I made myself invisible to not bother with anyone.
" Right turn from the police station, third row, second house."
I walk slowly as I took in the familiar scene in front of my eyes. The same shopkeeper, the drunk policeman, the wide window of a hot women's house, the idiotic barber whom I owe 200, kids playing tag, my old friend who always breaks the window and the owner arguing again, the late night rowdy couple, the store owner and his regular customer being all smiley, the same road, the same scent.
Man, I am getting nostalgic.
I miss everything.... but not my parents and that bastard brother.
I entered my house, checking around things.
My room is being used as a storeroom, my old clothes missing, a black and white photo of mine hanging around the corner.
My father, mother and brother were sitting in the living room, chatting happily about their daily life.
I am alive, but everyone thinks I am dead. Funny huh...
A sigh escaped my mouth.
" I hate..."
I grabbed my neck tightly. Slowly, the amount of oxygen in my body dropped down, my eyes become blank and mind went dizzy.
Ugh.. haa....
I bit my tongue hardly to regain myself. It helped me regain some of my clarity, I slowly loosed the grip over my neck.
Huff... huff... huff...
I clenched my hairs hard and sat down.
" The day I left the house was the day I swore to never have any emotions towards them. Calm down, you don't feel anything. Just think that you weren't born here in the first place. This is not you. Argh....."
I kept repeating to myself.
" I don't feel anything for them.... I don't feel anything for them.... "
Huff.... huff.....
Let's get out of here, I don't wanna see their faces.
I walked away from my house in the lonely streets. The invisible effect wore off after the limited time. Unknown to me, I started walking in the middle of the road.
Beep! Beep!
I just wanted to get away from this, get away from here. Disappear from here,
" Hey! getaway you suicidal maniac! Hey!"
Thud.
Accidentally, a truck hit me.
Blood dripped down my forehead, I felt a little dizzy. But my mind became a bit clearer because of pain.
I sat up looking around. A small crowd formed, surrounding the place. An old man and a young boy ran towards me while other people scolded the truck driver.
" Hey are you alright young man?"
" Does it hurt?"
From their voice I could tell they were worried.
" Nah, I am fine." I waved my hand.
" No, you are not fine."
" Jay, help me carry this young man."
" Okay grandpa."
Against my will, they dragged me to the hospital. The issue with the truck driver solved on the spot after he apologised and paid my hospital bills. Though it wasn't his fault.
The old man took me to his flower shop after the treatment. I had a lunch with the boy and the old man.
" By the way, young man. It's my first time seeing your face. Are you new to this area?"
" No, I just came here to see someone."
The old man didn't say anything much after. Slowly the time passed by as I sat on the chair. The night arrived as I just gazed the busy streets and the night sky.
The old man closed his shop with the help of Jay. Both of them sat near me. Jay took out some snacks and offered me.
" Hey young man, what's your name?"
The old man asked.
" My name is Rudra R-.... just Rudra."
" .....I see."
The atmosphere grew quite all of a sudden.
' Seems he understood something.'
A quite night breeze passed by as we both stared at the night sky.
Jay came close to me and offered a flower, which I took it without much thinking.
" The flower is called 'Petunia'. My grandpa told me that these flowers give hope, healing, and well-being to the one you're offering.
I hope you recover quickly."
A faint smile formed on my face.
" Young man, I assume you have a problem with your family."
"... you're right."
" Why don't you tell me? Maybe I can help."
" Nah, you won't be able to help. But thanks anyways."
I waved smiling a little.
" I assume that your family doesn't like you and wish you were never born."
My eyes widened at the old mans assumption.
" How did you know!?"
" Relax young man, those dead eyes and not using your surname pretty much give away."
" ..... But still you figured it. You seem to have experienced something similar."
The old man chuckled at my guess.
" Do you want to stay with them?"
I nodded my head.
" Why?"
