The dragon has been slain.
The mountains have growled upon the headless body of their ancient protector. The skin of cursing darkness, and fire running through it's veins. Now it slumbers over the pedestal it reigned for ages, without life and without its pride.
The soldier forfeited the battleground to a small rock and sat without a word. His broken sword dropped to the ground, and blood gushed out of his arms and he let them run. There was no enjoyment in him, all of it was within the kingdom 's royal troop who held merry with the slain head lift high in their hand, one passing to another like some trophy. Their hero was missing from sight, the dragon slayer, the peace keeper, the savior — Adrian.
The body was to be gifted to the royal research facility while the head will become a jewel in the king's court.
"But, what about her?" Asked a soldier.
Her, referred to as the one mourning inside the mountain cave in the tiled steps in her own throne. Famously known, The Dragon Mother.
No man dares to meet her hellish eyes for how beautiful they are, stare at her beauty for a moment and she can steal humanity from humans. The Dragon Mother's curse is her God blessed appearance that even fails the angels.
Long chains clanked against mountain grounds, her bright skin glitter under the sun and her long white veil dress blew with the wind. She cried not a tear, not a flicker of emotion oozing out. She saw none and everyone saw her, as she walked in chains. Sharp emerald eyes, light blonde long hair touching her waist. Her outlines were a wave of the sea, breath–taking but deadly. Her face was an example of accurate symmetry with features— angelic.
Stomping on grass with pride, had her value ridden to be either the king's personal slave or an object of execution.
She walked looking forward to no one. However, only one she turned and glanced upon the dragon slayer sitting alone on a rock, headed down and looked defeated.
She damned him in her inaudible words.
