Chapter 49 - Wooden Scent~

Her closed eyes trembled as an unsettling sensation washed over her, causing the hairs on the back of Seraphina's neck to stand on end. The metallic scent of blood wrinkled her nose, and her lips pressed into a thin line as she tried to decipher the unsettling stimuli assaulting her senses.

In an instant, a powerful, frigid gust of wind whipped through the room, jolting Seraphina upright in her bed. Her hands instinctively wrapped around her legs, seeking solace and protection as her widened eyes reflected sheer horror.

The room, once dimly lit, now plunged into an abyss of darkness that seemed to penetrate her very being. A sense of unease coiled in the pit of her stomach, intensifying the mounting dread.

An eerie sensation, like the gentle caress of unseen fingers, tingled across her skin, eliciting a shiver that rippled down her spine. Seraphina clutched the blanket tightly, pulling it up to her neck in a desperate attempt to shield herself from the inexplicable touch.
