The next day had a similar vibe.
Some of the students were buzzing with excitement as the plan to assassinate Koro-Sensei began.
But this time, it was different. There was a palpable sense of urgency in the air.
A new plan had been devised—a joint operation that would require every ounce of precision, stealth, and coordination the students had.
Ryu had been quietly studying Koro-Sensei's movements over the past few days.
He'd noticed patterns—small shifts in how the teacher reacted to various attacks—and he believed he had found a weakness in his defenses.
It wasn't much, but he decided to "attempt" to defeat Koro-sensei.
He leaked his discovery to other students, which was enough to put a plan into motion.
"Alright," Ryu said, leaning in close to Yukiko Kanzaki, Ryoma Terasaka, Hinata Okano, and Rio Nakamura as they gathered in the back of the classroom, a place far enough from the fray for a bit of strategy.
"We've got one shot at this, so we need to coordinate perfectly. Here's what we're going to do."
Rio, ever the strategist, raised an eyebrow. "Go on, then. We're listening."
"Okay." Ryu glanced around to ensure no one else was eavesdropping, then whispered. "The key here is distraction and precision. We'll need to split into two teams—one to draw Koro-Sensei's attention, the other to land the final blow. The first team will create chaos with smoke and diversionary tactics. The second team... well, that's where we come in."
"Chaos? Smoke?" Ryoma Terasaka, who had the build of a brute but was surprisingly good with tactics when he applied himself, smirked. "You're talking about me, right? I'm more than happy to break a few things."
"Exactly," Ryu said, grinning at him. "But not just break things. We're going to break his focus. Rio, you're with me. You're fast and agile—perfect for taking him by surprise. We'll keep him busy and try to get him to use his tentacles to shield himself."
Rio nodded. "I'm in. But you better be ready, Ryu. I'm not carrying this mission by myself."
"Of course." He smirked. "And Terasaka, you're on the front lines. You'll create the chaos. I'm talking smoke bombs, firecrackers, whatever you've got. Koro-Sensei loves to show off, but when his focus is scattered, he's more vulnerable."
Teraska grinned wide. "I got it. Let's make some noise."
"Yukiko, you're in charge of backup. If things go wrong, you need to be ready with a tranquilizer dart and the first aid kit. We can't afford to leave this to chance." Ryu shot a look at Yukiko, who nodded, though her face was still unsure.
"And me?" Hinata asked. She was a bit quieter, but she had a sharp mind and was excellent with traps and gadgets.
"You're our wildcard. I know you've been working on something to counter his tentacles. If you can find a way to neutralize at least one of them, we might have a chance," Ryu explained. "Get creative."
Hinata's eyes lit up. "I've got just the thing. A bit of an electric shock with a special kind of wire—aimed straight at his tentacles. If it works, we might be able to slow him down for a few moments."
"Perfect. Let's move." Ryu clapped his hands together. "We'll execute this as a team. No heroics. Just pure coordination. And for the record—" He smirked, "If this works, I get to buy you all lunch."
Yukiko rolled her eyes. "You're terrible."
"Let's do it!" Ryoma said, already itching to get started.
Team One (Ryu and Rio) moved swiftly, keeping close to the edges of the room, their weapons concealed. Rio's sharp eyes kept an eye on Koro-Sensei as she moved into position. Ryu, his usual mischievous grin replaced by cold focus, took a deep breath.
"Stay close," he whispered. "Once we engage, there's no turning back."
Team Two (Teraska and Yukiko) were already at the front of the classroom, Terasaka readying his smoke bombs. "This is gonna be fun!" he grinned, tossing one at the center of the room. The smoke billowed out in an instant, thick and disorienting. It was the perfect cover.
Koro-Sensei reacted instantly, his tentacles flaring out to clear the smoke. "A little early for the fireworks, don't you think?" he laughed, his voice echoing with amusement.
As Koro-Sensei was distracted by the smoke, Rio darted forward, aiming for a tentacle, while Ryu, ever the opportunist, made his move. He sprinted towards Koro-Sensei, using the confusion to close the distance. At the same time, Hinata activated the electric shock trap, sending a jolt through the nearest tentacle, hoping to disable it for a moment.
But Koro-Sensei was quick. His tentacles shot out in all directions, trying to deflect every incoming attack. Rio's attempted strike was blocked, and Ryu barely avoided being slammed by one of the tentacles.
"Nice try, but not quite!" Koro-Sensei grinned, his voice light and teasing.
Meanwhile, Terasaka was already causing havoc, tossing more smoke bombs and firecrackers into the chaos. The classroom was a swirl of smoke and loud noises as the students launched their distraction tactics. Koro-Sensei's playful mood shifted, his attention spread thin.
Yukiko, waiting for her moment, took a step back, aiming her tranquilizer gun at Koro-Sensei. But just as she was about to fire, one of his tentacles shot toward her, forcing her to duck.
"Nice aim," Koro-Sensei teased, "but you'll have to do better than that!"
Ryu, seeing an opening, charged forward again, keeping his eyes locked on Koro-Sensei's blind spots. With Rio's help, they managed to get close enough to strike. Ryu reached for his hidden blade, preparing to take a more direct shot. But then—
Koro-Sensei's eyes twinkled. "Oh no, you don't!"
At the last moment, he vanished, his tentacles moving to shield him, as if he had known the attack was coming. It was all over in an instant. The plan had failed, but not without a glimpse of success. They had pushed Koro-Sensei into a defensive position, and they had learned something crucial.
The bell rang again, signaling the end of the day's pledge.
"Well, well!" Koro-Sensei exclaimed, clearly enjoying himself. "That was a good try! But it's going to take more than that to catch me."
The students panted, exhausted but determined. They hadn't succeeded, but the plan had shown them a new side of Koro-Sensei. He was quicker than they had expected. But that just meant they needed to be quicker still.
Ryu wiped the sweat from his brow, his grin returning despite the failure. This really was fun.
Although they had failed, they had a fun time trying to kill Koro-Sensei.
