Gr-grass?"
Irina-sensei sighed dramatically, but her eyes gleamed with amusement. "Wrong again. Honestly, Ryu, at this rate, I'll never break you of this habit."
With that, she stepped forward again, leaning in and giving him another quick kiss. The class giggled louder this time, and Karma elbowed Nagisa, whispering, "He's totally doing this on purpose. Look at him!"
Ryu sat back, grinning at his success. Irina was clearly starting to catch on, but he wasn't about to stop now. He was fully prepared to "get it wrong" as many times as possible.
"Alright, enough interruptions," Irina-sensei said, sounding exasperated but not angry. "Next up... Kaede. Try saying 'late' and 'rate.'"
Kaede was blushing but managed to get it right, avoiding any further "punishments." Ryu, however, was already raising his hand again. "Sensei, please, I still need more practice."
Irina raised an eyebrow, clearly suspicious of his intentions. "Ryu, you're not supposed to enjoy being wrong, you know."
By the third time, Ryu was on a roll. Irina-sensei's patience was wearing thin, and her feigned irritation had shifted into something a bit sharper. She eyed him with a look that was a mixture of suspicion and amusement, but he could tell she was still willing to indulge him—just barely.
"Alright, Ryu," she sighed, folding her arms. "One last chance. This time, say 'clown' and 'crown.' And if you get it wrong again…" she trailed off, but the smirk on her lips was unmistakable.
The entire class had gone silent, leaning forward in anticipation.
Ryu put on his most serious face and took a dramatic breath. "...C-crown?" he stammered, his eyes meeting hers with a challenging glint.
"Wrong again!" she declared, her voice low and almost a little too eager. She stepped forward with a slight smile, but this time, it was clear she meant business. "You're really asking for it now, Ryu."
"Sensei, isn't this… a bit much?" Hinata blurted, sounding more bewildered than angry. She looked around, hoping others felt the same.
Manami quickly chimed in, her tone soft but firm. "Yeah, Irina-sensei, it just feels… a little excessive. We're supposed to be focusing on English, right?"
Yukiko nodded, crossing her arms. "We've gotten to the point of the lesson by now, haven't we? I don't remember any of my previous teachers using this kind of 'correction method.'"
Irina straightened, looking a bit put out. "Oh, come on! This kind of hands-on approach is common in English schools. Sometimes you have to break the mold to get students' attention! Trust me, it's completely normal there." She waved a hand dismissively, trying to brush off their concern.
Kaede Kayano stifled a laugh, her tone light but teasing. "Somehow, I doubt this is in any English curriculum, Sensei."
Irina just huffed, looking slightly flustered but unwilling to admit defeat. "Fine, fine," she said, lifting her hands in mock surrender, "if you're all so bothered, we can try a less immersive approach. But don't blame me if your pronunciation is lacking."
Ryu, watching with a grin, leaned back in his chair. "Guess I'll have to improve without any special lessons, then."
"Not until our final punishment is over with," Irina-Sensei said.
Before he could react, she grabbed the collar of his uniform and pulled him down toward her. The sudden movement caught him off guard, and they both stumbled, falling onto the classroom floor with a soft thud.
The class gasped in surprise, but no one moved to stop them. Irina's hands were still gripping his shirt, her lips already pressing against his in a way that was far more intense than before. The kiss lingered, her lips firm against his, and Ryu, stunned but not exactly resisting, could feel his heart racing as she didn't pull away immediately. The classroom was silent, wide-eyed as the kiss deepened in front of everyone.
At last, she broke the kiss, her face just inches from his, her expression mixed with irritation and maybe just a hint of intrigue. She shot him a daring look, as if challenging him to try it again.
"Are we clear now, Ryu?" she whispered, just loud enough for him to hear, her voice dripping with an edge that made him shiver.
Ryu, still lying there with her on top of him, managed a devious smirk, his voice low as he whispered back, "Maybe I need a few more reminders, Sensei…"
Irina gave him a final, exasperated look before quickly pulling herself up, smoothing her clothes with a sharp huff. She cleared her throat and faced the class, who had been watching with a mixture of shock and excitement.
"Alright! Back to pronunciation practice, everyone!" Irina announced, her voice firm but slightly flustered as she regained her composure. The class erupted into whispers and snickers, with Karma giving Ryu a knowing grin from the back row.
Ryu sat up, his smirk even wider than before, savoring the victory. And although Irina looked less than pleased, he couldn't shake the feeling that she'd been caught off guard, maybe even intrigued.
As the lesson continued, Ryu couldn't resist raising his hand again.
"Sensei," he called out, feigning innocence, "one more try?"
